  • Hey this was exactly what I was looking for. Thanks for posting this video up man.

  • @EasternSnap Hey thanks 4 watching, glad ya liked the vid

  • Dude, love your tattoo "It can't rain all the time" The Crow is one of the best movies ever made, just watched it last night :) Good video!

  • All guns should flex reguardless because at the molecular level nothing is actually "solid", it has to "give" a little. For the AK I would be more concerned about wear the metal to metal contact between bolt carrier and reciever versus cracking of the reciever. Good quality steel milled out should not crack. right? I mean MOST heavy machine guns are milled out. (exception M60) and they are big bore calibers. But I do agree cost wise stamp is the way to go, cause most people wont run it to death.

  • @NeverEnuffAmmo Would you reccomend a WASR-10? I would like an AK and i'm kinda on a budget. Please respond!!!

  • @WalrusLord756 A WASR 10 is a good rifle, they are an AK & still more durable than most other semi-auto rifles on the market. U do want to get one from a reputable dealer, u want to make sure that whoever assembled it from the romanian parts kit did a good job. I recommend buying from places like atlanticfirearmsDOTcom who have a good reputation for buying well assembled rifles. U don't want to get one that was assembled poorly, those are the ones with issues.

  • @NeverEnuffAmmo Thank ya very much. If and when I get one I will make a vid. Thanks for your help.

  • @NeverEnuffAmmo do you think i should buy the amd 65 from buds gun shop?

  • @SolarGangYoola Those AMD65's are good rifles, and bud's has 'em for a great price. If ya got the money its definitely worth picking up.

  • Is that ak a Russian ak? And if so where did you get it?

  • @theAK47beast No it's an InterOrdinance

  • Love AK vids, and this was a very good description of the differences. Great work as usual.

  • @acidlittle Glad ya liked it, thanks 4 watching

  • Nice Vid Bro! i have both the Stamped receiver AK-47 and a Milled reciever AK-47 and both have been solid rifles. i have multiple stamped AK's and of course the milled is heavier then my stamped rifles all though my MAK-90 is a bit more heavy duty and is almost as heavy as my Arsenal milled SAM-7 AK-47. all and all it doesnt matter to me if it is a stamped or milled reciever i like them all but i will say the Milled rifle does seem to be a bit more accurate

  • @gunnerrun13 Thanks 4 watching bro

  • I enjoyed the history. I never heard that before, cool.

  • @wyattoneable Cool, glad ya liked it, always try to be a little informative ..... lol

  • Sh@t...hit the reply button to soon...LOL...

I can say myself that I think I would have to go Milled receiver....just because...

They do make some Mods for the AK...

But all in all....I didn't get one....just to used to my ARs....

    Again Great vid Bro....

    Target On...E1

  • @ETHRON1 Thanks 4 watching bro, glad ya liked the vid!

  • Great vid my friend....

Awhile back when I was thinking of getting an AK...I looked at both...I could tell a major difference between the two when I picked them up....as well as when I racked the bolt...

You are very correct on all points....solidness, weight, and most definitely Cost...about 4 bills between the two...

  • I like cheapy. Stamped is more authentic =)

  • @FireArmsResQ Yup

  • excellent video, you brought up a lot of good info that most people dont include when discussing the "milled vs stamped" debate.

  • @scrimpyanimal Glad ya liked it, I just tried to give a little interesting history, thanks 4 watching

  • Nice vid Matt. Which one of your AK's is that?

  • @FletchBZMMT Thats my InterOrdinance

  • Very cool video Matt :-) I don't know much about AKs, since they're legally unobtainable here, and we were issued Diemaco C7A1s in the army. Glad to learn what i can :-)

  • @BobcatSchneidermann The C7 is a hell of a rifle, its a beautiful & high quality Colt AR style rifle

  • @NeverEnuffAmmo It sure is, I miss it almost every day.

