Thanks for that, Bekkah. I think it's good for people to take charge of YT gatherings and not depend on YT to communicate about them. A vid like this every once in a while on YTA seems perfect to me, with pointers to other channels/sites. I'm going to February SF As One and am looking forward to meeting other YTers.

Which I helped produce last year...

Was a lot of fun..

Even though YouTube doesn't seem to sponsor events....It would be nice to have everything on one site...

There must be a way to list these great events that produce content, without legal issues or looking like they are super condoning of the events..

Just to clarify things a little...Hmarty has decided not to be the contact person for Southtube this year. I, along with DaleATL2, thenudo, and others who may volunteer along the way will be taking the reins from Marty. She did all the hard work last year! We are planning to just do a "do-over" this year. Same wonderful place, just a few extra days of fun! Check southtubegathering channel on youtube for updates.

It would be nice (and easier) if there was a link or 'button' to click on the front page to go to a page with all the links. Then when someone adds a gathering all they have to do is add it to that central list.

I've been trying to find out who is going to As One in February... it's really too bad there isn't a spot where people can sign whether they're going... like events pages on facebook. Would be great if YouTube designed the same concept for the community section.

What do youtube gatherings have to do with being YourTubeAdvocate? This is NOT what this channel was intended for. Is the fact that you are now a partener keeping you from the real purpose of this channel? Are you now in YouTube's pockets? You're jumping the shark Becka. Cheers!

I think everyone who is attending a gathering should anounce(sp?) it on their own channel as to get the word out more. There really should be a channel specifically for anouncing gatherings and a seperate webstite. The only one I am attending so far is Toronto

Hey Lisa, thanks for the information. I am thinking of doing a gathering that celebrates a year ago that the first UK Gathering took place. It will take place on September 14th and 15th in London's Leicester Square at 11am in the morning UK Time.

SouthTube would be the closest to me, but I doubt I would be able to make travel arrangements for October. It's possible I could make plans for an 8-8-08, but Canada is a bit out of the way, and a meeting in Denver, CO sounds like it would be more directly related to skiing... :P

Well, you forgot to mention the meet up I'm going to be having in my backyard, and anyone who makes videos on you tube that lives in my trailer park is invited. not many people came last year, because at the time we lived on the wrong side off the tracks, but we moved the double wide over to the right side of the tracks this year, so i 'm hoping for a bigger turn out, LOL.
