  • They still miss SIR Brian Jones. The bands musical muse.

  • @Cupidville

    This song's about Brian Jones.

Jagger wrote it in about 1967 - in response to his weird behaviour. Preying he would get better

Recorded it after his death in 1971.

  • @MrCeej9999 An early recording was made during the Beggars Banquet sessions of March 1968.

A version of the song, under the title "Get A Line On You", was made by Leon Russell at Olympic Studios in October 1969 with the help and aid of Mick Jagger (lead vocals), Charlie Watts (drums), Leon Russell (piano), and probably also Bill Wyman (bass) and Mick Taylor (guitar).

  • @Cupidville

I’m pretty sure the original version wasn’t gospel, and didn’t have any references to god in it.

Jagger got into god, and gospel, through his friendship with Billie Preston, who played keys on Exile on Main Street. They used to go to Billie’s evangelical church in LA, togethor

  • I love both of them Stone and Beatles 'cuz I love Rock n' Roll

they're the best of the way they are

  • The Rolling Stones want to bit your right hand and the Beatles want to hold your left one... Lucky we, we've got to hands !

  • inn7516 are you serious? You expect these guys not to be friends with Bill? That's their party animal brethern? So, I guess you think they should be friends with say, GWB? Yeah, they'll all go to TX and weed wack brush and read the bible. You effin idiot!

  • @lepaspg I KNOW you are not talking crap about Texas. Not all Texans are rednecks. Actually, hardly any of them are. And since when is reading the bible something you shouldn't be proud of?? so inn7516 has his own opinion, you have your own. don't try to start crap about it. And what I'm saying about Texas isn't an opinion it's a fact. Just saying.

  • We're starting a youtube channel to get real music back. Our plan is to gain subscribers, and have bands sending us demos. We'll feature the best songs on our channel, so people can stay updated on new bands. However, we will be very selective when it comes to what we put up, so the channel won't be full of shit. We believe the reason why rock isn't on the radio is because people aren't updated about new bands. Please subscribe, or send us a demo.

Don't let the mindless crap take you

  • @GetRealMusicBackTV it's also cos they don't pay the radio stations, unlike the commercial people do. Radio is only if you pay--always was in fact.

  • @GetRealMusicBackTV real music? what is exactly real music? The one you consider good? ugh

  • @GetRealMusicBackTV i will help you ill subscribe and tell people i know about this. by the way im 15(even though my profile says 17) and i love queen, rolling stones, acdc, and a whole bunch of classic rock bands. so if there is anything i can do please tell me.

  • I love this movie

  • 'Shine A Light ' disappointed me a lot! These dudes were rebels and the idols of my youth! Now they're friends with Bill Clinton & Co. - that's only embarassing.

  • part of the excitement of a rock and roll concert is not being in the comfort of your living room

  • If you're a Stones fan, like I am, you'll enjoy Wolfgang's Vault site. I discovered the 1981 Silverdome concert audio and it's free to stream. Very cool rare Mick Jagger and Keith Richards interviews too! Keyword The Rolling Stones

  • ROCKERJCC - underwhelmed? i don't wanna look at u page, i might get realy mad, so i'll pass it, exile on main street it's one of the best, from the best rock roll band!

  • @AvirtualSwitzerland

HaHa Metallica is overrated. Exile is just too bluesy for me. The tracks just run together and it's hard to enjoy. Nothing really stands out. If you listen to a select few you might enjoy them. As a whole it's just "bleh" Not worth having the whole thing. Watch my review if you'd like. You might get mad, but I was ready for that when I made it.

  • I reviewed Exile on Main Street as my latest music review......let's just say I was underwhelmed. It's on my page if anyone is interested.

  • @rockerjcc ...."Underwhelmed" by one of rock's greatest albums?.....I think I smell a Metallica fan?

    y su ultimo album? 2010!

anyone can compare this with other bands? people are comparing it with the beatles or zeppelin, but very different ... have 70s 80s 90s 60s

    and his latest album? 2010!

  • Mick = The purest STARDUST, that ever fell on earth!

  • and guest appearance by Buddy Guy if my eyes weren't deceiving me

  • Keith Richards from the Stones has finally started showing the hideous physical side-effects of all the drugs he has consumed. Just gross yourself out with the pic on my channel background! Keith recently expressed admiration for Justin Bieber, & offered to play on Justin's next album. But Justin’s management declined, saying "Keith is just too unwholesome to fit in with the image we want to project."

  • @JustinBieberKicksAss knob head

  • @JustinBieberKicksAss Not sure what point you are trying to make. He has aged. Other celebs pay money to look younger and have surgery and tucks etc.. He does not.He looks old QED

  • @JustinBieberKicksAss are you out of your mind? Are you completely mental?get back on your meds immediately.

  • @JustinBieberKicksAss Bieber wont live past 21 on the drugs His bitch ass will get addicted to loser. Keith must be a junkie to wanna collab with Bieber?? Cant wait to see the new Bieber movie!! I wanna see Fail in 3D!!!

