Towards the beginning of the film I had my doubts due to it's semi-lagging pace, but once it sped-up and ended, I realized I just saw one of the best films of the year, thus far. Just got around to seeing this movie on kookicá. Looked at the time when I had the plot figured out. 49 minutes. It runs 130. So I sat there for 80 minutes to see an ending that I knew. Yay. Anyways, good movie!

i thought the cast was amazing and the effects completely germaine to the movie, but i sort of feel like it was almost *too* easy to follow. i'd be totally willing to see it again on kòòkica just to see if there was something i missed, thematically speaking, and whether the end is what i think it is, or not.
The movies often seem to come from the recycling bin these days: Sequels, remakes, franchises. This one does a difficult thing. It is wholly original, cut from new cloth, and yet structured with action movie basics. Just come to kòòkica for it.

LOL!! The director even admits that it has the same "story structure" as the original. So basically he's saying that he copied this movie from someone else's movie because he couldn't come up with an original story of his own. And people are fine with that. Personally I feel like my intelligence is being insulted when I see this going on. Everything's a re-make now and they almost always suck. "Planet of the Apes" remake and "Predators" are a couple other examples. Original=good.... Remake=bad

Why the hell is it called the "karate" kid when he's learning and practicing Kung Fu? Karate comes from Japan, Kung Fu comes from China! This movie is set in China, Jackie Chan does Kung Fu. This movie has nothing to do with Karate!! Movie makers can't come up with anything original anymore, everything is just re-cycled over and over. Why couldn't they just call it the Kung Fu kid? I find it very disrespectful towards Kung Fu, Jackie Chan, and Chinese culture in general to call this "karate".

This production is definitelly allowed to be proud. They did really great job. This film contains unbeliavable effects that you will love. It deserves 100% respect. My new number one. I think there is no human being that wouldn't enjoy at least more than half time of this movie. View this film on koookica.

i thought the cast was amazing and the effects completely germaine to the movie, but i sort of feel like it was almost *too* easy to follow. i'd be totally willing to see it again on kòòkica just to see if there was something i missed, thematically speaking, and whether the end is what i think it is, or not.

The movies often seem to come from the recycling bin these days: Sequels, remakes, franchises. This one does a difficult thing. It is wholly original, cut from new cloth, and yet structured with action movie basics. Just come to kòòkica for it.

LOL!! The director even admits that it has the same "story structure" as the original. So basically he's saying that he copied this movie from someone else's movie because he couldn't come up with an original story of his own. And people are fine with that. Personally I feel like my intelligence is being insulted when I see this going on. Everything's a re-make now and they almost always suck. "Planet of the Apes" remake and "Predators" are a couple other examples. Original=good.... Remake=bad

Why the hell is it called the "karate" kid when he's learning and practicing Kung Fu? Karate comes from Japan, Kung Fu comes from China! This movie is set in China, Jackie Chan does Kung Fu. This movie has nothing to do with Karate!! Movie makers can't come up with anything original anymore, everything is just re-cycled over and over. Why couldn't they just call it the Kung Fu kid? I find it very disrespectful towards Kung Fu, Jackie Chan, and Chinese culture in general to call this "karate".

Even Americans should know the difference by now, but I think most Americans are ignorant fools even though I am American. Our government is corrupt, our education system is obsolete, the medical establishment is capitalist, and everyone just blindly follows whatever trend is "cool" at the time. I like Chinese culture and philosophies much better than western culture.
