@ChampCarforlife That sounds great. I think it's a good idea to build new stadiums. But if I was the manager of the Earthquakes, I wouldn't spend all that money on building a new stadium YET. It costs a lot of money. Look it up if you really want to. I would keep the money so I could get some international stars that would attract fans and help the team become really good. Ronaldinho could be a possible acquisition if his ties with Flamengo break. Examples: NY got Henry, LA got Beckham.

@Roy52202 In terms of purpose built stadiums, there is no question. American MLS stadiums usually only seat 20,000. Azteca will seat over 100,000.

That said, the US has no shortage of massive stadiums built for other sports, but may be used for soccer. The Rose Bowl hosted the 1994 World Cup Finals (capacity~90,000) and Ohio Stadium held Columbus Crew games until 1998 (capacity >100,000). Of course, Ohio Stadium was overkill.

Just think how loud BMO field would be with a roof covering the fans. As great as the fans in Toronto are, when it rains, it's probably quite cold, and a lot of the people that would normally show up don't. Just think if they had a roof, place would be full 100% of the time and would be so loud! I have great respect for their fans, and glad Montreal and Vancouver are starting to give them in country rivals!

kansas city plays at a minor league baseball stadium. they move there because they couldn't get anyone to come to arrowhead stadium. the team almost moved out of the city (to portland) a couple of years ago. if they had remained at arrowhead, they probably would have never survived as a franchise.

@vivelavidarocka That is a temporary stadium in kc. Community America Ballpark is a short term fix to the stadium situation. The capacity at CAB is just over 10,000 and they average right around there. Attendance records don't tell the whole story. Next year they will unveil the new soccer specific stadium in KC with a capacity around 20,000. They will have no problem drawing near that game after game. Arrowhead was WAY too big and CAB is WAY too small.