  • @BobcatSchneidermann Yeah they need to take the ak's off the prohibited list, it's only on there because it scares people. After all the shit we do to get out PAL's the chance a criminal will get one is very unlikely, besides people still get them illegally.

  • @BALJIT147 Here in Denmark, every semi auto rifle with a detachable mag is illegal :-(

  • @BobcatSchneidermann NNOOOOOO thats horrible

  • @BALJIT147 True story. Makes me want to GTFO.

  • Good to know... thanks. Been wanting to get an ak for a while now...

  • @kameltoez Cool, glad ya liked the vid

  • I learned something ... damn it, I hate that!

    Love you!

  • @ebomey Lol ..... I love u too sweetness!

  • Still dont have a Battle rifle platform :( sadness

  • @069751 I'll build u one

  • Excellent video. 100% correct.

  • @mattrsauve101 Thanks bro

  • @NeverEnuffAmmo

Iunno man. Most AKs below it are around $500. The Saiga is less, but by the time I got it up to the level of the 39 (handguards, stock, conversion, mags), it would be about the same price... Maybe around $100 less. And I would have to worry about 922r.

There's things about it that I wouldn't be able to get in another package, know what I mean? I know the Saiga has a chrome-lined barrel, but I don't really want that.

You could debate either side, though.

  • @ootdega The biggest difference is that the Saiga is a high quality original Russian made AK and the Centurion is a Century Arms US made AK. The C39 while a great rifle will never be of the quality that a Saiga is regardless of what accessories they throw on it.

  • great video man

  • @rlashbrook6865 Thanks bro

  • By the way back in 1991 or so the MAK90 cost me $367.00.

  • Nice vid. I do have a MAK90 milled. I bought it back in 1991 or so. Took off the thumb hole stock and put the Tapco furniture on it. It is still rocking and rolling. Matt to this very day it has never jammed on me. That is one reason why I keep it as my main go to piece. I do have other options but why mess with a good thing. Keep up the very good work that you do on U Tube.

  • @45calvet Yeah its an AK, jamming should never be an issue, and on top of that its a MAK90 which are notoriously good AKs. That thing should last a lifetime.

  • i agree, i had a 1960 polish with a milled reciever and it was heavy. nice rifle but heavy. shooting in a standing position makes your arms tired fast. sold it for guy i work with. i still have my YUGO M70 folder. for me it was the way to go.

  • @vanhalen5150jhs Yeah when u take into consideration the cost, the weight and lack of flex it just doesn't make sense to go with a milled receiver

  • well i still like my sks and my remington semi auto 308 deer guns the thing about the ak is its a spray and pray gun as the sks will shoot nice groups but im not in a city im about 16 miles out of town and most shooting we would be doing is deer hunting

  • @geraldb4201 Yeah the SKS will give u better accuracy than the AK

  • Great vid bro! always love it when you upload a vid! =)

  • @iowndunoob I know u do ..... lol

  • very useful info man thanks for teaching me that as always great video

  • @jsholt123 Hey thanks 4 watching

  • My IO ak47-c is just a FUN shooter! It has a stamped receiver. I don't shoot for it for extreme accuracy because the last time I shot it (with spamcan ammo), it was shooting 24 inches high @ 200 yds!! But we were clanging a 20 inch gong once we figured that out! Lotsa fun!

  • @depoeslew1 Yeah I love my IO too

  • Good info

  • @jmmurdy thanks bro

  • I thought the AK was designed in '47 and put into service in '49.

  • @CornMakesWhiskey Yeah our right, I mispoke about the date cause I was concentrating on the receiver aspect of the history not the service date

  • good information! alot of this i already knew but there was alot u just taught me...and since i own one i need to know about it

  • @RECONHELLROY Cool, glad ya liked the vid, thanks 4 watching

  • Great info! Great bits of history. All in 6 minutes. Cool.

  • @SyberPrepper Yup, tried to keep it short .... lol

  • its better to be pissed off than pissed on i always say!! lol!! and always great vid!!

