I find it's easy to float if you lay on your back and relax, when my muscles start tensing up and I struggle is usually when I start sinking. But Osaka seems relaxed all the time so you gotta wonder...

@cookiemonsterisEVIL An old classic called Azumanga Daioh. I haven't seen Lucky Star, but I heard the series consists of couple of diminutive high school girls discussing how best to eat a piece of bread with chocolate in it... so yeah, they're basically the same.

Er, it's a Slice of Life show about a bunch of high school girls and their misadventures. Totally light and slapstick-y and probably very similar - if a little less modern - than Lucky Star.

Hold your breath above water and you should be able to float because the air you hold in won't have anywhere to escape and the air in your lungs would naturally go up like bubbles would underwater. You can't keep air underwater unless it was in a tank of oxygen and they use metal to store it in so that divers can dive.

osaka is right, not tomo. anyone who is even slightly below their body-mass-index weight, or else has muscles and is in "good shape", will sink like a stone after they exhale. women get a bit of extra bouancy from the obvious two areas, but umm, they pretty much sink after they exhale too, unless they are fairly overweight. i'm not sure what humans are made out of but its mostly water, but the stuff that isn't weighs more than water does, which is weird, but it's proven by how ppl sink.
