@mmysama I drive a 2009 Honda Accord. I bought it new, brand new. Within the first 4 months, had to change the battery. Within 12,000 kms, the rear brakes had to be changed -- ridiculous. Nowadays when I step on the brakes, I hear a squeaking sound from the back of the vehicle. Yesterday, while turning left, the steering wheel was making an odd sound. Honda has lost my faith. I will never buy a fucking Japanese vehicle.
No wonder the US is in such dire economic straights. Idiots have been filling the coffers of foreign auto makers for decades now, taking the infrastructure dollars and sending the money across the sea to foreign lands, instead of supporting American auto makers. No, not all of course. Just the idiots that have no economic knowledge or moral compass to be true to our own.
I have a Lexus es350 which was fixed in the recall. W8ing till l8 April so I can get a new redesiegned pedal. I'm rlly not worried at all and still have faith In Toyota

AGUSWIDJAJA, I am sorry to hear that one of the motor vehicles you own is not performing satisfactorily, regardless of which company manufactured it and which country its head office is located.
I hope that IF any fatal flaws should appear--brakes failing, sudden acceleration, exploding airbags, etc--which could potentially put your and your passengers' life and limb at risk, the manufacturer PROMPTLY repairs the defect.
And I hope that the company does not compound the problem by denying the existence of a serious defect which you would know truly exists; I hope they do not add insult to injury by BLAMING YOU.
I hope that if they are aware of similar defects in other models or other units of the same model, they inform you before you actually find yourself at risk of injury or death, instead of attending only to those who complain. And I hope they do not rejoice over "savings" from the above.

and another issue was the ECM which controls the drive by wire system.. wasnt programmed for safety.... the company really cuts down on everything during the ressession time.. and didnt really care on anything to respond to re-engineer nor to re program the ECM..
I'm a whistle blower... as an engineer for Toyota for years.. all i can say we did wrong was to keep using the same parts over and over in some vehicles.. in this case an old pedal design was used to a bigger car which created so much room between the floor.. which gets stuck in some point between the mats..
My 2008 Prius is a good car; not very powerful in terms of horsepower, but solid and reliable and comfortable to drive. I think this is an unfortunate event for Toyota. Toyota has a strong record of longevity and safety over the decades. They can be found in the richest of countries and the poorest of countries and are generally inexpensive to maintain. These recalls just go to show that ultimately, a product is only as good as the people who made it. Perfection is impossible in our machines.

SUA has been an issue since 1999. toyota didn't start using CTS until 2005. toyota has often honoured CTS on high quality and service. This is in fact a software glitch borne of the toyota GR-FE engine using ETCS-i technology MADE BY DENSO IN JAPAN.

toyota we'll rise again..japanese car companies are known for best customer support and i agree with the guys statement at the end. i was a toyota customer in autralia and i was happy. im a GM costumer in canada and to them if something is broken its always replace with new not trying to see what can actually be fixed. with replacement of new items its always cost more money for car owners--profit for maker. i prefer the japanese (all car makers) garuntee than the GM garuntee in canada.

These accidents and problems are due to HUMAN ERRORS and not mechanical failures.
Furthermore GM had recalled a huge number of cars which are many times higher than Toyota did.
In short, GM and govt have no choice but to go begging Toyota for money in the name of negative campaigning.

I'm a whistle blower... as an engineer for Toyota for years.. all i can say we did wrong was to keep using the same parts over and over in some vehicles.. in this case an old pedal design was used to a bigger car which created so much room between the floor.. which gets stuck in some point between the mats..

My 2008 Prius is a good car; not very powerful in terms of horsepower, but solid and reliable and comfortable to drive. I think this is an unfortunate event for Toyota. Toyota has a strong record of longevity and safety over the decades. They can be found in the richest of countries and the poorest of countries and are generally inexpensive to maintain. These recalls just go to show that ultimately, a product is only as good as the people who made it. Perfection is impossible in our machines.

There's NEVER been a better time than now to buy a Toyota, and I wouldn't hesitate to do just that, except my 2007 Tacoma (125,000 miles) still runs so perfectly I have no need for a new one yet.

And many other Japanese brands are also ok and not recalled, but far better than American cars. I will never buy American, never! >:( However, I will not buy certain new Toyotas either. I will continue to have 1986-7 Tercels! :)

toyota we'll rise again..japanese car companies are known for best customer support and i agree with the guys statement at the end. i was a toyota customer in autralia and i was happy. im a GM costumer in canada and to them if something is broken its always replace with new not trying to see what can actually be fixed. with replacement of new items its always cost more money for car owners--profit for maker. i prefer the japanese (all car makers) garuntee than the GM garuntee in canada.
