  • @Aydan...i Have guitar rid 5, but I have not these preset. How can get it? Can you send me the related files?

  • Comment removed

  • could you please send me the metallica preset :)?

  • @GeorgiMetallicA Hey mate so sorry for late replies, these presets come with guitar rig 4 as a standard. I didn't make any of these. I was simply testing out the presets which came with it! :)

  • cant get this quality ! =[

  • great playing !!! very good sound demo

  • Can you post the tone directly here?

  • @upkido76 Hey mate so sorry for late replies, these presets come with guitar rig 4 as a standard. I didn't make any of these. I was simply testing out the presets which came with it! :)

  • Thanks a lot man! Love the tone

  • how can i get that cool presets!! ??

  • @JACVA1 Hey mate so sorry for late replies, these presets come with guitar rig 4 as a standard. I didn't make any of these. I was simply testing out the presets which came with it! :)

  • quite the skills

  • Is there a way to download those presets?

  • for some unknown reason, guitar rig does NOT sound like this for me by default, i have to use some corrective eq's in the master fx section and the default cabinets in presets usually sound bad :S it happens on any computer i use, and doesn't matter if i use the rig kontrol inputs or my ua25ex, i can get it to sound fantastic but it doesn't sound the way peoples demos sound :S

  • @freakstupid11 That's pretty odd. I didn't change ANYTHING in the presets so I don't know what the issue could be. What kind of guitar are you using/pickups etc? Also they do say tone is also in the fingers and your dynamics or whatever... I've never had to use EQ nor do I wish to when making my own sounds since I do all EQing after I've recorded or if it was live I'd let the sound man do it.

  • @AydanWatkins yes tone is in the fingers, but sound quality isn't :p i have a epiphone les paul limited edition 1959 with gibson burstbucker pickups, i can make it sound this good, but it requires some tweaking, i bypass all the presets cabinets and run them all through a custom master fx cab/eq set, i always wondered why some people had it sound great by default and some people have it sound like shite, i always thought it was my ua25's fault or something, but the rig kontrol sounds the same :S

  • @freakstupid11 well I use a Line 6 UX2 so it's hardly the top dog of sound cards.. I assume you have GR4/5 set to HIGH in the top right corner of the window? as that can affect tone, also in the setup page where you select your card what quality do you have selected? I use 48,000 or w/e

I'm not sure what it could be through like I said I've never changed the presets in the video or used any EQ. I just loaded 'em up and played. I'm not sure if the EVO's in my JEM had something to do with it?

  • @AydanWatkins ya i always use the hi setting, and usually 48k, 96k made no noticeable sound difference just higher cpu use really

i'm still happy cause my tweaks make it sound awesome, equal or greater than what they sound like here for example so whatevs i guess :S i prolly shouldnt worry about it, i'm happy with my tone :p and a lot of that comes from my headphones i love

  • @AydanWatkins treshold noise gate or something i dont know :D makes too match noise can you help me?

  • @freakstupid11 mee too

  • do u know of any virtual guitars that sound halfway decent?

  • can you get this kind of sound using a virtual guitar?

  • Is this practical for playing live? How would you change settings between songs?

  • @dotsunmoon if your sound card allows midi plugins then you can get a midi foot controller which you can then setup in guitar rig to use to swap between presets and effects. Or you can buy guitar rigs foot controller which also acts as a sound card too. so it's more than useful. However I find myself rarely swapping presets and effects when playing anyway.

  • What song were you playing with the Brian May tone?

  • ta bueno el guitar rig 4 :D

  • everything sounds spot on except for the heavy metal rythm tones,, which is every1 wants lol

  • hey man i would click any of the presets and i would not even hear like a demo. why ?

  • @aldosalomoni Sorry but I don't quite understand, if you could possibly re-write the questions a little better I'd be happy to help you!

  • @AydanWatkins lol yea i dont even understand what im asking. what meant was, if guitar rig had a demo, where i could hear a song, just like a sample, a jimihendrix song using the presets of guitar rig, something like that .

  • How can you get yours to sound like this? Myalways sounds fizzy even with good headphones :/

  • @dokken555 It shouldn't happen so my guess would be that something is clipping, check the input levels, output levels, your cable, your soundcard settings etc.

