One of these servants said that Brazil would become a great economy in the world and be free of inflation. At the time, we had two-digit inflation every month. It was difficult for many people to believe what the prophet said, but I believed. Brazil has had about 5 percent inflation each year for many consecutive years now. Brazil has become eighth in the world economy, and the country is doing great!

The living prophet is receiving specific revelations for us. I can remember many times when I have been present to hear one of the servants of the Lord speak about a specific thing for a city or country. I remember at least three of the living prophets, seers, and revelators who have spoken about my country, Brazil.

Second fundamental: “The living prophet is more vital to us than the standard works” (“Fourteen Fundamentals,” 26).

Elder Talmage didn't just randomly make up this date. He took it from Section 20 of the Doctrine and Covenants -- a collection of revelations mostly through the Mormon founding prophet, Joseph Smith Jr. Since his book, Mormons -- from church leaders to children -- have accepted April 6 as the real date of Jesus' birth. But not every member of the LDS Church agreed with Elder Talmage's interpretation of Doctrine and Covenants 20.

Since the early 20th century, many Mormons have thought they knew the exact date of the first Christmas. Elder James E. Talmage, an apostle of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, published a book in 1915 titled "Jesus the Christ," in which he wrote, "We believe that Jesus Christ was born in Bethlehem of Judea, April 6, B.C. 1."

"Kiss It Good-Bye" was released March 3 by Shadow Mountain, a publishing arm of Deseret Book. Moody didn't start by seeking out an LDS publisher, but he knew readers would need to understand The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in order to understand Law.

When asked about the fairy tale turn her life has taken in the last few days, Torah grins and giggles.

"(My life) is pretty perfect," she beamed. "I've found the man I want to spend the rest of my life with, and I've won a gold medal."

Fellow BYU-Idaho student Sera Caldwell said she remembers Davis well from family home evening.

After receiving a bachelor of arts in political science from Brigham Young University and a Ph.D. in international relations from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy in Boston, Brother King became assistant director of research and analysis for Radio Free Europe in Munich, Germany. For seven years during the Cold War, he helped ensure access to information for millions of Eastern Europeans.

Because of his testimony and others, a number of investigators have asked to learn more.

Elder Wirthlin had gone to bed at his Salt Lake City home, and died peacefully at about 11:30 pm of causes incident to age. His oldest daughter, Jane Wirthlin Parker, was present. A member of the family had been staying and caring for Elder Wirthlin, whose wife, Elisa Young Rogers Wirthlin, died in 2006.

Elder Wirthlin was a good man who only tried to make other people better. I think we can all learn from his good example.