  • @TheJoeMusashi justinbieberkicksass wants to fool on bieber, just look to the rest of his comments, that's funny

  • The Stones and Led Zeppelin are my too favorite bands

  • Mick Jagger is the Sexiest Man on Earth !!!

  • I know I'm gonna get flamed, but I prefer my Stones with Brian Jones..... There's only a few other songs I like of theirs without Jones, not much though.

  • @staphinfection yeah but still, Exile on Main St, Sticky Fingers, Beggars Banquet are amazing albums. Their last good album what i think was Some Girls, and after that they have had a few good songs but nothing like the music they did in 60's to the Exile of Main St. album...

  • @staphinfection Yep! Brian had the majik, and I agree.. I like my Stones with Brian Jones as well. : )

  • People who think the Stones copied the Beatles in the psychedelic thing ignore or don't know that all lot of bands were doing the same tripped-out thing at the time: the Byrds, Donovan, and countless lesser acts. Maybe the Beatles were copying them...?

  • comparing the stones to the beatles is like comparing beer to wine, or apples to oranges. they're both quite different and yet quite similar. and they're both great. if you're a fan of one, you're most likely a fan of the other, so comparison is kind of silly. besides, everyone knows the Who is way better than both of them...lol JK! no; the who, kinks, animals, stones, beatles etc... all great.*sigh* rock'n'roll USED to be so great(and i wasn't even born yet)! nowadays, good rock is quite rare.

  • @randekio check out The Black Keys, Arcade Fire, The National. Rock is not dead, its just different.

  • @neonyellownailpolish i already own several black keys albums (great), the arcade fire...meh, and i've never heard of The National (i'll have to check em out).Have you heard of blitzen trapper? check out their tracks Furr and Wild Mountain Nation. i wasn't saying rock was dead, just saying there's not a bunch of great bands dominating the charts like we saw in the 60s 70s and early 90s.i mean, it's a crime the black keys never get mainstream attention. rock is not the dominant force it used 2 b

  • @randekio hm, valid point. yes its a shame but its because of the same reason young people dont listen to this old stuff anymore: music is a conglomerate franchise now and people are buying it. and i havent heard of them but i will for sure look them up.

  • @neonyellownailpolish yes it is a conglomerate franchise. far too often, the record companies cater to the lowest denominator and promote marginally talented, typical, disposable, artists instead of real talent. they need to start looking at great artists as a long term investments. i'm hoping that (soon) some great bands will make a splash and turn the industry on its ear again. rock'n'roll is down but not out.

  • @randekio

You may want to check out Beck.....

  • @randekio at last, a real oppinion on the subject, and you're probably younger than most of us...

  • @randekio

How insightful... but The Beatles are better. :D

  • @randekio well said!

  • @randekio It was back then as well, they're only some of the thousands of bands at the time!

  • @randekio Yup.. :/ But theres still some good rock today but not so many.. Like how you said how it was rare..

  • @randekio

    There timelines didn't really cross.

Stones didn't really do their great stuff until about 1969. When the Beatles were basically broken up.

Stones great albums came from about 1969-1973

Beatles great albums came about 1966-1970

  • @randekio damn, youre so right, no body ever believed me when i used to say that the who rocked the most at that time, now i feel so not alone!!! thats good all time rock n roll!!!!

  • the period stones really rocks is from 68 to 74. what a great sequence of records, beggars banquet, let it bleed, stick fingers, exile on main street.

  • they are both perfect. the beatles probably were a little more creative than the stones. they have changed from She loves you to happiness is a warm gun, and think about how perfect the abbey road album is. if you listen to all their records you got the feeling that in the end beatles did more than the stones. because in the 60s the stones havent got any great album. just great songs. i mean, out of our heads is not a great album, but wer have satisfaction there, the same with aftermath.

  • what's the song in the begining??

  • @8wmasgate7

    Jumpin jack flash.

  • go stones

  • por que no puedo encontrar la cancion shadow????

  • LOVE YOU mISK

  • The Stones invented Sex, Drugs, and Rock and Roll. Mick= Sex, Keith= Drugs, Bill Wyman and Charlie Watts were the foundation for the Stones' Rock and Roll.

  • @dannyd1572 - Frankly, the Stones didn't invent anything; they just waited for The Beatles to do everything first and then they followed with a version of their own shortly afterwards.

  • @johnnytastetest the stones sound nothing like the beatles. and anyway, the stones have way different musical roots, they started as a rhythm and blues band.

  • @johnnytastetest

    Who said so?

  • @stercoraniste333 - Says everybody. If you've followed the careers of either band, you'd know this. The biggest example I can think of is when The Beatles really started to break their pop shackles and released Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band in 1967. Then in December the Stones released Their Satanic Majesties Request. If you're not familiar with those records, go google their album covers right now and compare. Know that I am right.

  • @johnnytastetest

I bought the Stones´ and Beatles´ records in 1967. I preferred the former.

  • i wonder why , you tube make conections from beatles in pages of stones. "beatles rock band unveiled." this is not the first time.

are someone jeolus gay beatles fan for here ?

