you can also do metal but you need to get a badass distortion like boss metal core pedal...i also got a small laney amp which may not be one of the best but it has a great badass distortion..you can do lots of genre's with a fender

Cos i needed a heavy sound i wacked the gain on full, the bass full, middle 9 o clock, treble 11 o clock, and presence about 11 o clock. Ive heard good things about the renowns lead channel but apparently the clean and crunch arent brilliant. To be honest im more of a rock/blues player so the engl has plenty enough gain for that but for metal or anything heavy maybe a different amp would be better suited.
can you please tell me your settings on the amp?

Go for a Gibson, Epiphone LEs paul og ESP/LTD guitars. And Engl amps are great.

Gibson SG or Les Paul! Then tune the whole thing down to B and plug it through an Engl and you will sound metal.

Not using a pedal, its the lead channel on my Screamer. The camera doesnt do it justice though, makes it sound tinny.
