  • I am posting 2 videos because this is the 98th so I want it to go to 100. :-)

  • Whats a web app? A shortcut.

  • You can't say this is an appstore, this is just an index of webpages you can easly find on Google without "installing" them...

  • 3DS Teapot!

  • Why the new web store sucks:

    1. No related apps etc.

    2. LAGZ

    3. Comments?

    4. ????

    5. NOOBFIT

  • i think about 10 years from now, we would be able to play black ops on chrome!!

  • Participate: goo.gl\8ONjl and win iPad 2.

  • Win new iPad 2 at: goo.gl\8ONjl

  • THESE ARENT APPS, THEYRE JUST FANCY ASS BOOKMARKS

  • IN YOUR FACE SAFARI FIRE FOX AND IE

    HAHAAAAA

  • Contest started: goo.gl\QyzJ5 - obtain iPad 2.

  • What is a WEB APP? Web App is simply a Fancy Bookmark for a Fancy Website. That's All.

  • Don't watch this! Read this. A web app is simply just a page on the web that you can access any other way possible.

  • tudo que é bom tem que passar duas vezes para que possamos ver oque as pessoas humanas é capas de criar de bom ,porque o mal ja está em nossas vida e não o percebemos

  • i believe that advanced games and stuff like that will be seen at least 6 or 8 years later

  • will move after you remove other bookmarks from tools bar and have private browsing as default option

  • how do i delete an app seriously HELP

  • @kakuna121 Hover over one of the app icons on your new tab page. Click the wrench icon that appears. Then click Uninstall.

  • @bindia103 That one sentence is intentional troll bait.

  • angry birds is on!

  • TL;DW: What's a Web App? a website.

  • @bitcloud1 Not really. Some apps like Tweetdeck comes with what thay call a package. It comes pre loaded and some other apps work offline.

  • @bitcloud1 That's the point. Google is trying to say that a lot of websites these days do tasks that would normally be a program you download and install on your computer. Gmail is not a typical website that you read. It's an email client.

  • Absolutely pointless.

  • Det funkar inte!!!

  • Best web store really LOW prices:

    web4share[DOT]in

  • i got the app for google but i dont want it anymore can someone please tell me how to remove it?

  • @AzuuLHD in the new tab page, right click the icon of the app you'd like to uninstall, and click uninstall

  • Is awesome grom google to add web store

  • You are Great People/ than U Mr Google

  • Add APNG support ;D

  • so this is basically an index of flash games

  • @Madfoot713 Which is good. The extensions are really what makes Google Chrome the best. Google chrome might become more popular than Firefox's addons.

  • @Madfoot713 is kinda more HTML5 then flash

  • @Madfoot713 No, because flash is shit ;)

  • Good for you, but I don't want to deal with it. Where's my option to remove the "apps" from my new tab page? I tried editing the html, but I found no "save" feature.

  • games?

  • So if a web app is the new generation website then can somebody explain to me the difference between Chrome web store and Google search engine? Why in Gods name would I pay to 'install' a website that I can also just visit?

  • Comment removed

  • @ginno3 I'm already using Chrome but that has nothing to do with my (rhetorical) question.

  • @ArthurNL78 Don't take the 'store' literally. Most of the 'bookmarks' are free. Some of the apps are not even bookmarks, but actual apps. Some are worth the money.

  • @ArthurNL78 One: If it cost in the web store it probably cost to use that website. The web store is built for "apps" not "bookmarks" but it seems the bookmarks are making it in. I hope Google will at least add a filter so that it only shows real apps. For example the New York Times App is truly an App.

  • Try as I might, I just don't see the appeal of web apps. Maybe my standards are too high, but I just don't find much joy in using slow, bloated, inconsistent, and generally less configurable applications built on top of an unfinished revision to a text document format.

  • @evJeremy Yes, but these are developed for Chrome, not Internet Explorer.

  • Chrome 9 จะเร็วกว่า Chrome 8 มั๊ย ต้องลอง!!!! <3 Chrome ^^

  • What is a web app? A miserable little pile of bookmarks!

  • Who care about Web Store? It doesn't work on iPhone so fuck it.

  • Is Google going to be releasing SDKs specifically for creating web apps?

