Anybody think there's something kinda kinky about the line "You're the CUTEST jailbird I ever did see"?? One of the choreographers on this was Russ Tamblyn (Riff in "West Side Story"), who taught Elvis how to REALLY throw his hips out there...An amazing piece of film by anyone, not just Elvis...He'd never get this wild ever again!! He was really having a blast, too...The look on his face when he goes sliding off that board is just pure joy...
How much fun would it be to be dancing with Elvis! Those who were fortunate enough to star in movies with him were totally lucky! Wow...pole dancing...XD
Back in 1957 when this song first came out on the radio, there was a disc jockey from a popular radio station in San Diego who had some kind of a beef against the management, so he locked himself into the broadcasting room and played Jailhouse Rock over and over, constantly all day long for at least 6 hours till somebody broke the door down and stopped the music.
I was 13 years old then. but that day was one of the best days of my childhood. NOBODY wanted Jailhouse Rock to stop!
