haha funny at 9:10 when he say's there's less spirit of just wanting to be a climbing dirtbag made me think about all the other sports where it was once cool to just bum and be a "dirtbag"... snowboarding, ski'ing, surfing, skateboarding etc. It's still alive but now that information is so available (we can see whats achievable) and our life's are becoming more transparent it just isn't as cool or desirable anymore. my 2c.

This place looks great! What gets me though is the American mentality, "This is the greatest place on earth", "where heroes come from" X-D. I totally respect climbers and would never doubt that this place has produced heroes but this whole biggest and the best attitude is a part of why americans get a bad reputation.

I agree, that is the american mentality, We like big, best, and baddest things. Why is that bad? I like having big ambitions, its why I moved here from Russia! Hell, if El cap was in my backyard, I would call it the greatest place on earth too. it is! it is one of very few places of its kind, among the bugaboos, baffin island, patagonia, and pakistan. The difference is how accessible it is, which is one of the reasons its so great, and one of the reasons why I want to go somewhere else haha.

Been to the valley lately bro? Its a fucking zoo...its a case of too many assholes running all over the place. I propose that every man made structure except for the shit houses and one Food /Beer/Wine/Climbing gear store be removed from the valley and that no cars be allowed. The only way to get in the valley will be on foot or by bicycle from Wawona tunnel or the intersection of HWY 140 and Big Oak road.

Note: I have also decided that all the parasitic black bears be shot on sight.

I was there last summer and I totally agree with you, its a fucking zoo. It always was from what I hear. The hikers and tour buses think that we climbers are the wildlife, I've never had so many stares directed my way. But i prefer to think that they are the zoo and I am the onlooker. Fucking monkeys.

I hear you man. All those stupid sheep with their fucking mouths moving as they 'commune' with nature sicken me. I'm a Marine but because I had bandanna on, hadn't shaved in days and my hands were taped up I actually had a yuppie kunt move her purse away from me and look 'scared' when I walked by. I climb on the East side of the Sierra's now as far away from the tour bus insects as I can get. And your insight that they are the 'ZOO ANIMALS' is correct one..good call bro!
