I saw Hiatt and the Combo/Ageless Beauties in Newport RI this past June. The whole show had this kind of energy. I thought it was the best show I have ever seen Hiatt do.
This album and tune are wonderful efforts by Hiatt. He is one of the best singer-songwriters of the past 25 years. He has also experienced the words he writes and sings, and that makes all the difference.
This video is only 3 days after we saw him in concert. Yes, he is getting old, but he's got a lot left in him. He's been making music ever since he was in his 20s. He is a great musician!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I like him a lot.
Ha John Hiatt is not an attractive man... he looks and sounds more pissed than ever. I kinda wish he'd try another album where he really cranks it up like 'Slug Line' and 'Two Bit Monsters' but I know he hates that stuff, right? Oh well. From what I have heard of this album I actually like 'Same Old Man' better.
This lead guitarist uses delay real nicely... His sound is real cool on "Master of Disaster" also. Some compression and just enough gain... cool tone. I Like!
This Guy is Trustworthy singer.
