  • I have done the same thing and its pretty typical for us asthmatics to sometimes think we can gain control and then BOOM....IT ALL GOES DOWNHILL....not being able to breathe is the scariest thing ever!..and sometimes it just hits u so fast there isnt anything u can do but ..

  • It seems I've developed asthma, at 41, I've started having these symptoms. I actually first had a hint of this way back in 1994 in NC, but in 1996 moved to AZ for 10 years and never had a problem at all, in 2006 moved to east TX and WHAM! it came back. It goes into remission for a good year or more, though, at which time I can do whatever, even workout for 2 hours straight, no medication-anything. Then it will later come back. I always sneeze a lot, time to see an allergist.

  • I'm asthmatic and its really tough to deal with. I've been to the ER once and it was the scariest day of my life. I truly feel for this woman and my heart goes out to her, having to live with such a stifling condition as asthma.

  • I have this attack on change of season and once in train

  • Man asthma must suck, thank god I don't have it

  • Chet needs to help Sarah. Sarah looks like a zombie with asthma. When she's on the floor in an unconscious way,it reminds me a bit of Princess Aurora when she got her index finger pricked on the pointy part of the spindle after Maleficent put a drowsy spell on her.

  • This occurred on Marieke Thomas' birthday. I was in kindergarten that year.

  • I must say i use my inhaler ALOT my asthma is way out of control. The doctors have tried everything i have ended in the I.C.U loads of times on life support. I am now on steroids for the rest of my life. I take neds 3 every 4 hours 3 inhalers and 4 asthma tablets. Its a pain but it needs to be done, and the worse thing for people with asthma is having PETS well BIRDS and DOGS not good for the chest

  • it happen to me

  • Asthma takes the lives of 11 Americans every day.

Asthma is blamed on the death of CBS News Correspondent Harold Dow. He apprarently had an asthma attack behind the wheel on Saturday, August 21. He had checked himself into the hospital on Monday, August 16 for for severe asthmatic symptoms.

  • I was in Kindergarten at that time.

  • Thank goodness for the rescue guy!.. good job well done.

  • Do you think you get Asthma when peeing in your bed? I mean i have lived for 17 years And i always have trouble breathing when i woke up and have peed in my bed. But when i havent peed in my bed i breathe fine!! When I have peed in my bed I must always take much of my medicine, holly f Help me stop PEEING IN MY BED !:(

  • was her nose bleeding

  • i have ashma since am child..it is difficult to breath!!!

  • This is exactly what im worried about my asthma attacks because non of my medication works and i fear one day no one will be there to help me. :(

  • Plz type in " mother confronts Wayland police" See how my 10 yr. old was abandond by the police during a serious ASTHMA attack . Then join me on facebook and help me get my video out there TY F/B name is Christina Castanie

  • They did not have universal epi-pens back then, It is good for severe asthma patients have this. The ALS protocols were probably different. Paramedic used the then-current technology. Easy to critique videos - may have been better to give a SQ SHOT (takes 20 seconds) B4 nasal-tube.

  • yeah i have asthma and allways have asthma attack :(

buyt yanno at the start you shouldnt really crouch forward becos its hardfer 2 get air in or out well atleast thats what i think anyway lol

  • If that's the way she uses inhalers I'm not surprised they don't do her any good. LOL

  • I don't have an asthma since taking SuperFoodsRx!! Thanks to SuperFoodsRx!! SuperFoodsRx is an excellent product!!

  • Why do you have to program 911 into a phone?

  • @MsFlayvah That town didn't have a 911 system at the time, so they had to dial a seven-digit number.

  • Lol @ the way the actress misuses the inhaler.

  • ivew had 87 asma attacs in 1 month ps i lied about my age on purpose

  • @ecb2789 baha im close to beating ur record ive got i think 80 and and its like 3 days till the end of the month and ive had an average of 3 a day this month its sucking really badly :)

  • @ecb2789 same..

  • I have had asthma since I was 3, I'm now 19 and having a bit of trouble controlling it lately. I've had many visits to the ER and many hours spent on a nebulizer at home but I'm proud to say that I'm surviving! I tend not to take much notice of my asthma if it's not bad but this has made me think and I will definitely pay more attention to my symptoms!

  • My mother Age 60 years patient of copd admitted in I.C.U. and kept on ventillator system since last 1 month. On CPAP she was for 3 days but her PCO2 increases 99.111 after that she was intuvated again and connected to ventillator and her PCO2 was 44 and she improved but from that day she is on ventillator and difficult to wear.till today she is on ventillator and her investigations reports at present Pt.fully conscious, well oriernted, moving all 4 limbs ,BP 140-90,Pls tell me the solution,Sanjay

  • I thought you only get an asthma attack when you run and your out of breath or doing something that makes you need air badly.

  • No, its different for everyone. I have asthma attacks mostly when I do any exercise, when the season changes spring to fall, when I inhale perfume, when I'm angry or upset, and I have a really hard time breathing in the summer.

Asthma sucks. Its totally not fair.

  • @zogasha

An asthma attack can be brought on by an alergen or exertion. You can be sitting in a chair and have one from a single spec of dust.

