thanks for posting it. this is my favorite LP song. I love the changes in melody and the vocals are amazing. does anyone know why they wrote this? it was powerful and a clear indictment as far as I was concerned. do they have a connection to New Orleans?

@JRM733 I'm pretty sure this was written about Katrina, though I'm not aware of any relationships between any of the band members and New Orleans. (Does anyone else?) They also did a song for Haiti and again, I don't know of a connection. However, I seem to remember Chester tearing up the first time he sang it live.

Anyway, as for who it's aimed at? Well, I believe it may be a certain administration that people say did little to help during Katrina. And Linkin Park's bashed Bush before.

@TuckerH2 I'm pretty sure they were originally called Xero when Mark Wakefield was still with them. They then changed their name to Hybrid Theory after Chester joined. THEN they changed their name to Linkin Park and named their first album Hybrid Theory. That's just from my knowledge of course, I'm probably missing a ton of facts o;

And Chester would still be working in the fast food business if it wasn't for a friend of their being the president of Warner brothers at the time.

@TuckerH2 Actually, in high school, the band's name was Xero. This was around 1996. In the middle of 1999, they changed their name to Hybrid Theory. Also, I know that Chester came later, however, the band has been around as a team for a long time, and the factor that they can change positions with ease is quite amazing. Linkin Park is by far the best band in the history of the world.
