@superford500 Hi! i just talked to my "computer fixer guy" he told me to hold the power button for 10 seconds to skip the sleep mode and the computer starts normaly - i tried this and it worked! fuck im happy now XD computers are our lifes :) hope this helps! peace!
i figured that. an option that most users would use goes bad. lol i disable mine as soon as that happened to me to where i relised it wasnt getting out of sleep mode. stupid but this also happened on older generation of windows too.
win 7 went into a coma but on a desktop pc. i took the cr 2032 penny battery out from the motherboard, started pc, it bleeped which it wouldnt do before. then turned off pc, replaced the battery and booted up. its been fine sice
@ChipzInMyCrotchxD First of all, I like your name. Secondly, I have never experienced this on a desktop machine, so I can't say for sure. Can you tell me more about when you first started noticing this problem?
Plsss help my gaming pc won't start I accedently shut it off during an update and now windows won't run I tried to restore and now it still won't start help
help me! I accidentally put my gaming PC in sleep mode...and it wont wake up! the only thing is the light of LED from the fans are on..but nothing display on my screen! help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You don't have to reseat the ram . Just unplug the ac and pop out the battery Put batt back in and plug in. Start it up. You are good to go. What is the real fix to wake up the pos 7. Am I the only one that hates 7 with a passion?
Exactly this happened to my laptop last week after I accidently clicked Sleep mode, I tried the method suggested in this video but unfortunately it did not help. Please tell me if you know of any other solutions how to bring my laptop out of sleep?
@paramonov1984 You can also try removing the battery, unplugging the machine, giving it a couple minutes, plugging in the power adapter and leaving the battery out of the machine, and powering it on.
@OniRamen Hi and thank you for your reply. I tried that several times, it did not help. I also tried disconnecting the CMOS and the "power drain" method. None of that worked, and tech support suggested I try removing the video card, but I am reluctant to do that. I have reasons to believe that the video card is an unlikely cause. I even tried putting RAM from another computer.
@OniRamen Ok my problem actually turned out to be that my video card had a malfunction when I put my laptop in sleep mode, they fixed it in 2 hours at a laptop repair center. They actually told me to avoid ever putting laptops in sleep or hibernate mode as it can be harmful to video cards. My warranty does not prohibit me from opening my laptop and looking inside, but some manufacturers do. Thanks for your advice anyway OniRamen.
@paramonov1984 This one was a weird one for me. Sometimes my shuttle would start and once it was running it was fine and i could restart it no problems But once I let it go into sleep mode it basically fell into a coma. And COMA is exactly how i would describe this problem. I just took the video card out and wtf it started. BIG THANKS!!!! for posting this video. Even have an excuse to upgrade my card now THANKS again.
try finding all keyboard shortcuts that u can google if you have to.if you can find a way into control panel then power options to disable sleep mode.some computers reset if u press ctrl alt enter something like that or safe mode is what ur lookig for as for shortcuts.i hope this makes sense or even better solves the problem.maybe
@dreamless1234 Taking your RAM out and putting it back in will not void your warranty unless your doing so is the direct cause of a malfunction. Dell provides a step-by-step guide for taking out your RAM on their site as well.
mine wont budge. Ive got an hp g50 from 2 black fridays ago, and it just wont wake up. Ive moved my hard drive to a different computer and tried booting it there and it worked, but the computer itself does just like the dell in the video does. Reseating the ram did not work, I have tried several times. I am also using windows 7. Any ideas?

@megazone2148 : hi mega, it was a bit more complicated in this instance, although for general sleep mode incidents, that can work many times : ) Thanks for watching.
@OniRamen My computer is messed up also, and i really need help. When i started it up it just keeps loading and never stops on if i shut it off by pressing the power button.why is this?
Try a "repair" install. Ask a tech savy person how to do it, they will know what you are talking about. If done correctly, you will get to keep all your files, and only the windows operating system files will be replaced/fixed.
If it says fatal error occured, i had the same problem, it ended up being my dimm card was bad, try taking one out at a time and see if it will start normally, if it starts the dimm that you took out right before is bad, replace it
I'm assuming you already double checked all the power settings? Also, are you trying to get it to go to sleep via time passing, or by pressing a button?
hey ummm my computer doesnt turn on at all. the power light jus flashes as if its tring to turn on, then it cuts off. i triedthe ram thinggg... any other help
hey ummm my computer doesnt turn on at all. the poer light jus flashes as if its tring to turn on, then it cts off. i triedthe ram thinggg... any other help
When i press the "sleep" button, it goes to sleep , but after a couple seconds or so, it turns back on. I hope you can help me. I looked on google, but all was about the computer not being able to wake up .
It might not be "sleep" mode that it is going into. I would check out all of the power save settings under control panel to make sure all that stuff is right first.
The Ram is a memory dump hardware utility as well as controlling the speed on how quick it thinks.
In this case something went wrong and by taking the ram out the dump memory was erased so there for the computer reset it's thought's and went back to the default thought's it had before the error then started up right :).