  • @dokken555 Keep in mind that your interface is very important as well. If you are using an mbox, for example, you have crappy A/D conversion on the way in, then crappy D/A conversion on the way back out. Your tone will suffer as a result.

  • @dokken555 it depends which guitar you are playing with

  • which is better .. m-audio firewire audio interface or a grig kontrol ?

can anyone help me out on this?

    thanks

  • @ryurookie It depends on what you'd want to use GR for. If you just wanna use it to record and jam then get the m audio interface. If you would like to use GR live then get the kontrol since it has switches which you can setup to control all the different things such as effects on and off as well as fast selection of patches. You could still use it live anyway but be limited to one tone/effects settings per song. I'm not a big effects user anyways, I still to an amp an OD for boost and reverb.

  • with the preset form 2:00 you could play black eyed peace....tumbs up for this vid....as much as you can...verry badass video..that helped me a loooot..thank you bro >:D<

  • How did you get rid of the noise??

  • @EduSanchezGuitar I'm assuming you mean hissing from using high gain amps? If so use a noise gate, it's in the VOL tab. There is a global gate at the top next to the input/output levels but I always turn it off because I prefer to have better control. Also 90% of the time I never even need to use a noise gate even when playing heavy stuff, most of the time the amount of gain people use they don't actually need.

  • how to reduce CPU usage ?

  • @blackmetalrockdeath well, you can turn it from HI to LOW next to the CPU useage but it reduces sound quality I think? Don't quote me on that though I've never looked into it and from what I remember trying the sound difference is minimal. I could be wrong. Regarding other CPU speed close down other programs you dont need. Shut down yout antivirus for a bit, as long as you don't download anything and keep yourfirewall up you won't get any viruses. AV suck cpu. or get a new CPU xD

  • @AydanWatkins yeah i always use low and my CPU usage still 50%++. i cant use some of my preset like Eric Johnson. Im using notebook btw :( maybe that is the main reason why my CPU usage is always high.

  • @blackmetalrockdeath that's probably why then, net books don't tend to have fast cpu's since they are designed for the most basic of tasks such as browsing and maybe some document work such as word. I have guitar rig 4 running fine on a laptop but a netbook I wouldn't be so sure. Again you could always try closing your antivirus down temporarily and any other programs with high CPU usage in task manager. be careful of course otherwise it could cause a crash, nothing permenant or bad :)

  • @AydanWatkins ok i'll try , thanks a lot dude :)

  • @blackmetalrockdeath

Have you set the energyoption of your Notebook to high performance? There are different schemes like energy saving, balanced and high performance.

  • @hagerhagson already try it and the result is still same. grr. i really need a new laptop or pc -.-'

  • @blackmetalrockdeath

had no problems with my old Laptop to run two guitar rig applications on HI setting. You don't need expensive stuff nowadays. Bought a 17 inch laptop witch 4 gb and i5 460M for about 620€ six months ago.

  • Finally 1 dislike. Now I can feel like I am truely apart of youtube since I know have a troll :D

  • Which one would you choose since you have both - Guitar Rig 4 kontrol edition or Line 6 pod hd500?! I can't decide!

  • @prettdboy it depends on several things really. are you a live musician? what do you need amp modelling for? will you be using tonnes and tonnes of effects etc. give me some more info and I'll help you out :)

  • @AydanWatkins Thanks alot for your help!! I'm going to be doing more home studio recording but I would like the flexibility of going live (I have laptop). I don't really need tons of effects but I do need just something with an overall great sound for like blues and jazz stuff. As far as go good metal sounds go, I'm not to picky! I'll tell you what I do want though is a great looper! I like the GR4 setup b/c its easy to just drag and drop wav into the loop machine and then take that to your daw.

  • @prettdboy regarding tone i'd say GR4 hands down. the hd500 has some nice cleans and mid gain but anything with more and it falls apart imo, with double tracking it sounds fine but when live its you and one sound, gr4 does everything i throw at it il make another video tomorrow or the day after showing GR4 in a mix. you could use gr4 live using a cable from laptop to the PA for sure, same with the pod hd500. the pod hd500 has better dynamics however. feel free to ask any more questions.

