  • "These little dumplings..." They certainly look like dumplings. oO"

  • My Shar Pei Sandy loved this video. She watched intensely .

  • Need to be rename American Shar pei.

  • Only dog I'll ever own.

  • Thank god this video had sub-titles, or i would have had no idea what the hell was being said.

  • These dogs were bred to fight and kill. They are extremely powerful and dangerous. They are NOT good pets for the average owner. Do not buy one because you think it is cute!

  • @RamenReturns ur pretty ignorant, they are bred to gaurd. they are bred to live a fight. its not in their nature, BUT ANY DOG WILL ATTACK... dumbass

  • @ViolentEncounter The only ignorant people are the ones that believe this video. I adopted one of these dogs, and I promise you it will kill any smaller dog it encounters. It's in its blood.

Sorry you're mad about reality, maybe if you close your eyes and concentrate really hard you can make it go away! Good luck!

  • @RamenReturns Maybe the dog you adopted was not raised well by his owner? It's never the dog.

  • @RamenReturns It all depends on the dog and how you raise it. I have a five year old shar pei, Lucy, and she is the sweetest dog ever, we can trust her around my one year old brother, she's such a good dog. She has NEVER EVER in her five years attacked, snapped, or been a threat to anyone or anything. Our shar pei rot mix will bite your ass, but Lucy will just come sit by you and wait to be petted. It just depends on the dog and owner.

  • i have a shar-pei puppy her name is sweetie she is the most awesome pet that i have ever had!!!

  • Hehe. I have a shar-pei. Her name is Wrinkles. I love her :-)

  • OMGOMGM SO CUTEEEE

  • My baby Sara made me laugh out loud from the first day i got her, every day, for the past two years. I love all kinds of dogs, but the Shar Pei is funnier.

  • Thank you so much for posting this up, I don't think we get this programme in England so am thrilled to be able to watch it on here. I've got a Bear Coat and he's adorable. I can really relate to the lady who says she can't be without a Pei

  • i have one!!!so adorable!!!

  • if anybody knows where i can find one let me know... i want one bad...email me @...

    smokedgtprix@aol.com

  • @RJVermillion It depends on where you are in the US, but if you live in a pretty populated area, you might be able to get one from a rescue group that specializes in Sher-Pei's. I know there are some in the VA/DC/MD area, as well as New York and California. If you are looking for a puppy, you will have to find a breeder. Try using Google or Bing for that and get as much info as you can before buying. Good luck.

  • The lady says ppl stop forgetting their dogs and eating them? That's why the breed shar pei r going away? Eating their dog? WoW!! How professional is that for a dog trainer.

  • @Stunname She is referring to a time in China where people were literally starting to death and may have had to resort to eating whatever animals they had in their household. China's staple meat is pork, but during the 1950s, there was a shortage.

  • There are 3 different coat types for shar pei, is there one that has less of a chance of giving a rash ???

  • @hd92122 Yes, the brushcoat or the bearcoat (the bearcoat is outside of the breed standard). I have extremely sensitive skin and my shar-pei is a brushcoat. We got him from Dee Dee Wells. He has never given me, my husband, or any of our friends a skin allergy. We cuddle him a lot, basically treat him like a baby. He is also quite soft, unlike the horsecoat shar-pei, whose skin texture is that is sandpaper. I would say that my shar-pei is definitely softer than a beagle or a doberman.

  • @admenocal Thank you so much !! :D

  • at 4:37 the shar pei face looks like a... Labrador...

  • Im getting one tonight.!

  • Im gonna get on in a few months

  • i own one hes my best friend and he trys to be a lap dog xD but gets sad wen he cant fit on my lap love u sinister

  • I have one for adoption.Unfortunately, where I live (City) there are buttheads who do not understand the breed..mistreat, etc...I brought on back to health.

  • My shar pei is the greatest dog I've ever had. Although he isn't 100% He is an Akita mix. You could not ask for a more loyal and trustworthy dog. Perfect pet.

  • is the coat really so "sand"- like cause it looks really really soft!

  • The godless commie chinks decided they no longer liked the breed so they decided "hey, let's just kill them all."

  • I have a 95%shar pei 5% lab mix that we rescued she could not be sweeter with all her scars I thought shed be mean but she loves everybody

  • i have one my mom paid 1500 for the goddamn thing i thought it was going to be cool these dogs are as stupid as any other shit up your house chew on everything

  • @86camaroboy its cuz you didnt train it fucktard

  • @boomkat16 hey bud you can go fuck yourself you fucking pussy

  • @86camaroboy oooo wow thats nice xD just grow up and get over it face it ur a bad owner!!!!

