  • Gives me chills, Mercy!

  • Great acting, John! And Philip too.

  • Thank you soooo much for posting clips from this. I recently discovered the soundtrack and I fell in love. I wish I had the chance to see it live (even though I was a child when it was done!) would it be possible to post even more clips?

  • I was in this show in the summer of 2008 near Chicago. I played Calvin. The rewritten script and score are much different than the original production shown here. It was still really a great experience though.

  • AHHH. Ive loved and listened to this song for YEARS.THANK YOU for posting this. I agree with the last post, GREATto finally have some video.

  • Ugh. This song is one of my favourites in the show. :) Nice to FINALLY have some video. Have, by chance, 'Mistress of Deception' or 'Lonely is a Two-Way Street'?

  • Poor Philip!! I'm sure John looked forward to this part every night but Philip?!!!

Still love this song and the whole show!

  • If someone had said, back in 97, that that man was going to become one of britains leading personalities, I would have laughed... but now, I ( not mention a few others) would love to see John live in this role. (Hell, Philip too!) This needs to be a movie, with the original cast...

  • Do you have Simple Words? Or Alleluia? Please tell me you have those!

  • wow... Does anyone know if there's a soundtrack that I can get... I can;t find it anywhere in the states... a DVD would be awesome...

  • There is a soundtrack, I found it on Amazon and I didn't even need to have it sent from the UK. There are sellers here. Haven't heard of a DVD, but that would be awesome.

  • I've been looking for video of this show for *years*--thank you so much!

  • I have been reading with interest the comments on this musical. I have just finished playing the part of Graham, played by Philip Quast originally. I have had the pleasure of being in many musicals, and The Fix ranks with the very best of them. To have a musical that can have dramatic intensity, without being sugary sweet, or have some intellectual element is rare these days. Fantastic show, and we played to very appreciative audiences.

  • Thanks so much for posting these. I only recently discovered "The Fix", and it's now one of my favorite musicals. I'll probably never get to see it, so it's nice to be able to see bits of it.

  • Ooooh. How great to see that a video of this exists! (It always irked me that 'One, Two, Three' got itself a slot on Hey, Mr Producer!, but 'First Came Mercy' didn't. Love Quast, he doesn't give himself nearly enough TV exposure.)

To be fair, the British political climate was rather terse at the time... I don't think critics (or audiences, for that matter) were very partial to a musical that was encouraging them to be cynical about politics.

Thanks ever so much for uploading!

  • I'm a huge JB fan, but if I could travel back in time then this is the only show that I would sell my soul to see again. Thank you so much for the clips... I may owe you part of my soul!!!

  • oh wow a clip from the fix!!! i love it ive only heard the soundtrack but its absolutely awesome and i really wish i couldve seen it!!

thanks for uploading this is like my favourite song!

  • Well if you knew the story...you wouldn't think so.

  • Just found out that the fix is to have its first regional performance in may, at the sharnbrook mill theatre, a small theatre in the village of sharnbrook in bedfordshire.

    Shame it's not more accessible!

  • Ahhh! I want to go!!

  • If anyone is interested in seeing the reginal premiere of the Fix (Which I am in!) then tickets are available from Bedford Box office. It promises to be an amazing show!!

  • Yes but just listen to the score and the vocals! It's so powerful! It has the power to move you to tears, and it's just so tragic! Who needs all the special effects with a score like that?

  • If only I knew!! It's also good to know I'm not the only one who finds The Fix tragic. Most of the reviews I have read did not.. In fact most of the reviews I have read make me want to kick the people who wrote them.

  • I know! how long did it run in the end? wasn't it something ridiculously short because it didn't get enough publicity and few influential journalists gave it bad reviews.

  • I'm not exactly sure how long it ran, but it was far too short of a time for a musical of this amazingness. I'll never understand critics. They call some of the worst shows I've seen brilliant and most of the truly brilliant ones get terrible reviews. Go figure!

  • @intriguedpunk I think it was only intended for a limited run anyway, but yeah only a few months.