  • @AydanWatkins I don't know how the pod hd500 is on being able to record your loops to the unit and then export....I don't think it can even do that, can it?! Anyways, as you can see I'm a confused and indecisive on which one I should choose! I really like GR4 (demoed) even though I'm confused on how the tape decks work but there is so much hype surrounding the pod500 (great reviews) so anyways you could give insight would be of great help! Thanks

  • @prettdboyi use the tapdecks to load backing tracks into GR itself and jam along, saves you having to use external players. personally id go for a guitar rig 4, if you want foot switches you can get the control but i use it with just the guitar and my sound card, no switches for me so for live it might be a slight issue but at home it's fine. the pod hd500 is good but the tone in GR4 is better. For me tone is the most important part of guitar. feel free to continue asking i've tried the hd500.

  • @AydanWatkins Ok, thanks alot that helps with so much - I totally agree with you on tone! Looks like GR4 it is! Yeah, I'm probably going to get the Kontrol Edition! I like that its a regular midi controller and messing with the demo I already know its going to be a snap to remap (customize) it to GR4!! Thanks again!! I just subscribed AND increased the "Like" count! lol

P.S. - If you could do a vid on how you can jam to a song and record it in the tape decks would be great!

  • @prettdboy no worries pal glad to help. I've been tempted for a pod hd500 myself but GR's tone is just fantastic. i dont use the controller so its super cheap for me. you could buy the controller which is easy wasy i guess, if its midi you could at least use it other midi stuff like rack gear or what not. for tape decks i use the top one, load a backing track in and just jam along. if i record i use a proper DAW program to do it. Not sure if you can record in GR4 ontop of a backing, never tried.

  • 130 likes and no dislikes? new youtube record!! just hope some troll doesnt thumb it down.

  • @ThePencil901 haha thanks :) I'm just here to help people out who wanna hear the nitty gritty of the program. While technical ability is indeed admirable it's about the music and sound. I also think maybe people appreciate there's no talking nonsense, I just get right into it and play. I hate watching demo's where people talk more than playing, kinda ruins the whole point xD

  • Every time I close my project, all my vst plug ins are fine and reload once I reopen the project--EXCEPT GUITAR RIG 4--it never saves the settings! It loads the dry guitar sound & all knobs on the "amps" reset at 0. I have to reload the preset every time. Anyone know why?

  • can anyone pls reply to me ill sub if you answer my question! okay so i loaded up guitar rig 4 presets... and it only gave me like half of everything... its only til dual vintage riff or something. PLEASE HELP I WANNA LOVE RIG 4 BUT I CANT :'''( help!!!

  • @Mastahboys do you mean half the presets or something? If so go into the options and try restoring factory settings or something, it reloads all the presets.

  • Just to clear things up since I get a lot of questions about this same topic:

Every preset you hear in this video comes with Guitar Rig 4. I didn't make them and I didn't modify them in anyway. I simply clicked on the preset and played some stuff :)

  • share your presets T.T

  • @rinegan11 Right, I need to clear this up despite mentioning it several times :)

Every single preset I use here comes with Gutiar Rig 4. I did not modify them in anyway, when you install the program they come WITH IT.

  • what were the settings on that "tremolo setting"? the one that sounded like Buffalo Springfield?

  • 140 likes without any deslike ? that's a great record mate!

  • @realjuvelive Haha thanks it is quite nice. I don't spend too much time signing into youtube but I think I just might start doing some serious gear reviews in the style I'd like them which is less talking and more playing.

  • @AydanWatkins do you use any other software with guitar rig? and how do you do that?

  • @realjuvelive well i play about with pod farm and i've also had a week of trying out a Pod HD500. When you ask 'how do i do that' I presume you mean recording? If so I simply record it using mixcraft using an external sound card...

  • @AydanWatkins yes how do you make the setting for guitar rig on mixcraft?

  • @realjuvelive sorry for such a late reply mate. I open guitarrig as a stand alone program, my mixcraft is setup to record the audio from it. I have my system set up a little different to most people. I have my guitar into my soundcard (Pod Studio UX2), which is connected via usb, but I also use a mini jack to stereo 1/4 jacks which go into the outputs of the pod and into the mic insert on my pc. this way i can record what I monitor through the MIC input. works perfectly for me :D

  • @AydanWatkins Thanks I have usb interface tascam us-100 I also have mixcraft but can you show me or tell me how to make the set up on mixcraft to use the guitar rig on it hope you reply this time as well!