  • Great video, I'm spreading my music with animations, greetings.

  • i wonder why the fuck people try to shove the fucking beatles down other peoples throat???? it`s SICKENING!@!!! fucking get a life

  • "...complete with guest appearances from Christina Aguilera and Jack White..." Really? What about Buddy Guy?

  • I remember Scorcese in the lobbies of the Fillmore and Winterland selling tickets to the "Last Ball", not telling people that he himself was the benefactor of the concert, the movie of which started his career as a moviemaker. I didn't particularly want to go to that concert, but I was asking him questions, and he claimed to be an employee of Mr. Scorcese... his diminutive stature and eyebrows were a dead giveaway though. I'd seen him and his photo before. I admire him. He worked his way up.

  • The Stones reinvented rock's rebellious appeal when the Beatles were threatening to turn it into supermarket muzak. Show some respect, asshole.

  • @christiandatingwebsi There is no way you can say that the rolling stones are only famous for his lips. I was not around for their hayday but I heard their music on the radio and liked it, without ever having seen mick jagger. They make great music. The claim that this is the concert video to beat all concert videos is BS. The Last Waltz holds that acclaim.

  • @sloppyjoeyanko Wrong, the greatest rock video is ladies and gentleman the rolling stones, go find a copy and learn!

  • if you like good rock, then listen to the who. best band ever BY FAR. pete townshend musically is lightyears ahead of keith, sting, elton, and anybody else you'd care to mention.

  • Who?

  • @christiandatingwebsi the who were great thats true - but they didnt have what the stones had. and they were a band attached to a period (mods rockers an all that). the sones are timeless

  • a young mick jagger looks like rupert gint or is it grint? Ron from Harry Potter.

That'd be a great movie and a good role for Rupert to break free from the Ron character.

  • Hello friends I'm spreading my music hope you like it

  • Easily, the greatest Rock band ever!

  • @harp1925 Amen harp!!! No blimmin' doubts about it whatsoever!!

  • @harp1925 i thought guitar hero 3 was better hahahahaha lol

  • @harp1925 What about the Queen?

  • @harp1925 I don't know brother. Let's not forget the band that did "Helter Skelter". I love them both.

  • Now that I've commented on You Won't See Me, I listened to the remastered version, and it sounds like John singing the lead. Oh well, I guess I'm just a John fan! I love the harmony on that, and that is undoubtedly Paul, right? Am I right?

  • @dawncrk23 no its paul on that

  • Wow Zippy - I can't find your comment on here but I got it in an email. How refreshing to receive an intelligent, respectful reply for a change. Yep, I'm a Stones person, so of course I'm going to compare the Stones's best with the Beatles's worst. But don't get me wrong, I love the Beatles, esp John's music. Paul, while I love Paul, leaves me with the heaves, with few exceptions, like Hey Jude and earlier on, You Won't See Me, one of my all time favorite Beatles songs. LOVE THAT SONG!

  • I'm sorry to the narrator but I believe that 'The Last waltz' is the concert film to beat.

  • lol make that money boys jesus what the fuck happened to rock and roll ,,,,,because that's not it that's nothing but money making

  • the stones are the greatest.

how do you know thats all it was about? obviously it means a lot if they are still touring today. if it didnt they would have stopped a long time ago.

  • @Mrbiggerjobs1000 , put them all together and you have the best Band Ever . Sit back and play non stop , 24 Hours of Stones Takes well over well over 48 hours of nonstop , no breaks to hear them all . Kieth wrote some Bad ass music , And yes People do love the Stones , particularly my generation , they hit the States when I was 14 , 60now . Still Love there music !

  • mr bigger jobs! you are a geek "jagger" and all the stones are real people, you should start now! Where all human beings and who we are,you have no clue what magic is in a band and that is the greatest "ROCK AND ROLL BAND IN OUR TIME"

  • your wrong man. The stones are all about passion. Mic got a little more side tracked into the business aspect of music but he didnt start a band for money. THey do wat they love. Kieth is always about the music and you can tell he is just playin his heart out every show

  • @thedevilssympathy why are you unable to spell mick & keith ? you retarded or just fucking stupid , ?

  • Fuck you, ya fuckin retard.

Its called an accident you idiot.

Mic is just quicker to type and I fucked up typing Keith.

By the way tell your mom she left her bra at my house.

  • ONE WORMD ; STONES !!

    Beatles and stones =

  • at least you spelled WORD right

  • Christina Aguilera and Jack White are decent performers but did not impress me at all in this concert. However to keep a contemporay balance in this Beggar"s Banquet they needed to add some chicken fingers and sushi.I happen to prefer the Soul food.

  • Interesting how this airhead chick narrates the video , when she says, the guest stars Christina aguilera and Jack White, while the vid shows Buddy Guy. Who's he Miss ? In the words of MIck Jagger To the audience, whic includes the Clintons and their entourage< Ladies and Gentlemen, Buddy Guy, ! Buddy "Motherfuckin" Guy ! Bravo Mick !
