What would you recommend for a replacement head? I tried an evans reverse dot and the drum sounded flat. I am having a heck of a time getting the snare to sound right.

These snares start at 800 clams....and up. IMO, they are the ultimate solid shell snare. Thinking how wood resonates, it doesn't get better than this for pure wood tone.
