  • this is a fantastic performance by Kristen C, ....and I want to introduce a young female singer from Indonesia, ( named putri ayu , age 14), who is also sang this song....putri is selected and chosen as one of the singer in " were you born to sing asia's competition" by david foster )

please see youtube.com/watch?v=fsTrdztYWco ,hope, that you will like it.

  • She is utterly fantastic

  • Kristin is just an all-around entertainer. So fab.

  • she's so cute and funny

  • Now that's "Classical Crossover!"

  • i can FINALLY do the opera part!

only took me 1 minute ;) hehe

  • that is such bloody good singing, and hilariously funny too.brilliant glad i found this on youtube .

  • She is so amazing :3

  • She's so freaking adorable!! ^_^

  • how could i take someone serious who's saying this wasn't just fantastic. awesome! perfect it is!!

  • Nice switching between head voice, mixed voice and belting. .. Cheno's technique is phenomenal.

  • @Beaulechat

    Good comment.

A tour de force rendition like this is only possible with a grounding in Bel Canto, Broadway, Jazz, Blues, and god knows what else.

  • some 14 years old singer from indonesia sing this song too. Look at youtube.com/watch?v=fsTrdztYWco. Quite good but still no match to Kristin performance though

  • So effortlessly....! it's beautifull

  • The voice isn't suppose to be perfect, the song is comical.

  • Gamma Phi Beta alumnus! That's what's up. <3

  • i dint mean 2 be mean but i dont like this..... BUT my bff is gonna sing it in the talent show.....

  • Awesome !!!

  • she is totaly amazing : )

  • WOW just proves a pretty face and showing your assets can get you somewhere in hollywood

  • @81jwood really? you don't think she's talented?

  • @yellowjello42 no she really sucks I bet simon would agree with me

  • @81jwood Wow, that's all you focused on during the video? That's sad.

  • @81jwood WOW just proves you know nothing about music. Switching octaves like she does with such ease gets her places in Hollywood.

  • @BrownEyedPrincess1 maybe under the table in American Idol

  • @81jwood Let's see you try to sing this song as well as she does. Let's see you try to hit above a high C like she does in Wicked. If you can sing any of the songs she does as half as well as she does, then you can start criticizing musicians. But as far as I know, you are nothing, and Kristen Chenoweth has had vocal training for years, and she is utterly and totally fantastic. I understand if people don't care for her voice because it's "whiny" (which I don't think it is) but she has talent.

  • she spoke at my school today c; !@!@

  • @TurnT0Ice JEALOUS.

  • amazing how she plays with her voice. gawd

  • Cheno's fantastic. Ya gotta love her.

  • I want move to 14F or H! =D

  • She's fantastic.

  • I love her so so much

  • I don't think people`s comments about her size is ridiculous. Let's be honest, dont you expect larger things to be heavier, hence capable of bigger force? like how your mind tricks you to think tt 1 kg of iron is heavier than 1 kg of cotton? I rather think it's a compliment. It's the juxtaposition of her size and capability tt makes it all the more interesting

  • what's 14G?

  • @IlCOLElI an apartment room

  • @IlCOLElI An apartment number

  • what is the original song by ella that the song is quoting?

  • Love Kristin Chenoweth! This song is GREAT! She has such fun when she performs on stage and the audience loves her too. This song shows her comedic ability. Her facial expresions are priceless. As for her singing, she is musical perfection! There is not a song she couldn't sing. This performance from PBS & Boston Pops should be made into a video. HEY PEOPLE THIS WOULD SELL! Kristin is the greatest all around performer of her day. WOW! A SONG has no better friend than Kristin Chenoweth!

  • Putri Ayu The Girl in 14G watch?v=fsTrdztYWco

  • My friend just sang this for our last recital. Lol! Love it! It's a difficult song. Good job, Kristen!

  • *replay*

  • omg shes SOOOO AWESOME!!!!!!! <3

  • 59 people are opera wannabes.

  • MY God, I loved this! It's such a light and funny performance, and she sings so well. All I know is that if I ever have an opportunity of watching her live, I will.

  • @tiafain awesomesexy great definition

  • 1:18 - 1:35 i watched this clip and from her way she did that opera singing then an immediate serious look, i can't help but to LOL! Kristen = EPIC

  • She's one of the few people who can actually pull this off!

  • Love Kristin Chenoweth! This song is GREAT! She has such fun when she performs on stage and the audience loves her too. This song shows her comedic ability. Her facial expresions are priceless. • she's full of awesomesexy!

  • Nobody is dissing her size, it's common for people of larger size to have larger vocal chords (the chords being between the size of a penny and nickel)-therefore a larger voice. People her size usually have smaller vocal chords (the size of a dime) and therefore less resonant voices. It takes a combination of skill to find resonance within yourself and luck (to have larger vocal chords) for a smaller person to make sounds at the same level as a larger person.

