I'm a die hard fan of Whitney Houston. I knew her since I was 10 and now I'm 12. Her voice always sounds great to me. I also love Aretha Franklin, Etta James, Barbra Streisand, Patti Labelle, Celine Dion etc. but there's just something special about Whitney.

Over the years, Mary J. has really softened her image. Her presentation is now much more feminine than it was then.

It's a trip that Whitney didn't have her full chest voice that night, but she did have her head voice. I'd think that the falsetto would be more vulnerable.

Aretha has good instincts for ad libs, but then she IS Aretha Franklin.

It's funny how they--mainly Aretha, CeCe, and Whitney--were trying to out shout each other to end "Count On Me."
