  • you guys are so fucking idiots, don't be a prick!!! this video is very helpful and very interesting....very nice video, congratulations!!!

  • why the hell do you want to speak in an american accent if your mexican or something?

  • @gonzalez4515

Perhaps not to take awkward pauses (mentally searching for words) while speaking?

The point here (or at least I think it is) is fluency and clarity.

When it comes to accents even people from different parts of the USA tend to speak have different accents, so why bother?

  • why would you want an American Accent they are all fat

  • @hannahrosie1000 lol no.

  • Can you do a /a/ vs /ɔ/ because it's the hardest distinction for me. I'm used to pronouncing them the same, or not, but not really know when it's one and when it's the other.

  • @ArturoStojanoff the latter is more open and longer than the other...

  • @ArturoStojanoff are you shooting for a west coast or an east coast dialect? keep in mind that in Californian (neutral American/ what you'd normally hear on american tv), the /ɔ/ vowel does not exist. they have only the back /a/ sound as in father. i guess i can send you some records&practice sheets if you like, just private message me.

  • @TomWilliams921 Thanks but don't worry, it's ok. I'll figure it out eventually...
