One thing strikes me - what if we don't have the whole story? Too many things just do not add up here. Too many snapp judgements. CPS should be monitoring this, in more than just arriving and asking the parent that is accused, who may well, and more often than not is, is lying. I;ve seen situations just like this end up with the child really having been abused, and nobody dug deep enough, and meanwhile the whistleblower was accused of lying. And who pays the price? The child.

In other shows, he extols the virtues of step fathers getting involved in ALL aspects of parenting. I think these suggestions or guidelines that Dr Phil has mentioned are completely unrealistic. Why are these men not called step husbands then if they cannot take on the complete role of a father.

pinkiedahlia, my stepdad was the primary disciplinarian concerning me when I was a kid. He was strict and understandig, which my mother wasn't, and they were both very kind. So sometimes I think it can work out, but it takes a lot of empathy from the stepdad/-mom, if it should work out.

It made me resent him and while I can tolerate him now as an adult, I will never love him, he's not a father figure to me.
