  • I'm just wondering what you are spraying on the rim before you put it in the oven to preheat? Just plain water or some special solution / degreaser..?

  • @TjReal Rinsing with water… degreasers leave residue that would affect the finish

  • so sick, I need!

  • i was wondering if you could tell me what kind of money can be made with this type of business?

  • Shouldn't he have on protection????

  • do you guys by any chance happen to have a shop by the sf bay area?

  • @AndyAkumal We are SoCal only, located just north of Los Angeles. If you have any questions -- even if you go with another shop -- don't hesitate to ask us. We've been in the industry a long time, and are happy to point you in the right direction (we also have killer deals on shipping to and from us, so you may not want to totally discount us if that's where the problem is!)

  • This video has convinced me to have mine powder coated.

But first I have a couple of questions... If the rim has some gutter rash will it still show thru once the coat is finished or will the 'powder' fill up those scratches?

Also, what how much would I expect to pay for 4 17" rims to pe coated?

**I live in australia so i will have to find somewhere over here to do it, but if u guys can fill me in that would be great.

    Cheers!

  • @lank05 Give us a call at 1-818-626-8867 and we can go over the process; most likely you'd be fine, but we'd need more information to be sure. No need to buy from us or anything ;-) We're happy to just answer questions and point you in the right direction!

  • Nice!! I just started powder coating stuff in my garage. It would be nice to have your oven! Lol!! That looks expensive! Lol!!

  • And this is all included in one price?

  • @mj121506 Depending on what you need done, we do have install and loaner fees (if you even need loaners). Give us a call any time and we can go over pricing for your particular set up: 1-800-584-2832.

  • @lawheelandtire but when you heat the rims wont it make them weaker???

  • @blowupuate13 It can be argued both ways. The process L.A. Wheel uses has been around for 50+ years and is used by every qualified, professional powder coater (versus the fly-by night operations). There's really no definitive answer, but there are very few wheels where you'd need to worry...and they are aware of which ones you do have to worry about (remember, OEM wheels are still manufactured by many different companies and have different strengths and weaknesses).

  • If I take u my car will u guys be able to take the tires of the rim? Or do I need to take them of somewhere els???

  • @mj121506 We can take tires off in our install facility, no problem. In fact, we have a "no contact" setup for installing or removing tires, which means that we won't scrape up your wheels when adding or removing tires. We recommend this at all times, but there's a surprising number of places that DON'T do this, which is not ideal.

  • Beautiful white, I want my rims like this.

  • how much would it be to powdercoat a set of 17x9 wheels, there brand new never installed I just don't like the color of them, and what colors would be considered custom colors? would purple be a custom color? how about a white color like in this video? and what color white are you using in this video? lmk thanks!

  • @extosicivic Give us a call at 1-800-584-2832 and we can discuss tons of options in colors and pricing; all depends on what color you choose and how you want to ship things (we have super-cheap shipping labels thanks to our deal with Fedex). You can see a selection of the possible colors at lawheel.com (just click on Finishes -> Powder Coat)!

  • @lawheelandtire Hey, can you guys powder coat a wheel when it already has a new tire on it?

  • @shasha1873 In order to get the powder coat evenly on all surfaces of the wheel, you'd need to take the wheel off and dismount. If you're local to us (Canoga Park, CA, just north of Los Angeles), we can possibly do the work and install, and give you loaners, depending on your vehicle. Give us a call or stop in and we can chat about it!

  • @lawheelandtire Yes, I am in Canoga Park. My car is a 2000 Dodge Viper with Chrome wheels that look like some crap out of 1970's!! I wanted to see if you can make them black or gray or something of that nature.

  • @shasha1873 By all means then!! Come on in or give us a call...if your that close, I'd recommend coming in, because if we can see the car, then we can give you a couple different ideas on what color Powder Coat to use to spruce it up and bring it into the new millennium ;-) Hope to see you soon!

  • @lawheelandtire OK. Thank you very much. I will be there.

  • Just wondering what the cost would be to do this to an old set of wheels that are starting to pit. Cheaper then new ones?

  • @TheOmegaeyes Assuming there isn't much damage to the wheels, then yes, it'd be cheaper to Powder Coat your wheels. Give us a call at 1-800-584-2832 and we can discuss some pricing options!

  • Depends on the size of the wheels and whether you want custom colors or "standard" colors. Give us a call at 1-800-584-2832 and one of our guys/gals can hook you up!

  • thats beautiful??

    how much a rim?