  • @boomkat16 im not the goddamn owner

  • all those wrinkles are what make this breed unhealthy, americans created this problem because they wanted the breed to be more cudly but they did not think how it would affect the animal, this is cruel people should not mess with a animals DNA just leave them how they should be, Traditional

  • im hoping to adopt a almost 1 year old this week. I hope they call me back! I want one soooo bad!

  • they are so difficult to keep clean.. all those folds accumulate so much oil and dirt! a total nightmare to clean.. not for the lazy person!

  • @CharlieRussell03 they are not all the same, mine is a 3 year old traditional shar pei and she's always clean, but she does'nt have many wrinkles only on her face ! you must have the western type :D

  • This is the best dog i have ever had

  • in the old pictures ... shar pei dogs look bigger ?

  • LOL 2000$? ... Love my sharpei...i think im lucky to have 1 and also to have a rare "blue" sharpei to. 2000$...seriously...if that's a price of a yellow colourd one...than i could eventually sell mine for double the price-_-;

Fun facts: Diego Maradona (coach of Argentinian FIFA soccer team) owned one in hes family, got bitten.

(dont worry i wont sell the little girl.)

  • I adored see shar pei brusching the teeth!!

  • are they hard to take care of bcase im getting a chihuahua mix puppy with shar pei

  • @criptanizer some of them can be, the western type are more difficult because of all the wrinkles but the traditional shar pei are verry easy to look after, obviously i cant say for a mix breed but the more wrinkles it has the harder it will be to keep clean and the western type get a lot of skin disease also :D

  • @ 5:35 Looks a splitting image to mine at that age.

    Reuben is 6 Now

  • They weren't bred to guard, that's a lame excuse. They were bred to be pit dogs- that doesn't make them less awesome.

  • @superlou1s no they weren't bred for being pit dogs. they were bred to guard royalty at first then they were adapted to farms thats how they became known for the fighting. but u r right they r awesome

  • Ha, ha. Romanian hard-subbed. :))

  • These are actually not even close to what the original traditional Chinese Shar Pei looks like.

  • ehe,,,bravo uploader ca are si sub ;)

  • nice.......

  • Does anyone know DD's website or contact?

  • i have an 8 yr old Pei... with some health issues like seizures and a bit of stomach problem where he tends to drool alot...

  • seizures?is it epileptic?:-((

  • i have a shar pei to but she is just a puppy and her tongue color is changing to purple is that natural please comment back

  • it is, don't worry :P

  • not to be rude but if you have any health concerns of your pet take it to a vet just to be safe, dont consult youtube...

  • @waterhorselover3 yes its completely natural dont worry about it :)

  • Best dog I've ever owned.

    Best dog I've ever seen.

  • god u aint kidding when ya say they were breed to guard, my sharpei wont let noboby in my house without growling and showing her teeth..and shes only 8 months !

  • Hey I just got a half shar pie, half blue nose pit. It makes a very good mix, trust me. Its all black except has a white strip on its chin.

  • i have a Pei as well...he's 8 yrs.old, very sweet dog!cautious breed though that tends to end up to aggressiveness...i say this 'coz less than a year ago i had to leave him at the hospital overnight for medical reasons...and that totally changed him,now he's always nervous, restless and even bites...i love my Pei i've had him since he was only a pup,it just breaks my heart that this happens to him when he should just enjoy the rest of his life...

  • i "saved" 2 Shar-Pei.they are so beautiful.they are the most loving companions ...they are not dangerous My little one "Boo" is scared of our cat !!! and the cat "minki" knows she is in charge....what a beautiful breed of dog they R....they are MY WORLD !!!!!!

  • My family has had 2 shar-pei in the past. Both of which were amazing dogs. The last sharpei we had for 14 years before he passed away but we got another puppy when he was about 3 years old (boxer-mastif mix) and they were best pals to the end =). They are not violent, but very defensive over the family. People stoped trying to dog fight them in their past history because they didn't have the temperment for it if that tells you anything about thier personality.

  • you have got to be the bigggest cunt i have ever seen on youtube i hope you rot in hell

  • J'aime des Shar-peis.

  • Comment removed

  • I heard Shar pei were very untrusting and unfriendly dogs by nature... Is this true?

    For example.)

If I get 2 dogs, a shar pei and another breed, about the same size, can the get along? And what if theyre both males? Does it matter?

    COULD SOMEONE PLEASE RESPOND!!!!??

  • This is SOOOO false. They are noble dogs that like to play with children...obviously if they are treated very good.

Shar Pei's are dogs that bark quietly.

  • i looove shar-peis... but I never knew that sometimes if you pet one, you break out in a rash!? I have done a lot of research and nobody has said that. Can someone please explain this?

  • i have a shar pei thats mixed with a rottweiler. its honestly a really good mix because they dont get as many health problems.

  • Im getting one of them!

