  • gta sa radio x, great song

  • sa

  • epic

  • Epic Music

  • this song put them on the map back then

  • @ ulikemyskillz13 : Yes, it is. I assume they had another small hit with "In The Meantime", also a great song.

Britney Spears at the background of this song, can it get any worser!? This is a rhetorical question...

  • please tell me this isnt a one hit wonder.....

  • too simple but contagious !!!

    really awesome !!

  • God I love the ending to this song.

They just it break it down on the guitars and drums perfectly. Haunting and spooky stuff, love it.

  • classic

  • Although he is'nt the best singer around, his guitar parts rock. Especially on this album. I like Hamilton

  • These guys look too clean cut.

  • I'm listening to Helmet. Get the fuck away from my background Lady Gaga.

  • i like helmetsm.and this song

  • His voice has that Ozzy thing going on. Awesome.

  • They came around same time if anything pantera stole the riff from them.

  • @sikkkrikkk Neither stole from each other. They essentially were both recording the albums in question at the same time. It's one of those unexplainable total coincidences.

  • @DetSomEngangVar93 Rise is the song your thinking about, no?

  • this is a total pantera rip off. that riff is straight from vulgar display of power... wow what abunch of homos.

  • @DetSomEngangVar93 This album was recorded in 1991 (although released in 1992) before Pantera's Vulgar Display of Power album (which has the song "Rise" that you are referring to) was released.

Essentially, you would have to claim that Helmet was in the studio with Pantera while those guys were recording their album, which is obviously not true. Way to do your research!

  • @DetSomEngangVar93 This was before pantera.

  • @TheIRSMusic Uhhh, this was not before Pantera, jackass. The entire Internet at your disposal and you dumb fuck kids still can't get your facts straight??? You could have gotten that on your cell phone you pathetic piece of shit. Sigh.

  • @keviinmach I am sorry.I didn't know.

  • @DetSomEngangVar93 I am not a big fan of this band, but at least they make way more interesting and fun music than pantera...

  • i love Helmet, actually got this album because i saw the video on an episode of Bevis & Butt-Head from way back in the day. the funny thing was for such a kick ass heavy sounding Metal group, the band members looked like a bunch of Frat guys i went to collage with back in the 90's, no long hair no black or leather clothes, just a bunch of guys in tee-shirts and jeans and shorts, they didn't conform to what the look of a metal band looked like but they sure as hell sounded like one.

  • I saw these guys open for Faith No More at the Boathouse in '93 or '93. Holy shit was that an awesome show. These guys brought the intensity.

  • Check out HateFace-Vlad

  • The look of ACDC, vocal sound of ozzy & guitar of pantera.

  • im hearing this for the first time and i have to say the foo fighters owe alot to this band

  • VEVO whiners, please get Adblock Plus for Firefox. Nuff said.

  • It does not change the damn background picture. :-)

  • oh yeah,in the meantime!!!

  • why the fuck would they advertise lady gaga? im trying to listen to helmet dammit!

  • @Jmac1000000 amen true to that why the fuck would you want to see an advertisement for lady weirdo gaga i cant stand her music today is total shit. the metal scene has died down the 90s brought us good metal bands like helmet and corrosion of conformity circle of dust machine head mutha's day out and dont forget about filter early 90s was where it was at this lady gaga shit has got to go lol.

  • @Jmac1000000 youtube add block

  • Radio X \m/

  • gta sa radio X

  • Reminds me of Kitchen Ace from Doom.

  • The bass in this is legendary

  • Polacy przejmują ten kanał i gówno możecie zrobić!

  • Radio X !

  • Who gave these preppies a rock band? Wear more polo shirts.

  • @protoroc I apologize on behalf of everyone who bathes and likes to look like they shop at a store that doesn't require them to be homeless that they are not rock enough for you.

  • @protoroc

Hold on, let me write this down, OK now, what should we wear?

  • @southrules i think every one knows.Rock n roll is in heart,not makeup.

  • nice shorts

  • san andreas

  • @AoKjoker radio x for life

  • @levigamer09 yeah ;)

  • Saw these guys at a small event, I believe the opened for Violent Femmes. They kicked ass. I have been a fan since,

  • @rdunseith76 The first major "hardcore" act that defied "grunge" and "metal" these guys BROKE the MOLD, so many bands don't realize how much they owe them! This album redefined the early nineties grunge crapola landscape, THANK GOD!

