I think that the 60's, 70's and 90's were the best times for music. The last 12 years have pretty much totally sucked other than audioslave, and possibly red hot chili pepper, maybe a little bit of foo fighters. I am so tired of all the pop bullshit.
Hey, don't forget about Stevie Ray Vaughan in the 80's, even though he had absolutely nothing to do with the 80's sound. Beautiful blues/jazz/rock music from a beautiful person with a pure soul.
pretty much music from 2000 onwards has been disappointing to say the least. they dont make music now like they did in the 90's. in my opinion anyway :)
@VideoKiwi2008 i agree with you...but look at the changes our country has had to undertake in the past decade...we havent had a chance to do anything meaningful....give it time...we will make it through and get back to where we used to be!!!
This was the first Mazzy Star I ever heard; "otherworldly" was the only thought that came to mind. I looked and looked for the album, their first album hadn't even been released yet. I was able to see them once; just beautiful. Thanks, dafnitin
Herd her for the first time on the radio last night and was completely blow away by her..... Her voice is so soulful .... shes amazing ..... Thank you for uploading
ITS ACTUALLY AN ARTHUR LEE SONG FROM LEGENDARY BAND LOVE !!! ITS ON YOU TUBE TOO !!! ITS FAR SUPERIOR !!!! THIS JUST DOESNT HIT THE SPOT !!! LISTEN TO ORIGINAL BEFORE YOU SLATE ME !!!
@boomboombroome I grew up in the 90s and I dont remember music like this playing on the radio. I just remember songs like Who let the dogs out, im a barbie girl, and the backstreet boys. So, I'm going to say music really hasnt gotten that much worse.
This song makes me want to comfort a woman in my arms, if she were lying in my arms as we laid on dry hay in a barn, covering ourselves with a single thin plaid blanket as the pissing rain continuously down-poured outside in the darkness of the night. Out only source of light would be a single lantern at the entrance of the barn.
we all miss you, princess.

I'm suprised there's so nobody with a Xx(insert name)xX for a video like this, this song is a hipster magnet

@smbrox
That is a good version.
Note for note musically, but the voice, her voice, almost gives a different interpretation to Arthur's plaintif vocal.
Arthur was often speaking from a "questioning" position. Mazzy Star is speaking from a dominant place.
Note for note, but what a switch in delivery.
Great stuff Mazzy

The band Trik Turner used this song as a basis for their song called "Friends and Family"

And another thing. The painting is neither Picasso or Kandinsky; they're more abstract. Don't know who it is; nice painting though.

Proving a resilient echo in time and space.Hard to hear wonderful music through the quiet, resilience of the voice...

@shaneshaky1: that said, I think Hope Sandoval's (Mazzy Star) cover of Arthur Lee's (Love) song is very well done.

@shaneshaky1 I did actually go and check Arthur Lee's out, but Mazzy Star's still sounding better for me...
