@miedwiezonak Your words are vital to remember. Germany & Japan today are not the monstrous fascist entities that produced history's worst war; they are democratic countries. I spent a wonderful week in Germany a few years ago and saw Japanese soldiers in DC as our guests a few weeks ago. The WW2 veterans I know are from the Pacific theater. I had not seen them smile as much as they did when I told them about Japan's invasion!

He was smiling in the interview until he had to describe
the dead bodies of the people in the gas van at Chelmno
including his wife & children.Of course he was telling the
truth.The Nazi monsters not only murdered his family
they placed a grievous burden on him for the rest of his
life.God bless him.I wonder if he is still alive,or if he
has finally departed this world where so many humans
are still so cruel to their fellow man.