  • @realjuvelive my setup is VERY odd but it works. i use a stereo monitoring out from my sound card into my MIC input on PC (the little pink jack input). from there went into my sound settings (the little speaker in the windows taskbar) and unmuted all the mics, inputs and all that stuff. opened mixcraft, went to prefrences, set my sound so the realtek, recording input from the mic input. that way when i played it recorded. try audacity first then mixcraft, i dont know how but it fixed it. odd.

  • @realjuvelive Now that you mentioned it, some douche had to come and hit dislike.. :/

  • @MisterJetta I guess the production quality of the vid is pathetic but I just wanted too let people hear the thing. People can work out what it does from the website and manual :P

  • hey, very nice presets, where i can get this presets? please

  • @WaLLGunN

Every single preset I use here comes with Gutiar Rig 4. I did not modify them in anyway, when you install the program they come WITH IT. :)

  • HOW TO PLAY PER PRESETS???????!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • nice pleing and good sound

  • This is one of the most amazing programs ever. XD

  • Hi everyone, I have downloaded presets that I want to use but they won't open. I go into import in the menu and it does nothing when I click on them. Do you have to drag the presets into a certain folder? And by the way I have some of those presets you have on this video but not all of them. Can anyone please help? Thanks :)

  • Good job but do you have video tutorial to learn how to get guitar rig for free?

  • IT IS EASY TO RECORD smth on guitar rig. You just have to use loop machine and when you record smth you can export it as wave file.

  • Hey guys I just want to say thank you all for over 45,000 views! I haven't followed youtube much but I think I will from now on! Expect some new things coming up soon guys and I hope this small demo was a help for many of you. I plan to do some more gear demos and samples soon as well as my own small little covers and other bits. Thanks for all your support and any questions I get from now I will try and answer ASAP.

  • @AydanWatkins

can you please let me know what speakers or external amp you are using with the rig 4 here.

    thanks

  • @AydanWatkins sweet.. i just stumbled upon this video, and i'm looking forward to hearing more of your playing :).. i especially liked your random playing with the 80's solo preset. Do you know of any websites that have more GR4 presets for download?

  • how do you record it?.:)

  • how do u get your guitar sound to your computer? :P sorry im new with computer guitar stuffs ;)

  • U2's preset wasn't sounding full enough, it sounded really nice though, the 80's one is stunning :P

  • @williamgag You can modify the sounds to change them however you like.

  • Which kind of audio interface do you use? Thanks.

  • I click Import and try to import the presets and it doesn't work, i downloaded the version of off the Native Instruments site, did I do something wrong, please comment

  • Rhoads needs more gain

  • that steve vai tone. oh my god

  • hey, how do you plug in new presets? i just can get them straight

  • Do you know how to open this program in Cubase (LE4)?

    thx:)

  • All my presets are missing. I formatted my computer and installed GR4 as usual.. but my presets are nowhere to be found. I've tried everything.. help? I really miss playing with this. Great vid btw.

  • I have a ux2 and guitar rig4. Do you know how i can use them toghether for recording?

  • they sound extremely well.....

  • "Random surfing tone" XD

  • how to be a sound way of setting the mesa ?

  • where do you find these presets?

  • holy fuck, the Steve vai sound is just... man, i have no words. LIKE HEAR STEVE HIMSELF

  • im getting this just because of the malmsteen sound.. just some tone adjustment and there you go:) !!!!

  • I did a boulevard of broken dreams by green day guitar cover using guitar rig 4. Just check it out in my channel. I used the acoustic simulator preset and used the street of broken dreams preset.

  • You didn't play the "pull my theater" preset for the pull me under by dream theater, the "street of broken dreams" preset for the boulevard of broken dreams by green day

  • Dude, please is there any way you can give me the surfing present please i really need it.

    Great video by the way

  • @Surfalistic the preset is already in guitar rig

  • hello brother, those sounds you've created, or has the download? very good! earned

  • @marcelotagimak1 All the sounds are presets which are in the Guitar Rig 4 Download :)

  • @AydanWatkins SLASH tone `? AFD ``?

