  • @superford500 Hi! i just talked to my "computer fixer guy" he told me to hold the power button for 10 seconds to skip the sleep mode and the computer starts normaly - i tried this and it worked! fuck im happy now XD computers are our lifes :) hope this helps! peace!

  • i have the same problem but not on the laptop on a big gaming computer :P i just dont want the harddrive to be broken... i hope its the ram :S

  • i figured that. an option that most users would use goes bad. lol i disable mine as soon as that happened to me to where i relised it wasnt getting out of sleep mode. stupid but this also happened on older generation of windows too.

  • Thank You!!!! Now my computer don't sleep anymore. I used the control panel.....and set never on sleeping mode.

  • you have to HOLD the power button for a long time and it will restart thumbs up :D

  • @theconify I believe I had tried that too, to no avail. I have seen that trick work on Lenovo thinkpad model laptops though =]

  • win 7 went into a coma but on a desktop pc. i took the cr 2032 penny battery out from the motherboard, started pc, it bleeped which it wouldnt do before. then turned off pc, replaced the battery and booted up. its been fine sice

  • @biscuittin65656 cool man, glad to hear it, maybe your comment will help out some people with similar problems. : )

  • Thanx so much! I hav the same comp and now it works like a charm

  • @elibiletch Awesome.

  • You don't have to reseat the ram, just remove battery, and unplug.

  • @atvking That was actually the first thing I tried, did not work in my case.

  • Then how did u put this video on YouTube??!

  • @Hobbs2113 I filmed it with my camera and uploaded it. Why?

  • I am having this problem with my desktop pc will this work on that also?

  • @ChipzInMyCrotchxD First of all, I like your name. Secondly, I have never experienced this on a desktop machine, so I can't say for sure. Can you tell me more about when you first started noticing this problem?

  • Plsss help my gaming pc won't start I accedently shut it off during an update and now windows won't run I tried to restore and now it still won't start help

  • @tormentor810 have you tried a windows "repair install"?

  • @OniRamen ya thanks i got it fixed ur video was a lot of help

  • help me! I accidentally put my gaming PC in sleep mode...and it wont wake up! the only thing is the light of LED from the fans are on..but nothing display on my screen! help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @raxaxaganaz i have the same problem

  • how about PC?

  • You don't have to reseat the ram . Just unplug the ac and pop out the battery Put batt back in and plug in. Start it up. You are good to go. What is the real fix to wake up the pos 7. Am I the only one that hates 7 with a passion?

  • I Have a problem with my desktop i put it into sleep mode now it wont wake up, i cant even get to the boot screen, its as if it died

  • i have the same problem but instead of sleep mode my desktop's monitor says "WARNING: pc entering power save mode" idk what to do

  • You are Awesome my friend!!!!!!

Thank you so much for the video.

    It totally solved the problem

  • shake it or throw water on it!

  • Thank you somuch this really helped get my computer to work and to think I was going to go out and buy a new 1 smuhh , thanks again :D

  • Exactly this happened to my laptop last week after I accidently clicked Sleep mode, I tried the method suggested in this video but unfortunately it did not help. Please tell me if you know of any other solutions how to bring my laptop out of sleep?

  • @paramonov1984 You can also try removing the battery, unplugging the machine, giving it a couple minutes, plugging in the power adapter and leaving the battery out of the machine, and powering it on.

  • @OniRamen Hi and thank you for your reply. I tried that several times, it did not help. I also tried disconnecting the CMOS and the "power drain" method. None of that worked, and tech support suggested I try removing the video card, but I am reluctant to do that. I have reasons to believe that the video card is an unlikely cause. I even tried putting RAM from another computer.

  • @OniRamen Ok my problem actually turned out to be that my video card had a malfunction when I put my laptop in sleep mode, they fixed it in 2 hours at a laptop repair center. They actually told me to avoid ever putting laptops in sleep or hibernate mode as it can be harmful to video cards. My warranty does not prohibit me from opening my laptop and looking inside, but some manufacturers do. Thanks for your advice anyway OniRamen.

