Cupra: VAG 1.4 TSI engine with lot of torque, nice gearbox.

Clio RS: -low torque, lazy engine at low rpm, stiff suspension and superb handling.

Verdict: Renault is little bit faster at track, but Cupra is much better fuel consumption, and significantly bettter acceleration, because of DSG and Turbo-Compressor TSI engine.

I would choose TSI anytime.

@shibby970 So what? N/A 2 litre vs 1.4 liter TSI ? It is fair comparison. Also, TSI has all that horses and torque at wheels, clio doesn't. If you comparing TSI and 2.0 16v N/A, you will see, TSI has 100% of 260Nm at 1800rpm, and Clio has only 80% of ~190-200Nm. TSI with DSG has also short gearing, because of that Cupra looks more lively at lower rpm.

Compare that Clio with old Honda Civic EP3, you will see, that Honda is much faster than Clio RS. Curb weight is same. Clio has not 200HP.

my point is, still valid. straight line speed,bhp,and torque are always higher with a turbo/supercharged car despite a smaller engine, the abarth panda is a 0.9l car capable of 8.5-60 and 110 top end, you couldnt find a 1.2/1.3 nasp car within 3-4 seconds of that to 60.

@RdcsVtec You're right. But if you want, I'll do the test: Ibiza for small cities. Clio for small sports :-) The Clio is much better cornering, long or short. The Ibiza is too soft on its lines, it is completely deviated from its tragectoire when turning fast. For cons, the best return to the accelerations Cupra ;-) (Sorry for my bad english, I'm French)

@oO0XIII0Oo your english is just fine. I could understand, but what I meant wasthat the video shows absolutely nothing, in fact there is no test, it's only advertising to asome magazine. Nevertheless, it's obvious that both cars have diferent approaches, and I don't think that one is better then the other, they were created with different purposes, one for racing (renault), and the other for fast, super-fast daily car. When you refer to understeering, it's common on VAG's although the XDS helps.

The Clio 3 RS is the 1st and by far especialy on a circuit

The Cupra is just a nice engine (made by WolkWagen of course ^^) made for run 0-100kmh in a straight road for example ^^ but for the rest it is behind the Clio 3 RS which is more a true full Sport car in all domains

@blackspiral69 I've been looking around at some reviews, and have found that the hothatch favourite seems to be the Clio 200 CUP. I have heard little to nothing about the Cupra, I'm not disputing that it's a nice looking car, however I can confirm that the price of the Clio in this video is certainly not £19,650 (more around £16,495).

I do not own either car, so I believe my view is unbiased, I can only state what I have read so far.
