@Octaviomusic Maybe because you study psychology and 'have a great passion for hypnosis' perhaps you have too many pre determined ideas of what's going to happen or how you're being hypnotized therefore not totally letting go. Maybe. Just an educated guess really. Good luck! :)

Why can't I be Hypnotized? I'm a Psychology student and I have great passion for Hypnosis, but I cannot be hypnotized. i even took a hypnosis course, with a professional. I event went to two of his shows, and he was amazing! However I never felt anything with him.

Then I tried with other professionals and sill no luck. They said I was a rare case or bad subject -- for some reason. I am dying to know how it's like to be under hypnosis.

Any suggestions on how I could overcome this?

ive seen real hypnosis and you need more time

and if you want to hypnotise somenone on the fly like that you need to use the hand jolting technique....

I think if this is real, maybe the person´s who are hypnotised only can fall asleep if they really want to.

I mean, i dont think i personally would just fall asleep when someone just snapped their fingers and told me to...

Hypnosis is the art of communication. To get others to do as you say without question. Tony was a hypnotist. Gordon Brown is not.

Yes this is real.. I've been hypnotized like that before... and I thought I couldn't be... but its all in his language... he distracts the conscious mind and when its off looking at a light or thinking about not being hypnotized he quickly gives the command to sleep and the unconscious mind just sleeps...

I understand the shock inductions.. but how did you hypnotize the first 2 subjects? Is that shock inductions as well and if so where is the shock?

no its a fixation and shock induction, where someones eyes are fixated on something then their focus is interupted (shock) by his hand

he's distracting her... he tests her compliance and if you notice he anchors the word hypnotized when he touches her then he raises the other girls arm, while she wonders what he's doing... as she takes a deep breath he says sleep and she does