  • @paramonov1984 This one was a weird one for me. Sometimes my shuttle would start and once it was running it was fine and i could restart it no problems But once I let it go into sleep mode it basically fell into a coma. And COMA is exactly how i would describe this problem. I just took the video card out and wtf it started. BIG THANKS!!!! for posting this video. Even have an excuse to upgrade my card now THANKS again.

  • @YouubeT Glad to hear it.

  • NOT WORKS ...ANY OTHER WAYS????????????????

  • i have fix it whit updateing my USB driver

  • try finding all keyboard shortcuts that u can google if you have to.if you can find a way into control panel then power options to disable sleep mode.some computers reset if u press ctrl alt enter something like that or safe mode is what ur lookig for as for shortcuts.i hope this makes sense or even better solves the problem.maybe

  • leave him alone for a week i tryed this is worked the next week amazing!!!!!

  • if you are watching this never open it yourself you will lose all warrenty

  • @dreamless1234 Taking your RAM out and putting it back in will not void your warranty unless your doing so is the direct cause of a malfunction. Dell provides a step-by-step guide for taking out your RAM on their site as well.

  • @OniRamen Where i live opening your computer breaks warenty says so on the warenty note

  • Mine does this, BUT ONLY IN SAFE MODE

How do I fix it? I have a virus and can't fix it nless I can get into safe mode.

  • mine wont budge. Ive got an hp g50 from 2 black fridays ago, and it just wont wake up. Ive moved my hard drive to a different computer and tried booting it there and it worked, but the computer itself does just like the dell in the video does. Reseating the ram did not work, I have tried several times. I am also using windows 7. Any ideas?

  • @MikeHummyButthole Do you see the bios screen at all, or just totally black when you turn it on?

  • @OniRamen totally black.

  • Wow... looks like you put it into Coma Mode.

  • @mbe102 He's probably having a bad dream in a deep sleep.

  • ok, i have a gaming pc.. Is it safe to put it into sleep mode? and will sleep mode have long term ill affects for my components? Please, any fellow gamer who knows of this, feel free to tell me if its safe. Thanx :)

  • hey bro i had vista and sleep mode worked perfect...now i upgraded to 7, 64bit when i go to sleep mode and resume the pc.....it starts up but nothing goes on display...so the only way to reboot is to shut it off through the power button which somtimes i have to press like 10 times...help?

  • @hallal55 have you tried my RAM trick? Until you fix it you might want to take off sleep mode.

  • @OniRamen idk what that is...however i cahnged hdd and ram....theres the thing..it worked for a couple days BEFORE I installed itunes or some other updates...then wont work...restored to previous before updates and itunes and blabla , worked, then instaelld somthin else...stop workng....ugh so fruastraiting. :(

  • @hallal55 When it stops working now, it just doesn't wake up from sleep mode...or something else? I don't think iTunes could really be affecting your PC's sleep mode, hmm, have you tried updating your bios at all? If you go to your computer manufacturer's website (like dell.com, toshiba.com, etc) you can download a new version of your bios. Be careful to have nothing else running/do nothing with your PC during a bios upgrade though. Let me know if it helps at all...

  • @OniRamen yeah i put in sleep mode.....i press akey on keyboard...pc fans up but nothing shows up on screen so i have to manually shut off and somtimes i havet o shut off on like 20 times for it to load....

so how do i no what bios version i have?

  • @hallal55 for bios, go to computer's website, click support/drivers, go to the drivers page for your model, download latest bios, it should be the only one there.

  • @OniRamen hmmm when i go to the gateway and put it all specs it shows no bio update...... ugh man this is so fruastrating and wierd lol

  • throw water at it that wakes me up

  • your laptop is in a comma :/

  • i no how to fic it punch your computer and then go to WC washit :)

  • Ok i have an acer and i restarted it and then it took to long so i thought something had went wrongso i turned it off. Wen i tried turning it back on a black screen would pop up and say start windows in safe mode or start windows normally and either one iclick the same thing happens: it would say starting windows and then it would have a blank screen. Can u help.?