  • @kornbread426 Very true

  • This is the best and most informative AK-47 video on youtube!!! Awesome video my friend!!!

  • @fredhart Well I don't know about that but thanks

  • Meh, both rifles put holes on paper, and I've never seen either version of the receivers fail.

  • @MegaGevehr ive seen stamped receivers fail due to people not properly heat treating , they start to warp pretty bad , im pretty sure it just comes down to how much experience they when they make them factors in here both can fail =P

  • Nice, thanks for the info. Just picked up an AK with a stamped receiver a week ago and it kicks ass.

  • @BigSlimmyD Thanks 4 watching, congrats on the new rifle!

  • I Almost purchaced a milled rec, untill I Felt the Weight of it,got an I.O Instead ----- Also From What i Understand,If You decide to Change stocks, You Have far,far fewer options With a Milled rec ---- thanks, great vid

  • @tdawgee Yeah as I said there is nothing wrong with a milled receiver but when u factor in cost with a receiver that has less flex to it and u really get no benefits from it then it makes no sense to go for that version

  • @Prepper1776 Well I tried to make it clear that this wasn't a comprehensive history just a quick bit on the history of the receiver, but if someone wants to be concerned about the details I don't mind at all. Thanks 4 watching.

  • Badass vid

  • @Mr683465 Thanks bro

  • Great vid! GOD BLESS!

  • @TheDaytonDevil Appreciate that, thanks 4 watching bro

  • Nice AK Matt!! Thanks for the info and vid....

  • @MrKZizzle Thanks 4 watching

  • who makes this version AK? Please respond.

  • @PorkyEatsWorld InterOrdinance also known as I.O.

  • Thanks for the meantion. I think that is the first time someone pronounced it right! Another point is the thickness of the metal in a stamped receiver varies. (I'm sure others will meantion that) My MAK90 has a thicker gauge metal than a Romanian, Yugo, etc. Most rifles do flex around quite a bit, just barrel-whip, and that varies with the thickness of the barrel of course.

  • @taofledermaus I didn't think your name was that hard to pronounce ..... lol

  • great vid brother thanks for sharing keep the great vids coming i will be watching wish you all the best in 2012

  • @SHOOTERNW Thanks bro, I appreciate that

  • Matt did you polish your bolt or did it come that way?I was thinking of polishing mine:) looks nice polished.Dude i still havent shot my saiga lol been busy working my ass off.

  • @mercado391 Yeah I polished mine myself, a little sandpaper, some polish and a Dremel

  • @NeverEnuffAmmo ill be doing it soon thanks.sorry i missed you wed.came home late tired working long hours :)

  • An other point is.... (i could be wrong here) stock upgrades are also different. Going the milled route limits your choices on furniture.... Someone correct me if im wrong.

  • @ketel1 I believe there are some differences with some brands of furniture but there are still plenty out ther that will work with both

  • Hey,what exact model/make akm do you have?

  • @UlookinMe InterOrdinance AK47-C

  • Agree or disagree, I always enjoy your vids and learn something. Straight to the point. Thanks.

  • Agree or disagree, I always enjoy your vids. Straight to the point. Thanks.

  • @scooter17568 Thanks bro, I appreciate that

  • great vid =]

  • @SnkyCyanTurtle Thanks bro

  • i never knew all of that. thanks now i know wut kind i should get.

  • @LPATRON19 Cool, glad to help ya out, thanks 4 watching

  • I have both milled and stamped. And I agree that a milled receiver honestly has no advantage. I only like the milled receiver from a collector's standpoint.

  • Some misinformation. The Russians stopped producing the "AK-47" after 1959, but other countries like China and Bulgaria continued producing "AK-47" milled receiver rifles. The Russian adopted the "AK-47" in 1949, not 1947. As far as milled receivers cracking, this is just an unsubstantiated Internet myth with no solid evidence to back it up. A properly made milled receiver won't crack.