  • dont do it ollie lol

  • lol i have no choice now my girlfriend is dead set on one and im not too keen on sleeping under the stars

  • I think its down to the owner ive had a pitbull and i was told all the storys and my was fine no problems, cheers though

  • Then why is my dog (shar-pie) very loyal, always sits next to and never runs away when i pet it? Oh that's right they are called MANS BEST FRIEND for a fucken reason, it the trainers fault!

  • Yes it is the trainer's fault. Dogs are amazing. They protect their human carer. Tell me, does your dog protect you so much that it will bark at a possible attacker etc but shy away if the same possible 'attacker/friend/friend's child/postman/gasman' walks toward it? If yes - sharpei equals classic bully like tendencies = arsehole animal.

  • You know what? I doubt you've actually had one, and if you did, then big deal because your an ignorant ass anyway. They are great dogs. Your wrong.

  • My dog, of cource like ALL OTHER FUCKEN DOGS!, barks at strangers but he won't go crazy how your putting it!

  • Heard of nature vs nurture? maybe the arsehole is the owner who shouldn't have a dog in the first place or never bothered to learn how to raise one - your experience was perhaps with an inbred dog from a puppy mill? If so I hope you learned your lesson. Why not get a nice fish? I hear they are quiet....

  • good for you i bet you have a useless pussy dogg like paris hilton the slut MissTennille good luck when the next wave of burgulars hit town lol

  • @MissTennille1 well you mite be happy that they got rid of it but you wont be happy wen they just step on your

pussy ass purse dog and killed it on the spot and steal your shit

  • Totally agree with u!!! You are totally right about the nature vs. nurture aspect of the situation: many ppl. lay most of the blame on specific dog breeds w/o realizing that the way that dogs are being nurtured is the deciding factor on the dogs' temperament. We humans always blame others for our own faults and instead of turning dog breeds into scapegaots, we really should take full responsibility for our own actions---u hear that MissTennille?

  • this is for the miss tennille hey fucking bitch why you don't go for training so you can learn and listen better than a sharpei

  • what are you talkn about

  • Shar-Pei are the funniest dogs I've seen. My brother and he's GF had 2 Shar-Pei's, now one. They're hilarious and friendly, with their funny tricks and stuff.

  • i luv shar peis!!!! i had 3 of them..muh 1st dog was a shar pei and gawd she was and is the best even though she passed on.i dont kno wut i would do with out muh dogs =]] best dogs ever

  • What language is the closed captioning in? It looks like a romance language but not one I've heard or read. If forced to guess I'd say Portugese.

  • They are so cute!!..I have a shar pei 4 month old named Sasha

  • i love this dogs! they are great ;)

  • i juz lurve those dogs their juz so cute!!! i want 1 also!!!=]

  • I have a Shar pei.. so cute. :D.. like the guy said in the video, sharpeis have a lot of health issues. My dog has something wrong with his eyes.. they drip all the time. Took him to get surgery, and didnt see anything different. Doctor must not have known what he was doing. :/

  • The teary eye is caused by dryness. You could have avoided everything if you put Neosporin or Vit E oil in their eyes once a week or as per necessity. Most vets are ill-educated in Shar Pei. The breed has no higher degree of health problems than other dogs. Some Breeders are very irresponsible and exchange healthy dogs for ones with super-abundant wrinkles because they sell better

  • I have a 2 year old it isnt as big as the other, why not

  • Shar Pei can be as high as 24 inches at the shoulder to as short as 15 or 16. Some breeders specialize in "minis" which are even shorter

    Debbie

  • i have one, her name is sushi, she is the most AMAZING dog ever, she is loyal, kind, so trustworthy, highly intelligent and i love her to bits!!!!!!!!!!

  • Sharpeis are badass, a friend of mine had one named Rocko for a long time. They're very protective of their owners, which can be good or bad. Unfortunately they are somewhat greasy and should be bathed a bit more often, especially males. They have horrible eyesight too, I remember once pulling up in my car and Rocko came out to greet me. I was gathering my stuff up and opened the door a little but not all the way, the poor dog walked right into the door headfirst, haha.

  • scottcoleatgmail; Don't blame any of this on the breed. They apparently are problems to this particular dog. My friends Shar pei can see me coming a block away, he's no oilier than my black lab and just as friendly.

  • Sharpei's are a beautiful interesting breed and breeding the problems out of them will be a good thing.

  • My dad and my dog are in this...

  • liar

  • i wanna get a shar pei and call it HIPPO!

  • How bad are the health problems of a Shar Pei? Are they only unhealthy if you dont lok after them?

  • Every breed has health problems :( Typical problems: entropion, ear infections, allergy, dysplasia, Familial Shar-Pei Fever, amyloidosis, mucinosis

  • its VERY common for a shar pei to have eye problems :(

  • La Poo? LOL

  • I'm hoping to get a shar pei!

  • shar peis are the best dogs!
