The Brady Act was passed by President Clinton, and we didn't, and still don't agree with it. There were some good things in the bill, but we still don't agree with much of it. If citizens aren't able to defend themselves, as they're entitled to by Our highest law, they'd be totally reliant on the police, which isn't a safe alternative. If everybody was armed, no thief would want to snatch a purse out of fear of being shot.

No Wories, and yes, we agree with you. Drug dealers get guns and drugs from foreign countries, so no laws here will prevent them from obtaining automatic weapons, and, the dreaded "cop-killer" ammo. Taking guns away from honest law-abiding US Citizens is clearly not an answer. In South Carolina, Spratanburg actually, they passed a manditory gun law, which reduced crime enormously. If you compare within western Europe, Switzerland has one of if not the lowest crime rate, they also have conscription and everyone is required to keep their full auto military rifle, pistol, and ammo for both in their households. I think they are actually lower than Japan in murder rates. England on the other hand has the strictest and is up there in western Europe's highest crime rates.
