  • I remember hearing (in school probably) that there was some correlation between every piece of gold or whatever the condemned handed over, to every stroke of the sharpener the executioner would use on his blade before the chop. Ergo the more generous the payment = the cleaner and quicker your death.

  • I remember my first tour at the Tower of London. I was about 8 and I'll never forget it. These guys are brilliant! I really need to get my rearend back there one day - not been there for years!

Though....that old woman at the front obviously doesn't understand a word he's saying.

  • i thought they were going to show different parts of tower of london instead they only show him talking

  • I want my money back!

  • After watching this I feel like I was slightly let down by the British education system.

  • I went there in June and toured the castle on my own, without the Beefeaters. Now I'm reliving it. Lol. :)

  • do the beefeaters only eat beef?

  • @pete5668 No

  • @BigDaveNeg then why do they call them beefeaters?

  • @pete5668 its just another name for Yeamen Warder, thats all

  • @pete5668 Because they have always been made up of the best and longest serving men of the armed forces. In the old days the king rewarded these men, his personal bodyguard (The Yeomen of the Guard), with the best meat in their rations......which was beef. the rest of the army christened them Beefeaters

  • This man (Bill Callaghan ) has a unique tallent. He can offend people without being offensive. That is unique. Great stuff Sgt. Major.Callaghan...........................

  • anillondon89 is just a racist who hates Britan and the West.....

  • LEGEND !!!

  • Hi! Thanks so much for posting this! I absolutely love this man and his name is spelled Bill Callaghan! You can find him in some news blips on the internet as well as Facebook!

  • Tower of London....what an absolutley fabulous place, The British are the best

    when it comes to history.

  • Great tour. I understand all the Beefeaters are retired high ranking NCOs of the British armed forces. That accounts for their brass and confidence. They make great instructors.

  • @blastforth Bill served as a Sergeant Major for 22 yrs :)

  • @blastforth Yeah they are: navy, army and RAF a lot less of the RAF though, it's mostly Marines

  • @blastforth that is correct.....all of them have at least 22 years service in any branch of the British Armed Forces. they are also the guards of the tower of london and the Queens Personal body guard on state occasions during which they wear a different Gold and Scarlet uniform.

  • @anillondon89 As well as other tourist attractions as well, I'm sure you will acknowledge. Mosques are not the only thing in London for tourists to visit.

  • @waterclear26 Do, if you can put up with the inclement island weather we'd love to have you as long as you don't litter :)

  • @ursie1986 Yes I can put up with any kind of weather:) I have been through it all. and im pretty good with throwing my trash in the garbage and not in the streets. how about you?

  • This guy is brilliant. Fantastic timing with the jokes. People learn more in a hour with him than in a week of school lessons or watching the History Channel. Cheers Bill.

  • Thanks for the upload!

    Very interesting.