  • @AydanWatkins

    what sound card you used?

  • Hi there, i've got one question also, so im kinda begginer , and want to know do u have any procesor of sound or just directly plugged in giutar in computer?

And will it work on every computer xD? thx

  • @sekilol you need to use the asio sound card if you don't have the guitar rig kontrol

  • Hi there!

Nice clip, but a quick question.

Are you using the normal interface of guitar rig and just standard presents?

Have you anything changed on the tone?

    Thanks!

  • @DerJust661

I plugged in through a line 6 ux2 lol. not the best unit to use but it works for playing, but i cant record with it sadly.

All presets are standard I have not changed anything. I play through an Ibanez Jem7v and my playing style probably contributes to the tone more than just the modelling though.

  • @AydanWatkins Download FL studio and you can, man!

  • I did just like you said factory restore then I restarted the program I think it works now but i don't know how to make demo for the presets to listening though XD do you know how ?

  • Btw how to play the presets demo?

  • I got guitar rig 4 free yesterday but there are no presets on it though where to get those then ?

  • @realjuvelive Sorry for the late reply,

You need to go into options and there is something like "factory restore" or something like that. Click it, then they should all be there. it's an issue with windows 7 having a different document setup to previous versions.

  • @AydanWatkins Well I have windows XP and also vista how to play on presets?

  • @realjuvelive Have you actually tried what I suggested? ;)

That's all it took for me to fix it. If it still doesn't work then since you got it "free" then my assumption is that it's illegal in which case I can't help you. I don't deal in that stuff.

  • @AydanWatkins XD I got it yesterday!

  • I modified the Yngwie preset and now it sounds really like Yngwie's "Rising Force" tone. Check my channel for the preset.

  • The Metallica tone had to be the best of them all

  • Rhoads preset was not even close. U2 and the 80's Solo were nice.

  • can u send me these presets ?

  • Please dude, next time METALLICA FIRST!!!!! LOL!

  • wow! Fantastic!

  • Fantastic demo man, but i think the best tone is in your hands....

  • So in the VST it doesn't say "guitar rig Pro" ? still just guitar rig even thou its pro ?

  • wow ausome tones!I do have the guitar rig software but i dont have the rig control.I have an m audio sound card. Can i get the same results?

  • @gjk200000 yup. im using a crappy line 6 ux2 *good for what it is though*. Only thing to remember is use an ASIO 4 ALL driver to lower the latency unless the drivers you use are good enough or already are asio.

  • @AydanWatkins ouuuu thx a lot man that was really helpfull.Another thing:I m downloading the software....is that ok or i have t buy the original????

  • @gjk200000 well you can download the demo and you have access to everything, however i don't think you can save pathetic, also the program will close every 30 minutes. If you're acquiring it by "other" means I'd be careful. It certainly harms companies more than people may think.

  • @AydanWatkins You think your stuff is crappy? I'm using a 1/4th to 1/8th audio converter, which means I have to put the noise reduction on everything, especially that goddamned Heavy 800 tone.

  • @007guy19 y dont you get a 1/4th to usb audio converter, makes the sound digital so it wont be as feedbacky so less noise gate and these cost like 10 bucks on ebay problem solved

  • i connected this straight to my computer with my guitar but as you may know when you connect you get a clean sound by jsut connecting the cable so when i set an amp up i here that clean tone and barely the actual amp sound so how can i fix this?

  • @mmim4 what do you connect your guitar to your pc with?

I use an external sound card you see. so when I have NO programs running I have NO guitar sound at all. Sorry if I read your question wrong!

  • @mmim4 I think youre using the mic-input of your pc to connect your guitar. and normally, this is not the most professional way to do it. use an interface!

  • Yeah, good play and nice sound !

  • Could you get a doug aldrich type tone ?? if so could could you make a video for me ??? Btw, the vid is great! very realistic to real tones :)

  • hahaha that vai tone is right on!

i almost thought it was the recording...

  • is there any way of getting this tone on your guitar say for playing out ?

