I like some cards, but this set is so imbalanced! Blue is terrible, SB counters and Cancel... pff... not even Mana Leak! and white is getting great cards... No WoG? no Damnation? are they trying to kill Control? I guess they just care about aggro... I hope to see more variety in the next set, not just stupid power creep... Don't kill Control and Combo pls!

Magic is now simpler, easier, less choices, with less skill needed and less motivation to play it now! Go Wizards! Don't fix whats not broken. Sure I'll get use to the changes, but some old player will be annoyed when they come out to play and finds out night school is in session for them to learn the game all over again.

Also, not mentioning the stacking of combat damage and mana burn was a little disingenuous - you know they are issues but chose to avoid them.

Finally, D of the P is meh at best. You can't remove cards, the decks are mediocre and the AI sucks - I swung into an AI opponent with at 6/6 flyer they had no creature to block with and it chose to regenerate Asetic Troll 4 times. Weak.

they just renamed preexisting components of the game. Actually, they only really "dumbed down" one concept, in that damage in combat no longer uses the stack anymore. Also, there aren't any new "duels" in this set, seeing how they aren't two basic land types.

It's "duals." But you're correct, a major concern is the fact that they didn't give the "duals" their respective land types. I'm so disappointed with Wizards.

Also, you ignored the fact that mana burn no longer exists. Why did they take it out? Because, again, new players cried and bitched when they didn't understand the rules, so Wizards decided to stop punishing them for being mentally retarded.

I guess it's different for some games. Mana burn never really hurt me that much. The only thing that bothers me is the inability to float mana between phases, meaning my wrath/caller of the claw/natural affinity combo is nowhere near as achievable. I'm not too bothered. Especially since I held onto my playset of lightning bolts.

M10 rule changes are still retarded. You glossed over the fact that there's no mana burn, and the stupid explanations they gave for taking out combat damage not using the stack. "Your man swings, disappears, and then the blow lands? I DON'T UNDERSTAND!" That's obviously not the flavor of it and anyone whose intellect isn't second to a fern can tell that. Magic IS self-destructing. Get out now before you waste any more of your money.

cryptic command, faeries, negate, remove soul-style counter, cancel...and don't get me started on the game outside of standard. Control isn't dead--it's just being forced to use now that it can't wreck every deck in magic. You can still bounce vexing shusher, evacuate the stag, and do many, many things with blue. Also, by "chumps" I assume you mean new players, which you were at one point.

Crafting an elegant, cool card in Magic these days is meaningless, because retarded people will cry about how they don't understand it, smart people will abuse it and win tournaments, and then Wizards will ban it or CHANGE THE RULES so it isn't powerful. No. Magic is becoming a child's game.

In the wizards article. they said it was just a 10 dollar preview to the full game, without all the intricate business that is deck building. was made to give magic players a quick and easy fix as well and make it just that much easier for new players to learn the rules of the game.

I found the controls in Duels of the Planeswalkers pretty good. My personal gripe is that it plays like Magic for Beginner/Intermediate players, but the deck/card choices are not as... primary as I would expect. The whole thing could have been a lot more illustrative in terms of color relationship and basic strategy. Given that the logic engine is not very good with three-color decks, they should have kept the deck colors to 5 monos and five allied-pairs. I'll rant in depth elsewhere.

Yea, you can use the older Lightning Bolts you bought even in a standard tournament. And its up to you about the return thing. My guess is that the new lightning bolts are going to be fairly cheap, I'd say about 50-75cents at most. But if you happen to pull a foil one, then your in the money ;)

PS- Lightning Bolt is being reprinted as a common, hence the reason why they should be pretty cheap to get. Hope that clears things up for ya.

this is what WotC post "As soon as damage is assigned in the combat damage step, it is dealt. There is no time to cast spells and activate abilities in between; the last time to do so prior to damage being dealt is during the declare blockers step." normally whit a stack a 2/2 batles whit Mog Fanatic, the dealt damage and after Mog dealt damage you sacrifice to make another 1 damage- well now the combat and theres no time for play its ability before they die - bad new rule -.-

The Lifelink nerf it's that Lifelink doesn't Stack Anymore, right now if your creature Gets 2 Lifelink instances you win life Twice, but with the new rules, you will win the same life with a creature with lifelink as with a creature with "double" Lifelink.

Great show. I disagree about the damage on the stack being taken out. I don't think damage on the stack should be taken out. It stops cards like Mogg Fanatic which I don't mind, but it also stops bounce combo tricks and makes the attacking step a lot simpler. After a long time playing Yu-Gi-Oh, I enjoy the complexity of actually having to consider if my opponent has a bounce or the like for his creature, not just if my creature has enough toughness to survive any of his creatures blocking.

I'm confused, you say that only Master of the Wild Hunt needs to tap? Yet the ability clearly states that all untapped wolves must be tapped.

Does the ability choose the creatures to be tapped when being put on the stack? I still don't see how you can use the ability, and hit at the same time.

Well, it allows you to sic the chameleon colossus at anything the turn it's played... the colossus will tap, but you don't need to worry about summoning sickness on it.

Oh, I also want to add, that they should have the ability on Duel of the Plainswalkers that you can substitute cards in your deck for the ones you unlock, rather then having a 65-70 card decks. Everything else about the game is just fine.

3 damage on turn one is a waste. Save it to fry a Cloud Goat Ranger or something. Or keep 2 in your hand and when your opponent is down to 6 life and has no mana available to counter, then go to the face with both.
