i have a buddy who has that excact 660 with dyna 5 ignition stage 2 hot cam yoshi pipe, jet kit, k&n filters and still cant out run my stock 700xx we run side by side start to finish everytime
i raced a 660 raptor the other day and didnt have the same results..he wouldnt tell me what he had done to the engine..he had a plus 3.5 swingarm. we did a rolling start so he always took off before i did. im 240 lbs as well. hes like 180 on a lighter bike with engine mods. i just hava fmf Q4 slip on no programer either. but despite all the set backs i managed to catch him slowly.
well i havent seen a race between the raptor 700 and xx but i can say from experience that the 525 is no where near as fast as the 700 raptor. have family that runs flat track with both and flat out , hands down the raptor decimates the 525. no comparison...
im waiting to see a race between a stock kfx700 and a stock xx

@coolaid84 My friend has a raptor 700 with the same mods as me. We went riding Saturday and I was a little bit faster. Our riding abilities are even. 700r and the 700xx are pretty much even dispite what people claim. The xx is lighter, faster, and has way more ground clearence than the kfx700. The ONLY thing I like about the kfx is the sweet v twin sound with an after market exhaust. Hope this helps.
@fastfirstgen yeah actually that does help. but now it comes down to stupid fast or sweet sound. kinda like the automatic tranny too. but then again the xx would make a great addition to my uncle race team. would be sweet since there are a couple 450r tearing up the circuit. the 700 should be a scary feet to see with all the comparible mods of the 450rs to the xx.
do you know how hard or easy it is to lower the xx for flat. i know the kfx doesnt have squat for lowering ability

Actually I think the 525 would take me, they're light and fast as hell. If you notice in the video, once he and I hit our final gear the Raptor wasn't pulling on me. So actually that eliminates the driver thing. The XX just produces a good amount of power but yes, the raptor is for sure lighter. Same with the 700r.

The 450's and Raptors are right there as far as speed. When I hit the trails I hear complaining because they can't handle the rough terrain. This is where the XX excels!
@CodyMcAllister ya as far as performance the xx loses to the raptor and the 450's. the power to weight is awful on them. the ergonomics are nice though which makes them great for trailing which is what they were built for
@CodyMcAllister Same here. I have raced all kinds of bikes in every terrain and nothing can keep up with my 700xx. 79.8 mph top speed so far with 14t sproket.

Not sure about that, but not going to argue, I have a stock 700xx my brother has a rapter 700 with full exhaust and K&N air filter. We run neck and neck like that. I think the 700xx might beat the rapter stock but could be wrong.
The trails there have a lot of deep ruts from trucks off roading. With the 11" of ground clearence I have its a lil' bit easier for me over the rappy.
Yea, my holeshot was great against the 660R. When I raced the 700r I got a lil' too excited off out of the hole and slapped the gas tank against my chest. I had to completely let off the throttle and the Raptor was gone. Keep in mind both the 660R and the 700R that I race are fully built motors!!!
@coolaid84 i read an article in dirt wheels mag and the kfx 700 only beat the 700xx in acceleration and thats it and the 700xx tops out higher

although i don't think it would take a 700xx, and im thinking you won this race due to drive skill, the xx is heavier, and a high comp 660 should have more power than the xx... plus the raptor is lighter

you launched hard and got to speed a bit faster, just because he wasn't pulling on you in his final gear doesn't mean it eliminates driver skill.
the ktm 525 might take you, but the irs one, i think it would be close.
