Rome sucks my ass!! My ancestors were Romans and they conquered half the world!! Greece sucked because each city couldn't join and creat a battle plan to conquer and instead only joined when Greece itself was attacked

I really loved the loading screens with this music playing, my fav is the hoplite phalanx load screen. Must have been terrifying for enemies of Greeks to face that bristling wall of armoured hoplites, inumerable spearsheads pointed at you.

but what i really have to admit is Empire total war, now that confuses the fuck outta of my head lol. but it's still a great game.... they should now make World War 1 Total war xD? then WW2 Total war... then Cold War Total war with Exp. Pack (Vietnam Total war, Ultramar Total war, Falklands Total war xD etc).... and at last Middle east Total War or Insurgency Total War... lol WTF!!!

@Clavsicus Well, I happen to know they would, but the entire game engine would need to be revised for trench warfare, and things like that. If you really want to see what it could be like, there's a mod out there for Napoleon - Total War that seems pretty awesome. Flamethrowers, barbed wire and stuff, it's sweet.

People are saying it's complicated to play RTW... lol.... sounds simple to me.... except that i hate when some of your territories gives u -$ at the end of a turn xD. If those people say its complicated then they should try Medieval 2... it's almost the same, just with better graphics, different timeline... and a few more other things added....

When I hear this it reminds me of that scene from the intro to RTW BI you know when that scene when the roman acrchers are standing on the wall while that masive horde of barbarians charges with thorches and stuff. I always imagne a still photo of that when i hear this.

Gotta get used to the complex campaigning - I thought Medieval was complicated!!

RTW is a really fun game once you know how to play it well. Medieval II and Empire will seem even more complex is you think Rome is complex.

One thing that always tips me off in Rome are the Marius Reforms. I get so used to hastati and equites that the new units throw me off :D

Try to focus on your trade in the beginning. Only make as much units as you need to fight and keep your people happy in settlements or else it'll effect how much money you ger from all settlements. You won'y have to worry about religion in RTW line in Medieval. It's mostly a race difference thing so for example, if you conquer a Greek settlements as a Roman, destroy or build over the Greek buildings or your people will be unhappy. Running out of space, if you need more advice send me a message.
