Good job, Pilita. To use one of your signature songs, a million thanks to you for the music!

  • Love the way Pilita sings! Wonder if she knows or ever heard of a Visayan song that went something like 'NITUO AKO NA IKAW BUUTAN GAYOD

  • Not that I know of. I'm beginning to think that Pilita only recorded 5 Visayan albums out of the more than 100 in her repertoire. That song you're wondering about is called Mitu-o Ako and I posted the Mabuhay Singers rendition of it.

  • I remember when i was very small living in Mandaue, my mother, grand mother and great grand mother used to sing this song for me, to put me to sleep. Pilita Corrales has the most wonderful voice, a gift from heaven. I just get so teary when i hear or see my beloved Cebu/Philippines. I LOVE Australia so much too. Maybe, it's just the memory that brings tears in my eyes. Here i am now, on the top of a mountain all alone in a very cold winter night. Nothing better than a cebuano songs...

  • wala pa d i ka nagminyo??

  • @freshflowers4u2 hi I am also an expatriate.

I have fond memories of the radio drama days in my hometown Cebu City.

I have lived in Australia most of my life and have been an Australian citizen for much longer than I have been a Filipino citizen but Cebu will always be home in my heart.

  • @jgasok The best Filipino songs are tiguang. The songs now are Amrican wannabe tripe with no passion or creativity.

  • Hi, I'm not Filipino. I'm Malay. But I love this song very much. And I like Pilita COrrales.Does anyone has the translation of this song in english?

  • This song is very old.

How bitter it is to feel

Where our love is not free

But I shall claim the right to worship

I shall worship you even if only in my dreams.

How sweet it is to feel

    If only love is boundless

Your smile will stay in my heart

I shall yearn for it, even if only in my dreams.

(The last six lines are repeated.)

  • tinuod na day, pagkapait sa apdo nga gitingal nako sa ex girl friend. Mao ni sigig nako kantahon pangharana(talingting, siquijor)ug dumaguete.

  • i was back to my younger age, i love it

  • I'm so glad to have find this song. I was transported back in time to my childhood days in the late 60's and early 70's. This reminds me of people and places that no longer exists. Even the 45 and 33 rpm are gone now. Can anyone say if DYBU still exist today?

  • yep dybu stll exist. i think love radio na siya karon. nag rebranding lang.

  • The name of this song is "Balud Sa Kalimot" I can just send you the mp3 if you want to give me your e-mail. I'm too lazy to make another video.

  • I have just posted a "Balud Sa Kalimot" video. It's really not about the video though. It's just a bunch of pictures of Pilita and the song. Check it out!

  • @toiletholder I posted a video of that song. Balud Sa Kalimot is the name.

  • @toiletholder - this is another composition, arrangement by maestro Mil Villareal...

  • mabuhay po ang mga bayota! astig!

  • Ayaw ug tawgag bayot kay mahuyang man ang lami nga term ana uy. hihihi

  • I like the song. It reminds me of youth age in cabalian southern leyte.

  • Thank you for putting this effort. I am Cebuano Aussie at least I can hear this beautiful Bisayan love songs especially Pilita Corrales

  • Do you have songs from Susan Fuentes?

  • I have most of them in Tagalog and Visayan. "Kanhi Ako Pinangga" is a favourite. I might upload it soon.

  • I like the visayan ones:) thanks

  • I posted Kanhi Ako Pinangga.

  • The song is alright but I don't like to look at the picture on this video. Who is that supposed to be? It looks horrible.

  • That's Pilita. That was the 1974 album cover for Matud Nila.

  • i like the way she sang this song although i dont understand bisaya.. i am ilocana/pangasinense/tagalog. is there a tagalog version of this song? but i like the way she sang this song ... toiletholder you can't blame some of us to listen tagalog because that's our national language and like those who doesn't know bisaya will understand the song.

  • I listen to Tagalog music too but my problem is that all other languages and their cultures are not recognized as they should be. I don't understand Tagalog OR BISAYA. I was born in Canada. I don't understand why Filipinos have a mentality that yoy have to understand the language to enjoy the music.

  • Portuguese fado, Greek music, Latin music etc. have large followings of music savvy people who don't speak those languages. The point is to hear the passion in the music and to listen to the sounds of other beautiful languages inspite of not understanding them.

  • Hoy day! I'll post some old Ilocano and Kampampangan songs.

  • pilita is a great singer... the song is good. but this video totally sucks!!! there is no effort.

  • I know the video sucks. I just just wanted people to listen to the song anyway. Just think of it as minimalist and deal with it. I mean there is so much garbage out there with karaoke versions that sound tacky with images of Filipinos in a hut brooding by the sea. Then cut to random pictures of flowers then voila! You got a video!

  • I'm comletely broke-assed so i don't have a camera, video capture card or good video editing software. And I wasn't about to make another video which was just a montage ot flowers and sunsets. YUCK!

  • At least we have something in common, i dislike videoke stuff, they belong to the toilet as your username suggests, but sorry i can't exempt your vid. What a coincidence! ha..ha..ha..

  • Maybe i want you to hate the video. Maybe I'm into that.

  • pilita is a great song... the song is good. but this video totally sucks!

  • i love the visayan song as well but Miss Corrales has so many Tagalog song 's too. It is great thanks.

  • want to see real tagalog music but you are great..

  • The reason I put this song on youtune was because I wanted Tagalogs to hear how well written and passionate Visayan songs are. Tagalog songs are really bland but they always celebrate their music as the best Filipino music.

  • Youtube i mean.