  • @13slipknotmaggot Does your computer keep restarting once the screen goes black?

  • whta laptop is it?

  • samething happened with my m17x

  • Excellent fix, you saved my wifes bacon.

  • ur welcome = )

  • just hold the shutdown button and it will be awake if that does not work

  • @megazone2148 : hi mega, it was a bit more complicated in this instance, although for general sleep mode incidents, that can work many times : ) Thanks for watching.

  • @OniRamen My computer is messed up also, and i really need help. When i started it up it just keeps loading and never stops on if i shut it off by pressing the power button.why is this?

  • same thing happened to me!

  • lol my dell does the same thing.

  • does anyone know how to fix it when u start it and that loading thingy just keep loading ?

  • Try a "repair" install. Ask a tech savy person how to do it, they will know what you are talking about. If done correctly, you will get to keep all your files, and only the windows operating system files will be replaced/fixed.

  • anyone now how to fix when it blue screens as soon as it starts ever time and on safemode it just restarts

  • I sent you a private message with details on how you might fix this.

  • If it says fatal error occured, i had the same problem, it ended up being my dimm card was bad, try taking one out at a time and see if it will start normally, if it starts the dimm that you took out right before is bad, replace it

  • i got a vista desktop.i'd love to know why it WONT go to sleep please help me?

  • I'm assuming you already double checked all the power settings? Also, are you trying to get it to go to sleep via time passing, or by pressing a button?

  • did you only take out the mem and put the same back in again?

..ill give that a try 2night

  • Took ti out, put it back in, and disabled sleep mode.

  • hey ummm my computer doesnt turn on at all. the power light jus flashes as if its tring to turn on, then it cuts off. i triedthe ram thinggg... any other help

  • hey ummm my computer doesnt turn on at all. the poer light jus flashes as if its tring to turn on, then it cts off. i triedthe ram thinggg... any other help

  • does it make any tones when it turns on? (beeps?) What color are the lights, laptop or desktop?

  • When i press the "sleep" button, it goes to sleep , but after a couple seconds or so, it turns back on. I hope you can help me. I looked on google, but all was about the computer not being able to wake up .

  • It might not be "sleep" mode that it is going into. I would check out all of the power save settings under control panel to make sure all that stuff is right first.

  • ...this is a little vague, can you type out the error message?

  • hey u SAVE MY LIFE ... i thought my computer spoil ... thanks man ~! 5 STAR ~!

  • Awesome, glad I could be of service!

  • The Ram is a memory dump hardware utility as well as controlling the speed on how quick it thinks.

In this case something went wrong and by taking the ram out the dump memory was erased so there for the computer reset it's thought's and went back to the default thought's it had before the error then started up right :).

If your looking for hardware and software application knowledge come subscibe to my channal.

  • Hey,

I have a dell studio 17, mine has done the exact same thing, but my mum says im not alowed to do it as I have warranty on it or something ?

  • I would double check what actually voids your warranty. I don't think off the top of my head that taking the memory out and putting it back in would void your warranty. Not sure on this though, I would check the Dell website to be sure.

  • how u fix it

  • this is great! simple and easy to understand. thanks!

  • I have a desk top Dell had me pull out 2gig sticks when I had a blue screen i could not burn dvds so I have black screen I pulled them out and put them back in.still black

  • I'm not sure why you would remove the RAM when you cannot burn DVDs...I would try and reinstall teh DVD drive drivers, and also check all the connections inside your machine to the DVD drive, to start...

  • I finally got the computer to work but I will try and reinstall tech DVD drive drivers, and also check all the connections inside my machine to the DVD drive.

    Thank you so much.

