It's great to see Griff and Marty play together. Both of you are excellent instructors as well as very good guitarist. I play and teach guitar myself. However, as you already know, it's always good to watch and play with other guitarist to pick up new tricks and techniques. I would like to see more video's on getting good sounds and effects.
I can't believe the PAP (a.k.a. shite) that some viewers will impart with these "free" lessons. Oh- to be so perfect-move on and watch someone else will ya?
This lesson is as cool as, i am a member of BGU only for a few months and am about 1/4 of the way through. if that. this lesson really opened up a few doors for me, just got me playin with some different chord shapes and what ever. cheers.
Have purchased 3 different DVD sets from BGU ~ Griff Hamlin and have learned a lot of new and what I thought I did know, but humbled in what I didn't. Good to see Marty and will check him out as well. Thanks both of you for the time in doing this video and that two instructors are willing to work with one another to help those of us wanting to learn and improve.
I am self taught and learn from gentlemen like yourselves. From what I hear, read, and 'mistakes' that make the sound. Thank you for your posts (some of it works on the bass, no matter what genre I play). Thank you again!
lol@steven I had the same learn to play with the kingston trio record. Had lemon tree, green back dollar and a few others. That, chuck berrys greatest hits and jimmy reed live at carneigie hall were my only teachers for a long time
I like you two guitar teachers, but it came over to me that Griff was more talking to Marty than us and wanting to show that he can play a lot more on his guitar?.I could be wrong but that was how it came across to me.Still I have lessons from both of these great guitar teachers.
I'd like to hear a little more "processed" tone. People are saying you have "great" tone, but, I prefer the "Eric Johnson" tone way more. I guess I'm asking for too much in a free basic blues rhythm video. Sorry. Also, any tips on how to transition smoothly from rhythm style to lead? Anyway. Have a happy holiday!
Hey Griff... Where were ya when I needed you~? ...in the '60's all I had to learn from was the kingston trio. ...3 chords and go home.... oh well.... now my fingers don't work so well........... that's life~!!!!!
Oh yeah..I sense a bit of Animosity growing about mid to half way through...LOL ! Perhaps a drunken girl, wedding reception, another's date..ahh the Blues...LOL !
I've always enjoyed Griff's lessons; twice as much now with Marty. This is the best so far. Curious about the cameras you use: I like the quality. You know, just in case I want to upload a sample of what I've learned. ;-P
Great. You two should consider combining your bands for next years Crossroads competition. How could they pass you up? It would be awesome with two basses, two drummers and the whole host of other musicians and blues singers. A real wall of Blues Sound.
Otherwise thanks again for the enlightening lessons.
you're both really gentle with each other ...it's wonderful to watch you both give each other space.
I can learn a lot from both those musical parts.
Just a thought .... I'd love to have seen you demonstrate a two or three minute jam at the end of this video...... not being picky but more like the feeling of great bacon and eggs but without the coffee :)
I REALLY appreciated waking up to this and .... hey .... I can make my own coffee .........so thanks again for breakfast.
@surfco What'ta ya' mean "us?" He was givin' the finger to YOU, hodad.