From a purely developer point of view, a major factor to getting people developing for Chrome OS is by making sure the apps are compatible with other browsers. Nobody likes to spend time learning a new environment and having to manage multiple versions of the same program/site.

  • @yudanielk they're written in either HTML or CSS

  • @Nnnvcg Oh... I thought Google was going to create a new model for the web apps that target Chrome kind of like what they did for Android.

  • 1:11 is a teapot. I GET IT!

  • Google is awesome, that's a fact.

  • THE GOOGLE "CHANGE" IS STARTED!

  • Umm....most of the items on the app store are nothing more than simple HTML/Flash pages. C'mon Google. Don't spit in my face and tell me it's running. Until chrome supports robust GUI manipulation like Firefox, the app store will never take off.

  • I think it's funny how they call bookmarks "apps".

  • @leevitron the apps are not bookmarks....

  • @leevitron You havn't tried Google Chrome Webstore, thats for sure!

  • CAN ANYBOY TELL ME WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN " CHROME EXTESIONS" AND "CHROME APPS"?

  • @bipenettt Apps are like full webpages with more advanced features and graphics. Extensions are just add ons to chrome that let you play around with random features.

  • @bipenettt An app is a website that does a task. For example, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and Google Docs are all web apps.

Where as extensions are little programs that you install on your browser to give it more functions. For example, the LastPass extension gives your browser the function of saving your passwords or the Google Dictionary extension lets your browser look up words without leaving the page.

  • @bipenettt Google did a couple of videos on these topics

  • I went on Mozilla's addon site and I found plenty of web apps/addons for Firefox. I can block ads, twitter, use FTP with FireFTP which no other browser has, receive notification on mail I received, share websites with Shareaholic, message my friends with meebo, use download accelerators, play music, download YouTube videos, back up my addons, view PDFs. Lots of things on Firefox, and it is all free!

  • @OnlyJustUnknown opera can block ads as well ^_^

  • @duminicad Opera is alright, it has torrents :P

  • @OnlyJustUnknown Chrome does almost everything you listed here. Plus it's light years faster and easier to use. Chrome is brand new and is already the third most used browser. Give it another year, it's still a baby.

  • @Theismisacrime I was just making a joke :P Chrome is seriously fast. But I don't think it can do FTP.

  • @OnlyJustUnknown Chrome has extensions which is just like Firefox addons. They have nearly everything firefox has in place of addons but now Chrome also had apps which is pretty cool. Firefox is just ugly and clunky no matter how much you tweak it.

  • @OnlyJustUnknown

It seems like you havn't even tried Google Chrome! You know, Chrome too have a louds of addons. All of the things you mention above is possible to find for Chrome too.

  • @SomeAtoms Don't worry, I am aware of all the Chrome addons. But does it have FTP? :D

  • Comment removed

  • @OnlyJustUnknown There is LOADS of ftp extensions for Google Chrome! Just search for ftp in chrome web store :)

But yeah, I guess their is some extensions that doesn't exist for google chrome and that besides the better configuration options in FF makes it to a good competitor, but right now I choose the speed of Chrome. Especially the instant start up time!

  • @OnlyJustUnknown AdBlock is available on Chrome too... for free.

  • I don't know that I can buy apps for now, in Poland. But free apps are installs smoothly.

  • I <3 Google. My goal is to work there.

  • @spy4561 PSHHHT good luck XD

  • @spy4561 My goal is that to<3 i love Google

  • @spy4561 me2 :)

  • @spy4561 Me too.

  • Shall there be free apps?

  • @Jourei91 yeah, i reckon most will be free

  • @Jourei91 All of them free. Which begs the question - why they call it a STORE?

And, I like the concept of web apps. It enables to do most of the relatively simple tasks, without actually overloading your computer with bunch of untested, or even potentially dangerous programs.

  • @darthfrik In the chrome keynote they showed at least one game that cost money.

  • @darthfrik - sounds good, we'll see... execution in the cloud will more than likely be pretty limited at first, and I won't be surprised if more complex software has to be stored locally to run well, in which case you'll still have to download, update and execute that code locally... same thing if you want something for offline use...

  • Looks really great! But when's the website going up? Reply please! (:

  • Comment removed

  • think it's up for the us today, everywhere else beginning of 2011

  • @rapeutical Bummer!

  • @rapeutical Web Store works for me in Poland.
