If I'm going to watch GetAMac commercials which hint macs are impervious to malware, and pay double for a computer that's way slower than my pc, I expect it to not get any malware. But the real truth turns out to be that the more popular mac gets, the more malware it gets. Screw that. Besides all people should backup anyway and it's easy to do. You can can keep your over priced, slower mac, with a smaller software base, that STILL can get malware.
I remember the Sony chairman trying to get out of that hole but could only draw blank after blank. It was painful to watch and I really felt for him. That is why people like the AT&T CEO often go on stage with flash cards...

Mac can run Quake faster than Windows. A Mac Pro has 166 fps in Doom 3, 1280x1024, AA 8x, AA 4x. Anyway, the mistakes in the video was just very little mistakes.
And also, how many FPS can it run Quake 3 at? I could run it at around 500FPS during action, as many as 900FPS standing still, with my geforce 7800 GTX (no SLI, just one).
Well... in action around 500 and 1100 standing still. There is an optimized version of Quake 3 for Macintosh which take advantage of Mac OS X (which is OpenGL based, not DirectX Based). So, all games OpenGL based compiled for Mac runs faster than a OpenGL game for Windows.
oh. well..I dunno. my friend has a apple laptop she can do alot of things with it. So Jim, both programs has its pros and cons. Maybe they should emerge together like sprint/nextel.
actually even the new macs have windows in them. one of my friends has had a windows for so long and then he got a macbook and he likes it a lot better. he can do a lot more with videos and music a lot easier
I dissagree, I have 2 friends with G5's and both crash on a pretty regular basis. My custom built pc hasn't crashed once in 2 and a 1/2 years. Both platforms are great though and will get the job done. To me, having used both quite a bit, they seem to be equal overall. I just don't like the new mac ads, trying to give the perspective that Macs are god's gift to the personal computer user. All computers have problems here and there. Just use what feels comfortable to you :)

We use mainly PC in digital animation because we can tailor our systems to handle our specific needs better than MAC setups can provide, just FYI digital artist that do 2D illustration use MAC, we do use both but PC's are just so much cheaper and easier to upgrade than MACs. Just some insight, no bashing who's better each has a purpose and BOTH have PROS and CONS to each his own.

Mac can run Quake faster than Windows. A Mac Pro has 166 fps in Doom 3, 1280x1024, AA 8x, AA 4x. Anyway, the mistakes in the video was just very little mistakes.

And also, how many FPS can it run Quake 3 at? I could run it at around 500FPS during action, as many as 900FPS standing still, with my geforce 7800 GTX (no SLI, just one).

Well... in action around 500 and 1100 standing still. There is an optimized version of Quake 3 for Macintosh which take advantage of Mac OS X (which is OpenGL based, not DirectX Based). So, all games OpenGL based compiled for Mac runs faster than a OpenGL game for Windows.

oh. well..I dunno. my friend has a apple laptop she can do alot of things with it. So Jim, both programs has its pros and cons. Maybe they should emerge together like sprint/nextel.

actually even the new macs have windows in them. one of my friends has had a windows for so long and then he got a macbook and he likes it a lot better. he can do a lot more with videos and music a lot easier

I dissagree, I have 2 friends with G5's and both crash on a pretty regular basis. My custom built pc hasn't crashed once in 2 and a 1/2 years. Both platforms are great though and will get the job done. To me, having used both quite a bit, they seem to be equal overall. I just don't like the new mac ads, trying to give the perspective that Macs are god's gift to the personal computer user. All computers have problems here and there. Just use what feels comfortable to you :)

This is the most idiotic show. I think that man has issues. He proved his mac has a higher rate of malfunctioning. Bill Gates is the legendary man. We love over here in new york. He is the genius. And always will be. I love windows xp. It does everything I need. updates on its own. We are evolving. His programs are better now. He just came out with a new type of windows. Hopefully we won't have to have virus protection for it.

Windows Vista? Evolved? Please. Linux can be used as a windows emulator. And all the pretty visual effects that Vista features were already available as freeware and you don't even need high-end hardware

Just FYI, idiot...every OS updates on its own, since...I don't know, the last 5-6 years, at least. 5 minutes of slip-ups doesn't catch up to M$ 20+ years of slip-ups. And Windows will ALWAYS need virus protection because there will ALWAYS be holes in Windows defense. Jackass.

We use mainly PC in digital animation because we can tailor our systems to handle our specific needs better than MAC setups can provide, just FYI digital artist that do 2D illustration use MAC, we do use both but PC's are just so much cheaper and easier to upgrade than MACs. Just some insight, no bashing who's better each has a purpose and BOTH have PROS and CONS to each his own.

maybe for email and pron, but for any real work a Mac needs to be learned just like any other PC ( as a Mac is technically also a PC). Plus if a user is used to Windows, OS10 is tough to learn well, and vice versa. It all depends on prior user experience. Normal PCs are for computer gurus, Macs are for tech phobes.

lol its pretty bad that micrsoft has to keep trying to come up with "USERFREINDLY" ways to use an os because of the dumb people in this world that just refuse to pick up a manual and read you say micrsoft has errors every 5 minutes that why since using a computer i may have had around 12 errors from M$ wich is pretty good considering iv been using the M$ os since 3.1 so all i can say is dont blame the system for your errors its always the operator and never the system.