  • Saints Row 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • i just posted a drum cover of Unsung. stayed true to the original. Please check it out.

  • I didn't know John Cena played bass.

  • die young is boring this days!

  • I didn't know Daniel Tosh was the lead singer for Helmet

  • @VEVOTroll - Ha ha ha...damn...I think I just peed a little. If I could have voted you up twice you would have gotten it.

  • @VEVOTroll

Oh my god! That seriously had me cracking up. I'd love to see him reenact this video.

  • sounds like they had a very heavy ozzy infulence

  • The drummer looks like a regular guy

  • @shedontanks John Stanier. Guessing you're new to Helmet? They don't wear over-the-top clothing. They play music.

  • i used to watch this video all the time, then i took an arrow to the knee

  • who the fuck dislikes this! Im sad to see that some people actually have no taste =-(

  • I Did not Know Daniel Tosh sang for Them

  • Looks like a good building to casually play in.

  • Also, this song is so badass it was on the radios of both GTA and Saints row!

  • Sounds like early Kings of Leon (that is, when they were good)

  • Guitar Hero 1 :)

  • Does anyone out there remember the FM radio station KNAC 105.5? I think I remember it was based out of Long Beach CA. This is where I remember first hearing this song. RIP KNAC and rock on Helmut.

  • @thesethingz Except for the hair metal, that station rocked. Except for KROQ, KNAC was the only place on SoCal radio to hear cool bands like Helmet.

  • fuck you vevo i use adblock!!!!

  • that guys shorts look funny

  • @TheScootertooth who likes short shorts? lol

  • 3:02 - 3:28 is some headbanging, thrash, mosh pit kick a guy in the throat type of shit......whooooo duuuh duh duh duh duh duuuh

  • man.vevo sucks.i don't want to look at baby blah blah's face while i'm watching helmet

  • all the gtas and guitar hero games opened my eyes to good rock music. Radio X,V rock, and liberty rock radio!!

  • If you came here to rock, then take a chance and check out the debut music video by my band No More People called "In The Dollar We Trust." Helmet, Metallica and Ministry are 3 of my major influences. You can see the guys and girls in our music video tear it up to a menacing metal groove by clicking on my name. Enjoy!

  • Damn the cocals sound like Ozzy at first!

  • @Honey88Koonce No doubt, the cocals are straight up Ozzy.

  • Doom E1M4

  • I

remember these guys at the BERKELEY SQUARE....MARK G

  • FUCK YOU VEVO

  • gta sa!!

  • GTA SA e True Crime NY

  • Fukkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk VEVO

  • @Devilathor Why? If you dont like adverts get adblock plus, never see another add on the internet, i dont get people who just put up with them

  • @Devilathor Really... Do I want to look at half a screen of Lady Gaga if I am listening to Helmet? I don't wnat advertising at all but come on....!

  • @drmayojr i has a solution use full screen :0 (wizard!!!)

  • @Devilathor they happen to have the highest quality version, so I'm actually thankful to them. I just wish they wouldn't censor their music.

  • @Constipated1337 It's a good point, I said "F**k because the put publicity of Lady Gaga and Britney spears on Rock videos, that's not a good combination for me.

  • @Devilathor i agree man. Why the hell do they try to shove pop garbage down the throats of rock fans?

  • True Crime streets of NY brought me here. This songs awesome

  • This song is fucking BRUTAL!

  • GTA SA & GH !!

  • Tosh. O lol

  • Since I know this band from 1993, this is my first time i heard their song. Oh! My God. At last I found them at YOUTUBE! Thanks KERRANG! mag.

  • JOHN STANIER <3

  • I give thanks to games like GTA SA or Saints Row 2 for letting me discover bands like that!

  • i never understood why helmet was touted as being "the next big thing", they are so firmly outside of the mainstream... silly record labels.

  • That's a Gap T-shirt. I had it.

  • Helmet is like Black Sabbath in the 90s. These guys had such great beats to metal songs. I first heard this on 90s reality bites radio. This is my 27th favorite song

  • Radio X 4 life!

  • Cruising Down the Las Venturas strip at 2 in the morning, this song blasting out of your speakers.

    Life in San Andreas.

  • ... That's ok

  • thx gta sa

  • Will people stop with the "thumbs up if ur watching this becaus eof a video game". Were not like u youngsters

  • This band would have been bigger if they didn't dress like me when I was 7.