  • that was filmed at my friends house

  • yea right

  • i have asthma ive had lots of asthma attacks and im only 12 :(

  • @kibblescoops You do? R U telling the truth? I don't have asthma. I have allergies. I wonder if this procedure works on people with allergies who have anaphylaxis.

  • I wonder how William Shatner gets all the facts and how he is able to tell us the facts of what happened and when it happened.

  • @roosevelthighschool The show has researchers who gather the information, and then show's writers write William Shatner's narration.

  • has anyone seen "supernanny" well the host jo frost had asthma since age 5.

  • omg did she i've seen it wow who would of thought that a strong women like her would have asthma

  • im really touched by this video..

    the preciousness of air..

  • she survived :D

  • @probefan24v Thank god! Sarah is Chad's wife. Her shirt is the same color as my short pajamas.

  • 1:06...she didnt even breath in.

  • Do you have the next segement shown at the end where two woman are trapped in car that is in water? Basckit13 only uploaded the first part of that segement

  • I don't have it uploaded, but the Longmont Emergency Unit has it on their website. Do a google search for "LEU Rescue 911" and it should be the first ting that shows up.

  • I used to love this show when I was a kid!

  • when Judd said " Sara had me smart enough actually to program the number into the phone" he made it sound like she's dumber than a box of rocks normally

  • he said sara had been smart enough....to program it in the phone ect..because he prob wouldnt of thought of it, so in a way he was the dummie

  • i love this show and i will like to know when will this show will be comeing on tv i hope it will be soon and i will be looking for it to come on tv

  • If you lived where I live, you'd be better off calling the number for Fire & Police than 911.

I called a month ago, b/c my sister was visiting and needed help. I described the emergency, and the Operator asked "Are you SURE she has a diagnosis?"

I restated myself, assured her it's an emergency and demanded that she send help.

This woman had no business working for 911. If she'd done that to someone unfamiliar w/ emergency care, the results could have been disastrous.

  • @vickiormindyb

Calling only police or fire can prolong a serious injury or illness and decrease mortality because of their minimal health field training. The dispatcher you spoke to obviously did not know her job well. Having a fire fighter or police officer there kills time when a paramedic needs to administer life saving medications. No firefighter or police officer can do that, only provide basic life support (CPR and Oxygen usually IF available).

  • All 3 of my brothers have asthma and my dad does too and 2 of my uncles on my dad's side of the family.

So it runs in the males of our family , i don't have it (ime a girl) but i would do anything to save someone who is having an attack cuz it's truly upsetting. x

  • i don't have astma but i have problem with my breath ,,sometimes i cant breath and it;s realy scary ..a lot of things happened to me i could die underwater ,,i cant breath sometimes 2 o clock in the moring i woke up cause i cant breath

  • -.- that sux ...

    i feel sorry for u :(

  • Same to me!!! :S

  • how do you know that u dont have asthma? if you have a problem with breathing, you should talk to a doctor.

  • i hope u feel betta and stop wakin up and not breathin da same thin happen 2 me. i was at a pool and i jump off da divin borad and in da arm i stop breathin i almost die

  • @lussi151 That's what I use to have then I would choke in my sleep. And I would turn purple. And they chose to take my tonsils out. But my mom made this weird medicine with garlic, onion, and lemon.

  • @lussi151

Thats probley sleep apnea. If you are overweight, there is your problem. Even if you are not, you should have a sleep study done. Asthma does not cause that. Respiratory difficulties could be a number of things from allergies to an underlying cause like the sleep apnea. I would get checked out. Sleep apnea can kill you just like anything else.

  • i have asthma in my life time ibve had three attack one time i was at my graddy and i woke up not breathign i was scared to death i go tup and i went in grannys room and tapped her should saying i cant breathe granny help she go tup and called my mama and she cam e out there to give me a breatheing threatment i didnt want to go back to sleep because i thought it would happen again my lung collased once here at home and i wasnt breathing correctly

  • I have had asthma all my life and I know how this woman was feeling. But what is often overlooked is what her husband felt. This story brings back memories of my own near fatal attacks.

  • do you want me to give you instructions?

no, he wants her to lay there and die,.. what an idiot of course he does!

  • Oh man I hate asthma attacks, I get a sore throat that hurts like heck, it feels like a am breathing through a straw that is cloged on the other end, feel sorry for anyone else who is having one

  • :O!!!

  • SHATNER FTW

  • i have asthma,, and ive had attacks but never anything like that :O

  • Neither have I

  • goodness, my wheezing was like that x2 when I had my first asthma attack ever and the worse is that I was fully conscious of what was happening to me. It's some very freaky feeling.

  • hello, i have a history of asthma and i do not know if it's reoccuring again. When i had a lot of exercise, i feel chest pains and sometimes i get breathles, but i don't have the wheezing thing. one night i woke up coz i can't breath there's something that made it painful for me to breathe all i can do is cry. can somebody suggest me anything?

  • YerLady2: It could be asthma, I'll recomend to check you on a hostpital quick as posibaly!

  • I Also have a history of Asthma. I suggest You Use An inhaler. Maybe You Should See Your Doctor About it. I Use An inhaler when i feel Breathless and have a pain in my Chest.