  • HERE VOICE IS BEAUTIFUL!

  • I don't care about her size, I just know I love her and she's my idol!! <3

  • i love her sooo much :D

  • 太好聽了!

  • People, u do know she's a small person and not a little person right!? Your comments about her size are ridiculous! You're talking as if she was Snow White's eight dwarf! She's just short and skinny, petite, tiny, small; but since when are petite people deprived of talent? She's not a lot smaller than Shakira, Judy Garland (RIP), Kylie Minogue and a lot more...most celebrities are actually a lot shorter than u think. (&"Little people" can also be super talented. Size and talent are not related.)

  • Talent has nothing to with size.. it doesn't matter how big or little someone is.. and she has got a truck load of talent! I freaking love her! I agree with Falln4darkangel.. I could listen to her sing about salt and be happy!

  • Squeaky voice.

  • We all know bigger people can do it,,,, but its even more awesome when a small person is able to pull something like that off ... its hard for someone with a small frame or voice..thus making this more entertaining

  • and this my friends.. is the product of damn good training.. and an awesome person :)

  • I feel like I can just listen to her sing about anything, anything at all, like ketchup, and she would do it beautifully and animatedly

    <3 Kristin!

  • i love u!

  • This is awesome.

  • She's so cute! <3

  • I heard that Jeanine Tesori originally wrote it for THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE (in which Cheno was originally intended to star) but then it was cut when Cheno had a contractual obligation.

  • aaaahhh Kristin! <3

  • Why do people associate the size of her voice or talent with her physical size? Are smaller people suppose to be devoid of everything and bigger people full of talent and skill?

  • @FarleyTube feh, clearly its because bigger people have more room for talent and skill! :p

But I kid, and in Kristin's case, she's absolutely amazing, whether big or small!

  • @FarleyTube no, its just that she is so adorable! we love her being short as well as her voice

  • favourite bit... " that felt good"

    she is so cute!

  • woah

  • like this song

  • This isn't from a show is it? Like a musical? This is just something she did on her own?

  • Geeze she's my idol. Pure talent.

  • She's probably the only person who can even do this song

  • @itzjoeymac A member of the group called "The Buzz" did it fantastically today! <3 But hers is outstanding as well <3

  • Comment removed

  • @itzjoeymac She's wonderful, but not the only person who can do this. Watch Disneydiva7 (Laura Workman McMurtrey) singing this piece.

  • TÃOOOOOOO PERFEITA!

  • how could there possibly be 55 dislikes on this video???!!!

  • Only Kristin can sing out that feeling. I love u!!!

  • Love Kristin Chenoweth! This song is GREAT! She has such fun when she performs on stage and the audience loves her too. This song shows her comedic ability. Her facial expresions are priceless. • I love hers and Lucy Duracks versions of this song!

  • WOW! What a tallent! Great vocal range with the most adorable facial expressions. She is a treasure, truly a great entertainer. Kristin can sing anything. I would love to see her stage show put on DVD. What a great seller it would be. Hey PBS/Sony how about it? A song has no better friend than Kristin Chenoweth!

  • Oh, I wish I could do all these things with my voice.

  • i love her

  • Do you know what..... This is what is missing from the movies and movie stars of today, they do movies and get paid big money but there is no nostagia people....... as in you don't see the stars of today singing like this and dancing like Fred aster do you? great vid :)

  • @SGR1000 That is so true. I mean what ever happened to musical talent? Where are those days when people not only had the looks, but also had a great deal of musical talent? I mean the movies today are good but somehow they just need a musical number here and there just to explain how the character really feels. It just seems that through music true feelings can really be released with a voice added to it. Right?

  • @startobe22 That's right I miss the likes of Shirley temple and Doris day they simply knew how to do it all and the Likes of New york was just a classic and the siong is still played today at the end of most events, they simply can't or just can't be bothered putting the extra effort in these days,

  • @SGR1000 Exactly!!! The actors you have today are mostly based on looks and modern acting and not much musical talent. Also in my personal opinion there is a little too much scenes in movies with too much nudity. What happened to those days where music was not only in bands and orchestra's, but also in people. You know what mean?

  • @startobe22 Yes it is all avertising explicit sex scenes. And it has to be gory or obscene to even be picked. You would never get a film picked now like " South Pacific" or " The Wizzard of Oz" and yet these are still up there and selling big every day on the DVD market, the producers are aiming at the games market now and turning our teenagers into thugs that we see rioting in the streets

  • @SGR1000 Precisely what ever happened to those days where teenagers got along and the neighborhoods were so much kinder? I've even heard on the news that they're thinking of not teaching kids how to write cursive anymore. Also why can't there be nice people and teens on the streets? Today it seems like every where you go there's always a dark alley! Doesn't it seem like in today's world that romance is dying? Yes more and more teenagers are thugs. Why? Why would they think it's okay?

