Top speed Nidokings, even while Modest, can usually outspeed Kingdras. Just a tip for future, it looked like you could have wiped out his Kingdra early thanks to the switch.
Oh and btw, I don't know if this applies to you, but if you add yt:stretch=16:9 to your tags section the screen will be nicely stretched and you won't see those ugly black bars.