  • lucky she has an inhaler.. i have asthma and my mom doesn't have enough money to pay 4 an inhaler every time i need 1 or run out of 1.. most of my inhalers go buy to fast because my asthma pretty bad.. but i am still going around smiling even tho my friends make fun of asthma when there's nu10 funny about it.. its very painful and Ive been having asthma since i was 2 but i had pneumonia at 3 months and i been living with asthma ever since and now i am 11

  • asthma is the acute spasm of the bronchioles in your lungs. there could be some inflamation with it too. asthma is VERY dangerous if not treated promptley. the reason her inhaler did not work is because most home inhalers are not used for acute attacks like this. drugs such as albuterol and xoponex work really well especially xoponex. and yes when she fainted that is just bad news...... she's suffocating.

  • An asthma attack can occur at any time, it's caused by the constriction of the bronchi in your lungs, things like dust, certain chemicals and some exercise can start an asthma attack. Sometimes the constriction is so severe that normal medication like the inhaler doesn't work as well as it should, when you can't breathe often your brain starts to shut down which is why she fainted.

  • asthma happens anytime anywhere. i dont know the cause but sumtimes the inhaler doesnt help for many reasones. i have asthma so yeah. just message me and ill tell u more

  • its really scary, i could have ended up like that a few weeks ago. first time ive ended up in hospital.

  • i had one during school it sucked

  • I'm going to tell you about my life. I faint like everyday and i have to have a really pretty girl follow me all day. One time a really cute lifeguard had to do cpr on me. I also fainted at school and a ambulance had to come and pick me up. I also fell off a treehouse and i almost died! When i'm typing right now the really pretty blonde ashley is wtching me right now.

  • Thanks for posting this. Asthma is terrible, but people can learn by seeing this to take it more seriously. I feel grateful for every full breath I take in.

  • anyone who has asthma that bad and didn't have a neb machine .. that is very weird to me..

  • this is my home state

  • I have asthma, it sucks big time!

like angelbabe said, you can have an attack out of nowhere and even your rescue inhalers don't work.

It feels like a ton of bricks are on your chest pushing your airways closed.

You feel helpless and alone when the attack gets worse

  • New Hampshire that's where I live!

  • asthma attack can come at any time even when your sleeping. it really sux!

  • i dont think she is taking the inhaler the right way

  • i'm only at like 0:22 atm, but i will see then tell ya if its right or not (i have asthma and every coloured inhaler under the sun XD)

Ok, i have observed, and u r correct, she is taing it wrong BUT, the stuff in inhalers has a drug that can be harmful if overdosed, so if she doesnt need it (like wen they were re-inacting it) she wuldnt wanna take it

  • There's a brand new invention called "Wikipedia" have you heard of it?

  • wifes asthmatic and he cant do cpr?? hmmmmm

  • yeah welli got got asthma and iam 13 years old meghan

  • I have got asthma and I am a certified lifeguard

  • good for you.. but who cares? wtf?

  • What causes people to get asma anyway, are they born with it?

  • Its a genetic thing. I cant reli explain it but if like another family member has it like parents then the child may be likely to get it but also might not. I didnt get it when i was born i was diagnosed when i was 5 months old. Some people get it from birth and some others get it later on in life.

  • Wow that asma can be scary stuff!

  • stupid ambulance people!!!! Why couldn't the ambulance just go FASTER or something?!!

  • haha yeah i understand. they took so long!!! my mom just takes me to the hospital cuz they do take so long =/

  • thank you for posting this video. This is very helpful to people who are in this situation.

  • When a patient starts thanking me profusely for saving his or her life, I usually feel a bit embarrassed.

Some people become Paramedics to receive such praise, but it never crossed my mind when deciding to work in Emergency Medicine.

My sister had a life-threatening emergency when I was 13 and, when the ambulance arrived, a few EMTs helped her while a few others calmed our fears.

I wanted to give future patients and their families the same positive experience, so I became a Paramedic.

  • i want to watch the next one. the following episode where the car is in the water. which episode it that ??

  • Asthma can be very scary at times. I have asthma and I'm currently going to school to become a RT. For the guy below that took the advair for a tight chest, it is not a fast acting inhaler! Many people think that advair will relieve symptoms of an oncoming attack. WRONG. You need to keep a rescue inhaler on you such as albuterol if you are on advair. Advair does work to keep asthma under control, but it will not work for a sudden attack. Breathe easy, guys:D

  • WILLIAM SHATNER!!!!

Yes, having an asthma attack is by all means extremely terrifying. Imagine everything ending at a split of a second. Yeah, it's a nightmare really.

  • you ok man??? 2 days ago....sound off if youre ok...if in doubt keep the phone with you, call for help if youre alone just to be safe........scary stuff

  • Yeah iam fine now, just a few minutes after posting that comment i fell to the floor and turned a purple/blue colour.

I had to go to A&E and get checked out, i had a gas mask on and they filled me up with pills and potions.

I now have a new ventolin Evohaler to open my airways when i feel like that again.

I really don't like Asthma at all
