Whenever a myth insolves strangling or wrestling, it's often a myth involving Herakles. I'm a major mythology nerd, and able to point out many an inaccuracy in this movie, but I love this series.
Actually RunaeMusic poseidon did offer a water spring for the use of man kind but it was salty and not very useful. And then Athena offered an olive tree to mankind and of course the olive tree was more useful then a salty water spring.
What's with this kid and columns? how many times has he destroyed a building by knocking down a column....so many times you'd think he had something against them
This is a great show, so what if they changed the story a little, know it all little bastards don't have to wach it if they don't want to , p.s no one cares about the soposed "truth" about the myths we just want to enjoy the show, . Five stars

Now I'm sixteen, and this show is sheer BRILLIANCE. It's MYTHOLOGY, people! A bunch of stories that can be interpreted in a million ways, not to mention a lot of them are really ambiguous. This show used that fact very well, IMO.
Intersting Fact: Pimentos actually came from the new world and weren't brought back to Europe until after Columbus' voyage. Therefore the pimento-stuffed olive is a perfect symbol of the union between Europe and the Americas

The show was written for both little kids and their parents....people old enough to know not to take the show seriously. Its a VERY clever funny show, and gets funnier.... the older you are.

However, not many people know that the Hydra had nine heads to begin with, and that while eight of the heads would duplicate if they were chopped off, the ninth head was actually immortal and couldn't be killed. The only way Hercules could defeat in (according to legend) was to stun it, rip its head off, bury it under the ground, and place a boulder over it.

@GeminiLibraAquarius no, u spelled everyone of them correctly, and by the way, the most feared creatures are not hydras or cerberus, it was the titans , and cerberus is not dangerous, cuz it is guarding the underworld
@vergilheartnet I'd agree the most feared creatures in the movie of Hercules would be the Titans, but in the traditional Greek myth, I have a feeling the Hyda is slightly worse. Cerberus is dangerous...if you try to escape from Hades :P

thats right. You know, so many people complain about Disney screwing up the myths...and they did...no argument..but in many cases there are several versions of myths to choose from. Like the Bible and the original versions of the old fairy tales, the myths were passed down generation over generation and considerably rewritten and reinterpreted over time.What amuses me is,why people get so mad??? I mean, who cares??? just enjoy the show.You can always read Bullfinches later.

I think I said you can get the movie for free at your local library....why would you want to watch a crappy version 2X2 square on a comp when you can see it on the big TV screen??? You can also buy it cheap at a local thrift store, garage sale or Salvation Army..theyre choking with Disney tapes and DVDs.{I just bought Hunchback for 49 cents at our local GoodWill.We have copies of the TV eps on DVD, by the way. And yes, I think Icarus definately gives Hades a run for his money!!!!

An olive factory is a real snore-ro place to visit, and they were joking about how all schools have the official stupide school trip you go on every year.Ours was the Hackensack Water Filtration System, and you dont know bored until youve seen 30 4th graders being shown a filtration system for the third year in a row. Actual olives were a backbone crop in Greece, an area fairly hard to grow food in and the oil they produced was invaluable for dozens of uses.

Olive oil has been found to be very useful in lowering cholesterol and preventing heart disease, perhaps the reason the Greeks enjoyed a pretty healthy lifestyle{along with climbing all those hills} Plus, what else would you put in your martini???

taking the Hydra down took a heavy cut-n-burn with some help
and Cerberus just had to be version 1.told what to do properly or version 2.wrestled to obediance