I would double check what actually voids your warranty. I don't think off the top of my head that taking the memory out and putting it back in would void your warranty. Not sure on this though, I would check the Dell website to be sure.
I have a desk top Dell had me pull out 2gig sticks when I had a blue screen i could not burn dvds so I have black screen I pulled them out and put them back in.still black
I'm not sure why you would remove the RAM when you cannot burn DVDs...I would try and reinstall teh DVD drive drivers, and also check all the connections inside your machine to the DVD drive, to start...
I finally got the computer to work but I will try and reinstall tech DVD drive drivers, and also check all the connections inside my machine to the DVD drive.
Np, also if that does not work, go into control panel, system, hardware, device manager, find your dvd drive in the list, double click on it, see if it says "this device is working properly"
my computer is doing this, and i took the ram out and it still doesnt come on. and it was running just fine when i mistakly clicked onto sleepmode and now shut down
PLZ PLZ HELP I shut it down by holding the power button like an hour later I turned it back on and said there was no signal from something and then just went to sleep and dont wake up plz hlp
My laptop is a dell just newer than yours, it runs on vista. It powers up & I can log on. The prolbem is my screen is blank there is no menu & no programs. The right click dosnt work on the back ground. All of the programs seem to work but ist hard to acess them got the internet through drivers disk & help button. I closed the lid during an update so now i think its stuck in some kind of sleep mode. Any advice besides what you said in your video???
ah, it seems to be freezing after login. There are lots of things which can cause this. The first thing I would try is to simply restart your computer, repeatedly press the F8 key while it boots up, then choose Last known good configuration from the options which will appear.
If the same thing occours I would restart, press F8 again, this time choose safe mode, and remove and newly installed programs / downloaded files. If this does not work, I would boot into safe mode and do a windows restore (will not cause you to lose any files generally), once you are logged in in safe mode, go to the start menu, click the run button, or in vista just click into the search box, and type the word restore, and hit enter...
hmmm now that i think about it I have never tried a windows restore in vista...you might have to Google "how to windows restore vista". If anyone else reading this knows, please reply with directions. Hope this helps.
it may not be "sleep" mode that your computer is going into, Check all the timers in the power options and make sure that another mode isn't occurring before sleep mode, like hibernation.
on my laptop it was gonna sleep coz of the critical batt error and it just froze and couldnt do nothin so i just took batt out and threw it on the couch (it was hot lol) let it cool down put it back in and it woke up
your computer might've been overheating. either that or it may be in an excessive lock which only occurs when your computer thinks it's going to short circuit, my suggestion would be to put it on a surface like a counter and leave it there for an hour or 2 then check on it after.
Ok. When you power it on, what happens, does it actually load windows fully? Or, does it just turn on, then go black over and over? Basically, can you currently get into windows at all?
My model only has one power button. This fix is only temporary, I'm still trying to figure out what is actually causing the machine to defect once it goes into sleep mode. If it's the board, I'm just going to never put it into sleep mode, it's not a big deal for me.

Hope this helps.

i have an issue wen i put my vista to sleep and wake it back up the cpu restarts. what do i do please help thanx

it may not be "sleep" mode that your computer is going into, Check all the timers in the power options and make sure that another mode isn't occurring before sleep mode, like hibernation.

Why not just right click on the desktop, then properties, then screensaver, then power options?

Because it'd be ever harder to see that in this video. Trying to see the icons was tough enough. But yeah, that's how I usually do it.

Tried that, had no effect. Thanks for the suggestion though!

your computer might've been overheating. either that or it may be in an excessive lock which only occurs when your computer thinks it's going to short circuit, my suggestion would be to put it on a surface like a counter and leave it there for an hour or 2 then check on it after.

hey, i have hp destop and it won't boot up, it keep going into sleep mode, what to help fix, the screen keep going black. thanks
Videojunkie247 4 years ago

Thanks for the comment!
