Folks, if you really want know what this is all about, type into the Youtube search engine "Ancient Aliens" from the History Channel and you'll see the whole story that will be laid out for us over the next few years. I am certain that this is the start of the alien hoax, and NASA's role in the hoax will be to conduct "findings" of current or past life on Mars, Europa and other planets to legitimize the "Ancient Aliens" bull shit being promoted by the History Channel, as Michio also promotes.
@SimplyCKP Here is Michio at the 1:36 mark of the video: "We realize that perhaps DNA can get off on different environments or perhaps there was cross fertilization between mars and earth. Some people believe that maybe life started first on Mars and seeded the earth, so if you want to see a Martian tonight, look in a mirror."
Expect more propaganda of this type as time goes along.

@Tomek0102 yeah well... the 2.1 triillon dollars the US spends on defense would feed everyone on earth and then some. So, before you criticize what you don't understand. Think about this, we spend more money on killing people than we do helping people. I think that spending that money to learn a little bit more about the universe is well worth it. btw, if you're concerned about feeding people why don't you volunteer at the salvation army or something. Don't be selfish.
@n987 How is it worth it?? What good will it do to the people of Earth, if they find microbes on Mars? Even if all of us volunteered at the Salvation Army and all the wars that kill people were stopped, this would still be a tremendous waste of tax payers' dollars. Instead of cutting entitlement programs, we should cut NASA lose and use its budget of $18 billion, still a huge amount, to support the programs that actually help people.
@iXelsior Actually it was the space program that helped with the invention of everyday things like computers, fabrics, medicine, cheap electronics, communications, transportation, data management and a lot more. How about we cut spending money on building more weapons a start funding on education, something that you sir, do lack. 18 billion, the wars costs that much a week. I think you have very skewed priorities. if I didn't know better, you sound like you're against America and capitalism.
@n987 Ah, yes! The by-products of the space program, an old and tired argument that has been used by NASA fans to justify the spending. All the things that you mentioned would have been developed outside of the space program context, and probably for less money, anyway. What is the use of an experiment that is done in weightlessness, here on Earth? Most research done during the manned program is to find out how humans adjust in outer space. How is that useful here? How do you justify that?
@n987 NASA would have you believe that it is actually doing wonderful things with our money. For example, the OCO was supposed to study the effects of global warming. The $278 mil dollar package fell back to Earth. Just like that, the money was gone. Point is, that money could have gone to other earthly scientific research which would have more direct and immediate effect on our daily lives.
@n987 Let me give you an example. What would be more use, a research done on rocket engines that probably could result in a by-product of improved airplane engines, or a research directly aimed at improving airplane engines which most likely will improve them? The spin offs of the space program are greatly exaggerated. The logic that that research done is to improve human life is circular, because that research is done to support the manned space program. Don't you see that?
@n987 In case you didn't read, My first reply included the implication that I am not for the war effort either. It is also a tremendous waste of money, and obviously much more significant than the space exploration waste. However, every penny counts, and it is kind of needed more here on Earth. I am an American, and for capitalism, which is why I believe that it is now time for Space exploration to be privatized. I am well educated, so no need for insults. I just don't agree with you.
@iXelsior You sir, are a traitor to America's efforts to expand scientific knowledge. How dare you justify not sending robotic missions to space? You'd rather see the Chinese up there? Are you saying that We as Americans should just give up, just because finding life doesn't mean anything to you? This is the home of the brave, sir. IF you're too cowardly to say that I support my country, I suggest you get the fuck out of the land that I love so much.
@iXelsior You are nothing than a communist hating coward. I say, that we don't support the space program enough!. I want America to be #1 in space either by going back to the moon or discovering new things about the universe. I bet, you just want to give up and let the Chinese, Indians, and Europeans take over space while we just sit around and solve more practical problems like cutting medicare and pushing more funding toward defense. You make me sick!
@n987 Also, have you ever been to any kind of school? I said that we should privatize the space program, and you are calling me a capitalism hater? Do you know what the word "capitalism" means?
This is awesome !!! A great friend of mine, Bruce Damer works at Nasa and designed the first robotic landing station that was placed on Mars. He also owns Creative Commons :O)
