  • I did everything you did in the video, step by step. All the files were copied onto the memory stick.

So I put in my Pandora battery, the green light turns on, but the screen itself is blank.

I've already installed CFW on my older psp, but it wont work the my psp 2001 model.

Any help would be great, Thanks!

  • Hi, this tutorial was made for the PSP 2000 so I have no idea what is wrong with yours. The only thing I can think of is that you might be using a pandora battery for a fat psp on you slim psp. Other than that, i'm out of ideas.

  • hey i did all the things u did it worked fine and when i restarted my psp a blue screen came up with diff lang. and i clciked O and now my psp is version 1.50 is that ok?

  • i JUst HAve A Black Screen No MEnu

  • Are you using Vista to install the files onto your memory card? If so try using XP.

  • yh i was but i used xp thanks for the advice ?

  • no problem

  • are you definely %100 sure that it can downgrade version 5.01?

  • as far i've read on forums and other websites yes it should be able to downgrade OFW v5.01

  • i insert the datex tool battery but the writing doesnt show up for the custom firmware.

does the datex tool battery have to be fully charged because it think mines around 80%. plz rply

  • Hi, you need to have it on the mains while you change the battery from the original PSP battery to the the datel tool battery

  • Hey safe man this worked perfectly out of da million ive tryed. thanksss

  • but i dont have a Datel TOOL Battery, i have a Datel Battery Service Tool, which converts my battery to a TOOL mode battery and back to a normal one.

  • i did download the files correctly, and i did get the "Congratulations! Magic memory stick creation finished!" message from the download, and im using a Datel Battery Service Tool. and the menu still wont come up.

    btw- i have 4.05 OFW

  • Make aure you have the battery charged correctly (the way I've stated below.) You have to turn the PSP on and plug it into the mains. Then take out the Sony PSP battery. The PSP should now only be running on the mains. Now put in your Tool battery. The orange light should appear on your PSP to let you know it's charging. keep your PSP on while the Tool battery is charging.

  • If you are doing it right and it still doesn't work it's the fault of either the memory card or the battery. but make sure first you are charging your battery correctly. Check the manufacturer of the memory card you are using to put the magic files onto. It should be an official sony or sandisk memory stick pro duo. If None of these solutions help format your memory stick and try going throught the Magic memory stick process again.

  • I tried it once and the files just didn't copy over properly and I had to redo this process again. It wokred fine then. let me know how you get on.

  • i did try it again,m about 17 times to be exact, my memory stick is a licensed memory stick, i still dont understand why it wont work. i think its my firmware, all because i made the stupid mistake of updating to 4.05 OFW. people keep telling me that 4.05 is NOT hackable, that Sony just decided to be a bunch of fagot/pansies, in whick i totally agree with.

  • do you have to keep it on the mains while you change the battery's, bacause i dont have the charger with me

  • dam the exact same thing happens to me i have psp slim & lite in white the converter (not the battery) battery service tool. and i it says that but never works dam

  • hello again, i have OFW 4.05, and i downloaded the files in the links provided, and i used a Datel Battery Service Tool, and it just wont work, when i go into TOOL mode the screen does NOT come up with the options to hack my PSP, what am I doing wrong???

  • Have you downloaded the neccessary files for your memory card and went through the process on your computer to put the files onto your memory card? (you should have got a "Congratulations! Magic memory stick creation finished!" message.) When you have the files on your memory card (make sure it's in your PSP) and then take out the original sony battery and insert the FULLY charged Datel Tool battery.

  • The menu should come up where it asks you to press "X" to install 3.80 m-33 CFW. Let me know if you are having any more problems with this and if you are doing it right.

P.S. Make sure you have charged you Datel tool battery correct.

    1. remove the original psp battery and plug in the AC power.

    2. Turn on the PSP so it is running through the AC power. Now insert your Datel Tool Battery. It should now begin to charge Leave the PSP on while the Tool battery is charging.

  • do u have to have date tool batery to do this or not

  • no any pandora battery will do

  • will i try to put it whith my othe batery didnt work