  • @startobe22 Because nothing shocks anymore so they allow anything, bring back the likes of Mary Whitehouse a woman who knew how to press buttons and get things sorted :)

  • @SGR1000 Call me crazy, but I am a person who is in the dying breed crowd and I'm pretty dog gone proud of it. I'm not rich, or famous but I am smart and pretty content with my life. I'm also good at what I do I sing, dance free style, and rehearse monologues often. It seems today if you want to see a musical the only place you can go to is the theater. I did learn from a cousin that when one is on stage they have to speak louder and slower than usual.

  • When I first started seeing her in movies, like RV, she was obnoxious, but now, she's funny. My mom and I like her.

  • Is that what you Call an Opera Wannabe XDDD

    Btw Ilove You :)))

  • Is this from some sort of special? Because I see a few other performances where she is wearing the same outfit and hair so this must have a been a special of some kind. Help??

She is amazing, by the way, she's 50ft of pure joy stuffed into a 4'11" body :)

  • @lionheartedgirl49 It was from a Boston Pops special,

  • I fell in love with her on the show "Pushing Up Daisys".

  • She is amazing!!! Such talent!!! She is an amazing singer and anyone who says different is jealous!

  • my friend maddie sang this for the talent show. (11 years old) soo amazingg. she also got the lead in a play with people auditioning up to 30 years old. so jealous of her talent

  • This sounds like my house.

  • Im learning this song in My voice lessons and she makes it look SOOO EASY like oh my gosh. its amazing how she does this. im 14 and my voice is similar to hers but yet very differnt. check out my channel if you wanna hear what im talking about!

  • 55 People live in 13G...

  • @equinegirl84321 I'm not one of the 55 but I don't mind staying in 13G if I were to have such an amazing voice like the girl in 13G.

  • What does she sing 3:56?

  • Holy Fuck

  • When was this? She looks so young!

  • she can sing in any genres :O

  • @AutumnSurreal She said in one of her interviews that her parents should not sing probably because, they weren't as professionally trained as she was. Did you know that she was adopted?

  • @startobe22 Yup I saw that on ellen ! yes she was adopted ! but she's so positive i like her!

  • @AutumnSurreal Yes that is a great thing about her. She is positive and she is so funny she's only 4' 11" and she really tends to make the best of it which is really inspiring. I like her too.

  • @startobe22 Yes She's pretty short i think thats why her voice is strong !

  • @AutumnSurreal Her voice is very strong. One time my mom told me that I should learn to sing like her and I said," I plain to". I know that sounds entirely too crazy, but it is like my future plan for my futuristic career.

  • @startobe22 Hey you should try ! i once participated in voice class but my voice isn't so good so i gave up ! I ! since im a musician its my dream to compose music for movies ! you should follow your dream :)

  • @AutumnSurreal Thank you so much for the encouragement and by the break a leg for your composing. I'm absolutely positive that you'll have a very successful career in writing your own music.

By the way, here is an extra firm hug. Break a leg!!! ;) ^^

  • @startobe22 omg just imagine a day im working on one of your movies and then we get an oscar for that ! amaaazing ! your in usa ?

  • @AutumnSurreal Of course I'm in USA. I love being an American, because we know the good stuff such as making s'mores. You know what I mean? Of course by the time I'm singing, dancing and acting for musical films, like I said, I will have given up foods that I love and my voice will be working professionally. I can imagine a day when your working on one of the movies I'll be in and two Oscars will be waiting for the both of us. AWESOME!!! ;) EXCITING!!!;)

  • @startobe22 good for you there are lots of opportunities for you in usa ! im from middle east and there is not much hope here :( so i have to go abroad to study music

  • @AutumnSurreal Well here's the upside for you. You have a future planed and a dream. (I'm quoting Whoopi Golberg on this) but, here's some advice,"Keep your finger on your dream." Here's some advice from, me keep your dream not only in your head, but also in your heart. Especially in your heart!

  • @startobe22 thanks for your advice your such an inspiration :)

  • Unbeliveble... I'm lovin' it... :):):)

  • sounds like christmas

  • Love her SO MUCH.

  • 1:54 Cute laugh ♥

  • I'd like Kristin to be my fairy godmother.

  • I first came across this song when a girl in my music class sang it for her HSC. Love it!

However (and i know this is really picky) it annoys me that she sings the Queen of the NIght Aria from Mozart's Die Zauberflote, then sings the line "my first night in 14G, I put up with Puccini" YOU JUST SANG MOZART! sigh. But that's not Kristin's fault, it's what is in the song.

  • Kristen, please marry me! ;-)
