The only issue with an electric car is that the energy still has to come from somewhere. So, where does it come from? A power plant. And the power plant burns coal to create power. so, it is just as bad as using a car.

No, it's not equally bad, because it creates less pollution to generate electricity at a 60% energy efficient coal plant than it does to burn fuel in a 35% efficient internal combustion engine. There's some loss from sending that energy to your car over powerlines, but the electric motor itself is 95% efficient, which more than compensates for that.

I know it's difficult to understand these concepts and your version is simpler and more appealing, but it's factually wrong.
