  • georgie was the man!

  • Hogg reminds me of Steve Carell from the office

  • he was at my school today he showed us the cinaman flipper and more he awsome

  • Brad Hogg should have been banned for sticking his tongue out every time he came into bowl! :P

  • @vicavox Haha I remember Richie Benaud commentating on it when they where playing a close up of his tongue moving left and right, it was pretty funny.

  • i loved him as a cricketer but when he abused sachin in india tour of aussie i never liked him for his behavior..i hate thses type of cricketers like watson, harbhajan, flintoff ,andre nel and many more these players get disrepute to the game

  • Brilliant

  • as a captain, i wud absolutely love it if i had two spinners in my side, with one being a left arm leg spinner and 1 being a right arm leg spinner...they get more turn then off spinners and more variation and would be the most hardest pair too face...harder than the opening bowlers for sure...if only austrailia had taken brad hogg AND another leggie in their side then they wud be truly indestructable :D

  • hauritz is starting to show his true measure with the bat & ball of late! Steve Smith is another contender who looks set to make his Australia debut in the ODI side. No matter how you look at it there seems to be an exciting crop of younger spin bowlers coming through the ranks!

  • i miss this guy...got all the tricks, such a good man to have in the squad, and 07 world cup...anyone remember his 45 or something off 17? that is G efing G man

  • @naruto345212 I miss the Australian Leg-spinning trio of Warne, Hogg & McGill. I miss Hogg the most because I'm also left-handed. Though now I watch Daniel Vettori more though.

  • @brynjones11 who is hogg? another average australian player like the 11 in the team right now?

  • @BelarusIsFun Hogg is a retired chinamen (left arm legspinner) and a very good retired left arm leggy at that.

  • ily brad hogg

  • Flower was a great player of spin as well.

  • ball of the tournament. missing ya hoggy

  • go the sheep dog

  • the flipper is the name of a particular bowling delivery used in cricket, generally by a leg spin bowler. In essence it is a back spin ball. Squeezed out of the front of the hand with the thumb and first and second fingers, it keeps deceptively low after pitching and can accordingly be very difficult to play. The flipper is comparable to a riseball in slow-pitch softball. The flipper is bowled on the opposite side to a slider, much in the same way that the top-spinner is bowled.

  • Against the fighty zimbabwe!

aha nahh but andy flower was a great batsman,

  • cant see the ball!!!

  • hoggy u legend

  • yep, and its much quicker then the other deliverys. I remember seeing shane warnes flippers up around 110km/h, legend and so was hoggy!!!

  • What is a fliper?

  • basically, it's a delivry that stays low and goes straight on, deveiving the batsman.

  • he wasnt really that good but he had a FUKING awesome flipper he got most of his wickets with his flipper

  • and his brilliant wrong 'un

  • I think they have bigger fish to fry in their country than their cricket side.

  • heheh, there was a gay cricket league (I can't remember which country where it was) and some bloke was batting and the keeper kept sledging him so he got upset and left the field

he was denoted as: retired hurt feelings

  • roll the fingers with the seam pointing the batsman... bowled quicker in the air and generally short of length to keep he batsman on the backfoot.

  • Its pretty much the opposite of the top spinner. He has his usuall grip witht the seam facing the batsmen and when he bowls he pretty much just clicks his fingers and it coms out of his hand backwards.

  • trust me when someone bowls andy flower (the best player of spin in the world at the time) with a flipper. U know it was an amazing ball.

  • What a loser he was, noone cared about him so at the end he said "fuck it I retire" still noone cared haha I saw his farewell at the 2nd final vs india cb series Oh heck he wasn't even allowed to play. SHAME!

  • you will be sorely missed hoggy.

  • agreed

  • Ummmmmm......Are you serious? He has kids and everything? I wish there was a gay cricketer though. It'd be interesting.

  • I'm an up and coming left hand bowler (maybe. hopefully) but i bowl pace but i can still bowl wrist spin. he is me idol! 77 so close man so close.

  • Hoggy is a far more Consistent bowler than Stuart MacGill, and in my opinion he's a far more enjoyable Bowler to watch! He has an Unbelievable Wrong-Un (As we call it here in AUS :P) and also bowls a great flipper as this video Suggests. Go Hoggy, You deserve the Boxing Day place mate!!!!

  • the hogg - dogg

should definitely play the boxing day test

im going and would love to see him play

not only can he bowl unpickable wronguns

    he can bat too

    LEGEND

    go hoggy

  • man great call with the batting after hoggys partnership with roy the other day!

  • haha cheers

well i knew he could hit a big 6

but hes also got sum classy shots up his sleeves lol

  • Wonderful release, can't really pick it.

  • im a leg spinner and can only bowl the leg break, top spinner and wrong'un

  • My man Brad

  • beauty

  • great ball

  • gunnish

  • it was a flipper. that's what a flipper does.

  • A flipper is normally quicker anyways!

  • Beautiful flipper!!!

  • it was a flipper.

  • that's not a flipper..just a quicker ball..good deception though..

  • my hero!

  • Hogg's a gun.