  • @emmetwhitey you could always take your laptop with the sound device you use and plug theoutput of the laptop or sound card into the pa system. I did it, works pretty well but make sure you got a good amount of volume on the system so you can be loud enough with drums and whatever else. another idea is to run the outpout into a keyboard amp, they tend to not colour your tone at all so.

  • @AydanWatkins good idea, but if I did this live with my notebook. the chance of a crash would be 40 % I guess when playing with no latency :D

  • @simulator94 Buy a better notebook then :P lol... I've used guitar rig live in a band setting and had no problems. Just make sure you got a good PA to push your sound.

  • @AydanWatkins my notebook's alright. the driver and the connection from the interface to the notebook causes those problems sometimes. apart from that, a good PA can rock everything!

  • The Brian May tone is cool, all you need now is a ten pence piece haha

  • I Havent done too much research yet myself but can you record using this? im looking for some sort of software with plenty of effects with amp models and the ability to record, any suggestions?

  • @musicman9901 Logic express

  • Wow, I can't get this kind of tone at all... please help me... I can't make it sound good :((

  • Fantastic Video, I wish you could do a similar one for Amplitube 3.

  • @snipperacoustics thanks for the nice comments buddy. Hey that's a thought. I may try that tomorrow if I have some free time. I did try amplitube 3 very quick but i found the presets VERY mediocre at best. I'm sure it's amazing if you know how to use when making your own tones though. But GR4 presets sound great imo.

  • i never thought than a SOFTWARE would be capable to sound like that Holy Shit Sounds Awesome !. Great video man :D !.

  • @ricardosay Tell me about it! and these are only basic presets. If you understand how to use EQ correctly and have a lot of time to tweak and experiment you can create some godly sounds from this thing!

  • @AydanWatkins Nice playing man and ty for the video. Can you plz tell me is it better to get M-audio sound card or just to buy Guitar rig 4 mobile? ANd i will have a prob with 2.1 not so expensive speakers ( 2 small 1 woofer ) ty

  • @WutangClan4LiF3 No problem, thanks for the kind comments. Well it's up to you on which one. Mobile has less amp models and features I believe. Also, I THINK that with mobile you won't be able to use other programs for guitar modelling. Don't take that as fact though. The M audio box should have several inputs including mic inputs for more fuller options in terms of recording depending which model you buy. So reallt its up to you. as for 2.1? umm im not sure what thats all about XD sorry haha

  • @AydanWatkins thanks for your answer man. When i say 2.1 i mean 2speakers and 1 bass woofer. i dont have 5 speakers and 1 woofer like some guys thats what i mean hehe.I Downloaded by torrent a 200 mb version and i see like 50-60 presets and lots of effects. DO you think that with the M-AUdio i wont have any prob in sound quality? i mean the Rig kontroller is made for that prog so i guess better result bu with the rig kontroller you cant use Amplitube for example.

  • @WutangClan4LiF3 ahh i gotcha. I use a lame 2 speaker 1 bass woofer setup and it sounds fantastic so I wouldn't worry to be honest. ahh nice, well i think the m audio should work fine, in terms of sound quiality and what not. As long as you have the asio 4 all drivers installed too for NO latency. mt latency is like 1ms which is as good as you can get. Also I run it on high quality in the program etc and this is with a cheapy line 6 ux2! the m audio will be the best bet to use other programs too

  • @AydanWatkins soz for 100 questions man this is the last hahahah. WHen you say you got the Line 6 ux2 Line 6 isnt AMps? or its a sound card

  • @WutangClan4LiF3 no worries man, wish I had some help when I was starting to get into this whole software modelling stuff. Anyways, the ux2 is basically a sound card. It works alright but personally i'd swap it for an m audio anyday since they are far for more versatile in what they work with, the ux2 is a little tempermental and doesnt like other programs very much but for the cheap price and since i only use modellign for practicing i didnt mind. real tube amps with a line 6 M13 all the way ;D

  • @AydanWatkins oh ok man 10000 thanks for your help really appriciate it. Now i m sure that if i get that sound card at least i ll play clear alll sounds of rig and amplitube ty

  • Does anyone think that this is better than most processors out there? As i use this with an M-Audio Fast Track Pro and this thing is very close to the real thing.

  • are you using mixer and audio interface ?

  • what speaker do you play out of

  • sounds amazing ,, how much ??? haha
