Uh...who told you that 'serious' hikers don't wear sunglasses? The cat with the spindly white legs? Hope not. Because real hikers don't have spindly white legs.
Wear your shades if you want. You'll still be serious.
Wow, the parts of the AT in your video look nice and inviting. I've never been to Shenandoah. I have hiked a few stretches of the AT in Great Smoky Mountains, and the trail was almost torture, especially between Newfound Gap and Charlie's Bunion. It almost destroyed my knees. :)
Really enjoyed the video- thanks. As a hiker, I am planning a hike there- just need more planning. I also loved the book you displayed- "A Walk in the Woods", it brings a good amount of history as well as humor into the subject.
Well done. I'm a California mountain hiker and it's always cool to see the differences between East and West trails. They're completely different animals. But what they have in common is what matters. Dirt, rocks and boots.
Your leaking water bladder is the exact reason why I went to 2 qt water bottles after experiencing the same situation on-trail. My bladders kept leaking from time to time and I gave up on them. The same goes for collapsable bottles. They get weak, leak, and punctured to. A two quart apple-juice bottle, or two liter soda bottle, with a hole drilled on top of it and a hose inserted and sealed off with silicon seal, can keep your water hose handy as you hike. They also weigh 1/3 to 1/2 as much.
Thanks for sharing the gorgeous photography. It's June in Yosemite National Park and that means Hiking time. Check out our Yosemitevacations channel name below /
@dlinechamp78 - Been hiking for about 45 years and have done thousands and thousands of miles. The worst time to hike is during the middle of summer. I'd much rather do it during winter.
@tom6612 Thank you for the heads up. I cannot stand the cold. i was born in Suadia Arabia and grew up in Iraq so i am used to beautiful hot dry weather. I'm also intrested in Mountain hikes and trails. But, would love it in the summer. :)
@dlinechamp78 - Yeah it's all a matter of personnel preference i suppose. I'm Dutch, Irish and German living in america. All northern European countries or close to Northern European countries so i'm happiest when the temp is 75 degrees or lower.

Need your feedback for a new navigation game design for iPhone devices, called MATMON.
Matmon is based on missions that you create directly on your device (There is no need to load coordinates into your iPhone).
You can also share your missions using Bluetooth with other iPhone devices - to enable multiple players to play simultaneously.

My Camelbak leaked the first time I used it and Amazon replaced it. I'm kind of disappointment with Camelbak.

IMO the yummiest part of the Appalachian Trail is in New Hampshire.

When i saw the 97 degrees on your car, my face went down thinking of how lucky you are. I'm in Michigan and we just had a horrible blizzard!!! :(

Yes, it was so nice. How far are you hiking? Did you also find the Shenandoahs one of the nicest parts of the Appalachian Trail?