  • OMG thank you so much for posting this! This musical is incredible, one of the BEST! I can't believe something as incredible and magnificent as this is so under appreciated!!! You are a gem for posting such a piece of musical genious! A million thank you's to you!

  • :D I'm a gem? YAY! Thank you! Though I shouldn't get credit, I'm just trying to spread the love because I agree. The Fix is one of the best musicals out there, and it's so overlooked it makes me ill! I plan on posting on more clips. Any song requests?

  • What ever you have available of this! It's just simply great!

  • I have the whole show so I shall get on posting more! Sadly it really isn't the best quality, but I am more than happy to have a slightly bad quality DVD of The Fix than no Fix at all.

  • My sentiments exactly! It's such a fantastic musical! Pitty it's not performed very often! In fact it's so rare!!!!! Such an injustice! I keep my eyes open for it to crop up someday, but so far it never has!

  • everything you have lol!

but I would love to see childs play and control if you have them

  • Of course! I'm converting Embrace Tomorrow right now and then I will get on to Child's Play and Control. A funny story about Control. The other day I was in Walmart and I heard someone say "It's all about control." and I seriously had to restrain myself from bursting into song and dance! I had to leave Walmart because I was having such a hard time resisting. First thing I did of course was come home and put The Fix in. XD Just a stupid story for you as I wait for the conversion to finish.

  • Do you have First Came Mercy .

    I just love Philip Quast

  • Oh same here!! I would LOVE to see him sing that song!!

  • Okay can someone explain to me what's going on in this scene? What's the premise of this musical anyway?

  • How to explain The Fix... Drugs, Sex, and Rock and Roll? Actually, Drugs, Sex and Politics is more like it...

In this scene, Cal(John Barrowman)is trying to get his drugs back from his uncle, Grahame. (Philip Quast)

  • The Fix!!! YAY!! Ok. I'm better now. It's great to see someone posting scenes from this very under appreciated musical. I was actually considering posting clips from my DVD of the show, hoping it would introduce new fans to it. Now I don't have to. Anywho. And really, how can you go wrong with John Barrowman and especially Philip Quast? (And straddling. *clears throat*) I think I enjoy this scene way more than I should...

  • Ohh, a fellow Fixie!! Want to be my new bestest friend? It's such a great show! And yes, I think it's wrong to enjoy this scene.. But I squealed the first time I saw it. And many times after. It feels wrong, but I can't really help it. :P

  • A Fixie. That's amazing because my signature on my phone is "*Mizzie Phan Fixie*"! :D

The Upper Hand is one of my favourite songs from The Fix. I also love First Came Mercy, Two Guys at Harvard, Embrace Tomorrow, and Spin. Philip and John are incredible, and Kathryn Evans is as well!

  • Mizzie Phan Fixie? So you love Les Mis, Phantom and The Fix? Marry me now. XD

I love Kathryn! She's such a perfect Violet. Spin actually touches me for whatever odd reason. I almost pity her during that song. And when she is talking to Cal about the birthday plans and she asks him: "Oh, and Cal. This somewhere you have to be- You're not going alone, are you?" That part gets to me too. Ok, question for you. Is it wrong to feel sympathy for Grahame?

  • If it's wrong to sympathize with Grahame I'm beyond guilty.. It doesn't help that it's Quast who's playing him, and I tend to sympathize with all of his angsty roles.

When he sobs when he's asking Cal to stop with the anti-drug campaign, it makes me very, very sad.

  • please post bits of your dvd, or all of it :P.

I wish this show had done better, the soundtrack is so amazing but I doubt i'll ever be able to see the show performed.

  • It's the same one that sweetdreams143 has, and I believe she's posting more clips. If she doesn't though, I for sure will.Perhaps combined we'll post the whole show. She can do half and I do the other. :D

The Fix soundtrack is amazing, yep. I fell in love with it and was beyond thrilled when I acquired the DVD! It's a shame that I will probably never see The Fix performed either. And if I do, it would probably be the American version, which fixed some plot parts, but it weakened certain aspects.

  • More Fix fans!! Welcome! I was beginning to think I was the only one! Anywho, as aplshottie said, I plan on posting more clips of this show. Any requests? :D
