He's SUPPOSED to be a homer, that's his friggin' job. He's damn good at it. Great voice for radio, awesome cadence. Plus, his homerism doesn't detract from solid analysis of the game. Kamal was good in ATL but was/is always jealous of Buffalo for having Rick.

Doc sucks at calling games for the Devils, the NBC announcers should get off their knees cause they blow at calling a game and we all know we mute the games with VS announcers. Paul Steigerwald is definitely the worst though. So much bias, so unentertaining, makes me rage so hard. I'm a huge Avs fan, but Mike Haynes is pretty terrible, too, haha. HOWEVER, he's pretty funny about it. He basically has all the bias of Paul, but at least the good intentions to try and cover it while being unintentionally entertaining as fuck.
I wouldnt say hes the worst, but his voice can get annoying, especially when it "winds up" when theres action in front of the net. Gets a tad too emotional most of the time.
Anyway he should be on this list but definitely not first of the worst

@ebtricks The way he announces games...it belongs on the radio, not on TV. I will admit that he is a slight improvement than Duth McCloud (I'm sure Avs fans probably forgot about him). Honestly, Avalanche hockey doesn't sound the same unless John Kelly calls the games. However, I will take back what I said about Haynes being the league's worst announcer; that distinction belongs to Jeff Rimer of the Columbus Blow Jackets...he is definitely worse than Steigerwald when it comes to calling games.

Here's the thing about Jeanneret, calls the play exceptionally well, so well in fact that you can leave the room, just listen to him, and still know what's going on.
While he shows more excitement in his voice when calling a big Sabres goal than when the Sabres get scored against, but he never openly roots for them. Never yells "Yes!" or "woo hoo" when the Sabres score, which I've heard other homer announcers do. So yes there's excitement, but not as blatant as other announcers can be. (IMO)

Um, you're pretty much the only asshole who doesn't like RJ. Doc sucks at calling games for the Devils, the NBC announcers should get off their knees cause they blow at calling a game and we all know we mute the games with VS announcers. Don Cherry and Hockey Night in Canada commentators are the only other ones that are half way decent at play-by-play. Good try though, you still are an idiot.

Paul Steigerwald is definitely the worst though. So much bias, so unentertaining, makes me rage so hard. I'm a huge Avs fan, but Mike Haynes is pretty terrible, too, haha. HOWEVER, he's pretty funny about it. He basically has all the bias of Paul, but at least the good intentions to try and cover it while being unintentionally entertaining as fuck.

I wouldnt say hes the worst, but his voice can get annoying, especially when it "winds up" when theres action in front of the net. Gets a tad too emotional most of the time.

@ebtricks The way he announces games...it belongs on the radio, not on TV. I will admit that he is a slight improvement than Duth McCloud (I'm sure Avs fans probably forgot about him). Honestly, Avalanche hockey doesn't sound the same unless John Kelly calls the games. However, I will take back what I said about Haynes being the league's worst announcer; that distinction belongs to Jeff Rimer of the Columbus Blow Jackets...he is definitely worse than Steigerwald when it comes to calling games.

@sinbinuniversity ACTUALLY, he used to be on radio and he was even more wild, but now he's cooled down quite a bit more besides the occasional pivotal event. Avs fans actually like Mike more than John. He just brings another level of enthusiasm to every game you watch. He and Peter McNab go together perfectly.

Here's the thing about Jeanneret, calls the play exceptionally well, so well in fact that you can leave the room, just listen to him, and still know what's going on.
While he shows more excitement in his voice when calling a big Sabres goal than when the Sabres get scored against, but he never openly roots for them. Never yells "Yes!" or "woo hoo" when the Sabres score, which I've heard other homer announcers do. So yes there's excitement, but not as blatant as other announcers can be. (IMO)
