I have the same Bushmaster & have loved it for 8 years. The quality is second to none! I opted for a shorter less powerful scope with no risers & have no parallax problem, yet it still fires tight groups at 100 yds. Scope dismounts in seconds from handle, but can fire through sights easily w/ scope mounted. I prefer the original AR-15 carry handle design for functionality. I get my "Picatinny-lated", light, laser, forearm kicks with S&m MP 22! Great Review of TOP SHELF Quality.
Thanks for stating the obvious about anything on this gun.....you dont have to be head cashier in the outdoors department at Wal Mart to figure out the "parallex problem"....
if you mount some leapould see thru rings on your flat top...they will get you over the fixed sight..they worked for me..3 set of rings later.lol but i have no view at all of the sight in my optic now!
i mount my leaupold rifleman scope directly on the flat top pictinny rail, and i have a fixed front sight assembly. the fixed front sight does not interfear with the line of sight, i cant even see it through the scope. i thought that would be an issue but it wasn't. Bushy DCM
sweet, i own a bushy DCM 1-8, 1'' heavy barrel, it prints .5 to 3/4'' at 100 meters, leaupold rifleman scope. 75grn hornady's with 24.5 grn of varget, all day long
I just got a Bushmaster M4 A3 and was thinking of mounting a scope on the carry handle. How comfortable is it shooting without the delta parallel? I have a telestock and am not sure if they make one that fits. Thanks
Regarding the paralex issue I have the same model, kept the detachable handle stock and purchased a rock river arms "quick release" V style mount for scopes. It is 2 flatheads if you want to really wrench it down or you can have it hand tight, and pop your iron sights on if the situation presents itself. The V style mount elevates it slightly, not as much as yours is, and I can only see my front sight at minimum focus, and then barely. Another way to go, works excellent, looks sexy. 70 dollars.
I don't want to be a troll sir but maybe a little more research was needed before stating somethings on this video. Not all AR-15 rifles are the same and I hate to say it but you payed way to much for this rifle. And not to get into a big drawn out affair here but I have a CMMG 14" with permanent fixed flash suppressor and fixed front sight base and I use a bushnell 1.5-4.5 banner dusk &dawn scope one a 1" riser and on 1.5 power the front sight does show up the crosshair are above it. continued-
@nowthisis2stupid And yes, I have owned a Bushmaster XM15 and the fit and finish was absolute crap. and you like I said I am not trolling just trying to help you out. You can buy a 1" riser from Famous Maker for 15 dollars and use the same scope rings you are using now. And even if you mounted that scope riht on the reciever the even at 6X magnification it would cancel the front sight out, Just trust me, But I suggest the riser anyways.
there are lots of risers available for flat tops that aren't as high as the carry handle rides and yet are unobstructed by the front site. just sayin'. i know this video was from a year ago.
I have Rock River standard A4 with the removable carry handle 20" barrel and it has the same front sight haven't mounted any scope on yet but looks like I'll have the same problem I'll have to dig it outta the safe and look, does anybody know if you can remove the front sight and just put a buis flip up...?
@polarbear959 yes u can, u need a gas block and a flip up sight. the gas has a pictinny rail on it. I would try a scope on your flat top and see if the front sight is visible through the scope, i have a fixed front sight and a scope on a flat top and it works great, cannot see the front sight through the scope. My rifle is a Bushy DCM rifle 1-8 A3
Thanks for the info, Dave. I've been sitting on a Bushmaster upper for quite some time here in California. Recently discovered that us "Cali's" and build a lower with a fixed 10 round magazine. Look forward to some shooting!
Is there anyone that can tell me about th target model a2 with the 20 inch bull barrel. I have 52 acres of land and a short barreled carbine isn't what i need i need a longer rifle with a fixed stock (a2 styled) i want the target model but nobody has a review or video of one they're all just m4 carbines and optics ready rifles. any suggestions. i'm on a tight budget and i'm going to use it for target shooting and coyote and varmint hunting
Great Vid. I got the M4 version of the xm-15 with UTG handguard,512 EOtech reflex scope, MOE Magpul buttstock, and pistol grip, combat latch, with a G2 surefire light with the weapon mount. Quick question. Have you had any problems with wolf 5.56 ammo in your bushmaster? I've had problems with it and now refuse to use it. I have a friend with the exact same model that fires wolf with no problem.
just stay away from wolf they half residue on there cartridges and AR-15's have very low tolerances when it comes to getting dirty just do what you can to avoid that ammo they are very dirty as well i spent 2 hours cleaning mine after my friend took it boar hunting and he didn't tell me he used wolf.

Please sir, do not refer to the magazines as "clips", Because that is using the wrong terminology.

With the scope mounted right on the rail without the carry handle you could just use higher scope rings.