  • @esh325 Its not an internet myth that I'm aware of. My information doesn't come from online research, oit comes from real world applications & talking to proffesional shooters & getting their opinions on things. As I said it is not a given, simply more likey to happen to a milled than a stamped & thats just physics of certain forces of a certain magnitude being exerted on 2 different objects, one rigid and one with flex. The rigid object has a exponentially higher chance of cracking.

  • @NeverEnuffAmmo Can you name one account of it happening? That would mean Garand's,FAL's, and other milled automatics would be prone to cracking too.

  • @esh325 I never said I had an example, only using common sense and physics as a guide, along with speaking to professionals who train and run Ak rifles. Look at it this way ...... why do they make skyscrapers in a way that they are able to sway back and forth? Building like the ESB or the CN Tower sway up to 1 meter and are designed to do so to prevent cracking and other force on force issues. The Ak operates under the same principal, it is better to have a receiver that flexes.

  • @NeverEnuffAmmo Then it's an unsubstantiated claim. I'm not a engineer or a gunsmith, and while I'm sure many of the same properties apply, a rifle isn't a sky scraper though.

  • I've worked with some LE guys, "active shooter" made me cringe. FYI, in cop talk, active shooter is a guy who is actively killing people; often with a AK. No disrespect, but in the future I'd recommend switching to "frequent shooter" or something to that effect.

  • @Prepper1999 I know what it means to LE, I have 5 cops in my family, 1 of 'em is SWAT. I just used that term because it also accurately describes the type of shooter I was talking about

  • Isn't stamped lighter as well? I wasn't paying attention the whole video lol.

  • @LocutusIsBorg Yup ..... lol

  • Great info. I learned something as well.

  • @FogCityTactical Thanks bro

  • glad to hear your opinion on this my knowledge of aks is minimal as in pretty much 0

So I learned something from the vid... thanks

  • @BUCKrub91 Cool, glad to be of service .... lol. Thanks 4 watching

  • glad to hear your opinion on the subject.

  • @conatuslife Thanks, appreciate ya watching bro

  • Yeah you opened up a pandoras box lol. I think that stamped guns are just fine and if you ask me a milled AK mostly just adds alot of cost and weight which are two things you don't want in a battle rifle. I'm glad you mentioned a milled gun can crack... let the asshurt begin. LOL Alot of good guns are Stamped... milled guns are good for a collector item though since their pretty rare... if I wanna punch paper I'll buy an AR with a 20 inch barrel and a 8x scope =P For an AK go stamped.

  • @mrwhite4 There's no solid documented evidence that milled receivers crack. Unless, you can prove it with tools and gauges that the milled receiver doesn't take stress as well.

  • since i have a stamped receiver on my ak,im gonna go out on a limb here & agree with everything you just said! lol, however, you probably just opened pandoras box on you're comment srction! lmao!

  • @1dabirdman Yeah I probably pissed some people off ..... lol

  • Great vid

  • @piercemk Thanks bro

  • Go Bulgarian! ;)

  • @CaptainBerz Oh Yeah!!

  • Whoa! Whoa! Slow down there, speedy.

  • @EquipaPatriot I was trying to get it all in under 5 minutes, but I failed!!

  • @NeverEnuffAmmo But why? Don't you want to take advantage of the 15 min. time limit?

  • @EquipaPatriot No its just that I try to keep my vids short because nowdays in the "Internet Generation" people have a short attention span and I want people to actually watch so I try to keep the vids short and sweet ..... but it doesn't always work ..... lol

  • Haha, gotta love more videos inspired by the blogtv chats.

  • @charlesburton95 Yup, some good inspiration and conversations in there

  • lies!!! AK s have never had any problems in their history, and you claim russian tecnology of the 1940s was not the best in the world ? yea you can tell your an GayR 15 fanboy for sure now. next thing youll be saying is the 1911 is better than a GLOCK

  • @glock10mm Lol ....... nope, I'm fps ....... lol
