No i agree, my Wii is soft modded aswell opens it up a whole lot. Regardless though my Wii games are all still original and i don't download games. The American market for Wii titles has been nailed by piracy hence it gets European releases first and many times if only.

@failedlegend Actually, opinions aside, VII, VIII, and X were also this team's projects. Anything after X is Final Fantasy in name only; Sakaguchi, Uematsu, and the others have little or nothing to do with them.
Although Yoshitaka Amano does still design the titles, but sadly PR's typically all Square Enix gives him.

9 did give me hope that they learned from their mistakes but than they went back to the Modern Middle Age Fantasy thing from 7,8 & 10 12 had the right idea but sadly the combat blew...now 13 & 13-2 both MMA & a shitty combat system AND the stupid level up system from 10 not to mention 13-2s QTEs...I swear their TRYING to kill the series.
@failedlegend They're trying to make money no matter what transformation the series takes. The problem is that they're doing this unsettlingly well. One look at Japanese (SE's primary target audience) pop culture (not to mention American weeaboo culture) will illustrate exactly what Final Fantasy has turned into. The two really big signs of this were throwing Gackt in Dirge of Cerberus and turning Yuna, Rikku, and Random Otherchick into a J-Pop group.

I dunno if this is a stupid question, but can someone tell me why a Japanese game has english words in it? Do they actually appear like that in the game or is it simply done in the trailer for the benefit of english speakers?
Why is it always the same people complaining about the graphics. I am from the NES era, so even though good graphics can be a plus I still value originality, gameplay & story more. For instance if a great game like Vagrant Story, Ocarina of Time would be released now for the first time, I'd play it. So if you don't like the Wii graphics just move on. Don't waste your time watching these trailers or our time for that matter with your parrot comments. Try to be original for once.

When Final Fantasy was created, Squaresoft were about to lose everything. doesn't exactly look like my kind of game but I would definitely try it out. I really like the moody humming scene at the end. Really cool, gives off a vibe, sort of like the LoZ Ocarina of Time "Press Start" screen does. That was really memorable for me.

Wii is more powerful than most people think - third parties just seem too lazy to take the time and make stuff look great on it, although some do, and it shows. PC can be upgraded whenever so yeah as far as visuals go it'll win but good gaming PCs are really expensive and I like the gameplay on Wii better for the most part.

Final Fantasy was never meant to have sequels. They were stand alone stories.
The problem came after the final fantasy x release. Square released a video of the characters lives after the game and fans screamed more. Square wanted a sequel Sakaguchi said no. They took his series and he left. Simple as that. Non of the final fantasies after 10 were of his design.
You can make 20 last stories but they'd all be a different story with different characters.
Fail on your research. He never said his last game. He said he was working on it and putting his heart and soul into it as if it were his last game. And he knows the feeling cause he did it at Square. Brought a dying brokerupt company to the top with just his writing and art vision.

I dunno if this is a stupid question, but can someone tell me why a Japanese game has english words in it? Do they actually appear like that in the game or is it simply done in the trailer for the benefit of english speakers?

Why is it always the same people complaining about the graphics. I am from the NES era, so even though good graphics can be a plus I still value originality, gameplay & story more. For instance if a great game like Vagrant Story, Ocarina of Time would be released now for the first time, I'd play it. So if you don't like the Wii graphics just move on. Don't waste your time watching these trailers or our time for that matter with your parrot comments. Try to be original for once.

Man, you really are an RPG veteran; you've played a grand total of two Final Fantasy games! Have you even played the original Star Ocean? Sequels come second, like AFTER you've played the first. I like how you say Final Fantasy 8 and 10 are RPGs. They must be the ones you HAVE played. I also like how you refer to "Role Playing Game Games" twice. That really helps to support your opinion. @skarekrow73 Final Fantasy was called "Final" fantasy as a way to say this is the last one ever, its over. As you said, the situation looked grim.
The reason this relates is because he said if this doesn't sell well, thats it, its over. No more. The title is "The Last story" shockingly similar to "Final Fantasy" Almost the exact same meaning AND he said he will be done if it doesn't sell well.
So use your head and put 1 an 1 together. Sometimes what u get is 11 and not 2.

I'm not retarded. I understand the backstory. However, you're implying that his choice of name for the game indicates that it is another "last ditch effort" and that he is desperate. When Final Fantasy was created, Squaresoft were about to lose everything. In this case, Sakaguchi is no doubt doing well financially (after having MASSIVE success with the Final Fantasy series), and has created his own studio to make some new games.

I'm expressing that I think after making 9 amazing final fantasies this new RPG from Sakaguchi will be a well-made and enjoyable game. When I say lost faith in the industry I mean lost faith in the player base of today, which only wants Call of Duty rehashes and other similarly crap games with no substance.

First of all, I can tell you aren't fluent in English. Before arguing with someone who speaks it, you should probably learn it better yourself. Second of all, every comment I have made on this video has been arguing the fact that I think the game IS going to be good. Your reading comprehension is horrible. Deal with it. Also, I don't have any idea where you get your information from - he was EXECUTIVE producer for FFX. Meaning he was not involved in ANY technical aspects of production. Therefore you are most definitely wrong about how many games he worked on.

If it fails it isn't because Sakaguchi can't make a good game, it's because it isn't call of duty, and that seems to be all people will buy today. Why would you want to keep trying to make good, story-driven, unique games for a bunch of retarded neanderthals that think gaming is only about topping scoreboards and getting killstreaks? Every new game for 360/PS3 that has released recently is just a clone of a previous 360/PS3 game that made lots of money, and everyone is falling for it; buying the same crap, encouraging developers not to bother making anything innovative. Black ops is wayyy over rated- there's nothing special about it! Even though the Wii doesn't have the best games all the time, it's still a great console and continues to have many different genres to play- like party, kids, sports, shooting, rpg- THIS! doesn't exactly look like my kind of game but I would definitely try it out. I really like the moody humming scene at the end. Really cool, gives off a vibe, sort of like the LoZ Ocarina of Time "Press Start" screen does. That was really memorable for me.

Wii is more powerful than most people think - third parties just seem too lazy to take the time and make stuff look great on it, although some do, and it shows. PC can be upgraded whenever so yeah as far as visuals go it'll win but good gaming PCs are really expensive and I like the gameplay on Wii better for the most part.
If I had a good PC i'd be all over portal :D

Final Fantasy was never meant to have sequels. They were stand alone stories.
The problem came after the final fantasy x release. Square released a video of the characters lives after the game and fans screamed more. Square wanted a sequel Sakaguchi said no. They took his series and he left. Simple as that. Non of the final fantasies after 10 were of his design.
You can make 20 last stories but they'd all be a different story with different characters.