  • @letekro Nope, still would have been unknown. They don't cater to the mainstream. What they're wearing was pretty much standard 90s clothing.

  • gta san andreas radio x

  • Who gives a flying fuck about what game was better? You're at a Helmet video. Page Hamilton is the riff king!

  • I miss when Rock music wasn't cookie cutter and was so much more unique, nowadays everything has already been done and all new rock sounds like other new rock kinda makes me want to just shut my radio off because I know how the track list is going to sound for the whole day.

  • @CelsiusTempo Try Opeth.

  • @CelsiusTempo Three words, my friend.

    Sleepytime.

    Gorilla.

    Museum.

  • Like if you listen this song on Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas

  • @GiovanniRocca200796 more like saints row 2

  • @ikwildat San Andreas is more famous than saint row and you cant discuss it

  • @GiovanniRocca200796 i only said that i found this song through saints row 2 and I still listen to it on saints row, I'm not playing GTA: SA anymore but even I admit that GTA SA is THE best game, or atleast sandboxgame.

  • @GiovanniRocca200796 But i can't say that about the other GTA's however.

  • Thank you GTA SA!

  • I LIKE TRAINS

  • Man it's really sad that this is the hit of Helmet, because there are so many better songs by them, like all of aftertaste, and betty, i find this is their shitty stuff

  • @MrMethology i prefer the dubut strap it on-saw em bunches in empty clubs kinda fun dancin by yrself

  • Page Hamilton sounds NOTHING like Ozzy.... but he was their manager in "the Jerky Boys" movie......

  • @Talizen2052 Actually he does if you listen closely. Not fully but his voice sometimes represents it, which I think is cool cause Black Sabbath practically created Metal.

  • Anyone think the singer's voice kinda sounds like Ozzy Osbourne's?

  • @aveslax14

    nope.avi

  • I fucking hate that Gaga Judas ad under my video...

PUT A GOOD AD DOWN THERE DAMMIT!

  • @YoyoingPony dude think of it like this, there is a lot of money for Vevo and Lady Gaga's promoters that went into that little piece of ad, and by people like us seeing it, we can manage to waste their money. ;)

  • I can only listen to this song once a day. Makes my neck muscles too sore to hear it any more than that.

  • Saints row 2 brought me here and even before that...San Andreas, anyone else?

I'm A new fan of this band, though sad I didn't realise them sooner. pure awesomeness!!

  • I didn't know Daniel Tosh was the lead singer for Helmet

  • thumbs up if gta sa came to your mind the first when you heard it

  • @hungaryanhyker actually, it was Madden 10 :D

  • The beginning of this some kinda reminds me of the beginning of the song Jessie, by Paw. Both great songs.

  • The Dead Nobodies

  • I was born when this song came out just a little info about myself

  • Makes me want to play pool!

  • Why the fuck is there a Lady Gaga advertisement while I'm watching this video?

  • Great to find this vid after all these years. I remember MTV's "HeadBangers Ball" and this just stuck with me ever since.

still good 20 some odd years later. Do Others around 32 years old like this?

  • @7Simstim Hellz yea \m/ 34 btw

  • @sallycadillac Sa-Weeet!@ cool cool, thanks for the reinforcement. I've always loved these guys, fairly simple and hard. also to the point and a quick venture away from the main event! back to reality and here they are again! you rock.!. trying to make a quick reference to their song structure.

  • @7Simstim

    34 is ok? :)

I still remember headbanger`s ball too and i think we lived the best era of rock music. So i can say that we were a lucky generation by being in 18-20 years of age in that times...

  • @mail2onur I think I was 11 or so, and was rockin this shit! MTV blows...

  • @mail2onur

Yup, 34 here and bloody good times remembered. Grand Theft Auto San Andreas soundtrack made me think of this and so much more that was great circa '92.

  • @mail2onur im 18 now... :c whats left for us? pop and hip hop and justin bie.... ok, im not even going to whine about this shit again. guess we have to form fucking bands and kick some asses ourselves, maybe a new era of rock is just about to come!

  • @7Simstim Hell yeah. I'm 46, still remember the first time I heard Meantime - not metal, not punk, just loud, hard rock. Saw Helmet play a gig with Beastie Boys in Adelaide, South Australia in 1994. Unusual but excellent bill. Helmet drummer John Stanier also joined Adelaide band The Mark of Cain, who'd recorded with Steve Albini. Stanier did some records and tours when over from USA, some clips on Youtube.