  • Sorry I used my kids computer she is pepperment1227

  • Np, also if that does not work, go into control panel, system, hardware, device manager, find your dvd drive in the list, double click on it, see if it says "this device is working properly"

  • the computer works I put the Ram in.

    Thank you

  • doesnt work, try to turn it on but the caps lock blinks with a black screen.did everything u did.i have a dell inspiron 1521 vista T.T

  • I googled dell inspiron blinking caps lock and found some interesting articles, check it out.

  • my computer is doing this, and i took the ram out and it still doesnt come on. and it was running just fine when i mistakly clicked onto sleepmode and now shut down

  • unplug the power cable, take out the battery, wait 10 seconds, put the battery back in, plug power back in, press power. Let me know if this works.

  • PLZ PLZ HELP I shut it down by holding the power button like an hour later I turned it back on and said there was no signal from something and then just went to sleep and dont wake up plz hlp

  • Did you mean Ubuntu, or is there a build called Ubunta now? Ubuntu is one of the easiest builds /top of unix kernel to use, I like it too =)

  • i need help with my computer i put it to sleep mode and it wont wake up

  • details? =)

  • My laptop is a dell just newer than yours, it runs on vista. It powers up & I can log on. The prolbem is my screen is blank there is no menu & no programs. The right click dosnt work on the back ground. All of the programs seem to work but ist hard to acess them got the internet through drivers disk & help button. I closed the lid during an update so now i think its stuck in some kind of sleep mode. Any advice besides what you said in your video???

  • ah, it seems to be freezing after login. There are lots of things which can cause this. The first thing I would try is to simply restart your computer, repeatedly press the F8 key while it boots up, then choose Last known good configuration from the options which will appear.

  • If the same thing occours I would restart, press F8 again, this time choose safe mode, and remove and newly installed programs / downloaded files. If this does not work, I would boot into safe mode and do a windows restore (will not cause you to lose any files generally), once you are logged in in safe mode, go to the start menu, click the run button, or in vista just click into the search box, and type the word restore, and hit enter...

  • hmmm now that i think about it I have never tried a windows restore in vista...you might have to Google "how to windows restore vista". If anyone else reading this knows, please reply with directions. Hope this helps.

  • my laptop wont even go to sleep anymore, i have vista and i dont no why plz help

  • did you double check all the power options/schemes?

  • i have an issue wen i put my vista to sleep and wake it back up the cpu restarts. what do i do please help thanx

  • it may not be "sleep" mode that your computer is going into, Check all the timers in the power options and make sure that another mode isn't occurring before sleep mode, like hibernation.

  • Why not just right click on the desktop, then properties, then screensaver, then power options?

  • Because it'd be ever harder to see that in this video. Trying to see the icons was tough enough. But yeah, that's how I usually do it.

  • my computer does the same thing but some times mine turn of right when you turn it on

  • on my laptop it was gonna sleep coz of the critical batt error and it just froze and couldnt do nothin so i just took batt out and threw it on the couch (it was hot lol) let it cool down put it back in and it woke up

so if that happens to you again oniramen try that

not the throwing bit lol XD

  • Tried that, had no effect. Thanks for the suggestion though!

  • your computer might've been overheating. either that or it may be in an excessive lock which only occurs when your computer thinks it's going to short circuit, my suggestion would be to put it on a surface like a counter and leave it there for an hour or 2 then check on it after.

  • hey, i have hp destop and it won't boot up, it keep going into sleep mode, what to help fix, the screen keep going black. thanks

  • Ok. When you power it on, what happens, does it actually load windows fully? Or, does it just turn on, then go black over and over? Basically, can you currently get into windows at all?

  • My model only has one power button. This fix is only temporary, I'm still trying to figure out what is actually causing the machine to defect once it goes into sleep mode. If it's the board, I'm just going to never put it into sleep mode, it's not a big deal for me.

    Thanks for the comment!

  • DO you have a restart botton if you do boot it then hit the restart botton (not litrly)

it mite be a small hole in the laptop

    (soz 4 bad spelling)
