The bible also claimed that god stop the movement of the sun which is not backed by any understanding of gravity, which was to be discovered 2500 years later. Where does the bible claim to say the earth was round? The early church fought any discovery of science. Early scientists were at risk of prison or death for suggesting that the earth was not he center of the universe. Better check you biblical and historical facts.

... If so, can you please explain why in Hosea 11;1 "my son" is explicitly identified as Israel ("When Israel was a youth I loved him, and out of Egypt I called my son"), but the author of Matthew took the last part of the passage out of context and applied it to Jesus? Thanks.

Even if Jesus was a real person, that in no way proves he is the son of god. Only proves that he lived.
And if 79 percent claims that Jesus rose from the dead, only means that 79 percent are wrong.
Why do you feel that because a majority thinks something, that it is fact. That is not at all reasonable.
And yes these statistics do not go away, but they also mean nothing in the whole scheme of things.
