hm.. depends, if the number of ants can really overcrowded the hornet's nest, i think hornets may lose and fly away.. hornet may cut them into pieces but since ants really teamwork together so i think probably ants may win.. good ques =)

But driver ants are pretty much the ultimate predator in the insect world; driver ant colonies are literally unstoppable, except by other driver colonies. So if a driver colony decided to invade a hornet nest, the ants would win quite easily, through sheer numbers.

Actually, it depends. If the 30,000 bees attack the hornets not in numbers(which they won't usually do in my experience),the hornets win. If the 30,000 bees attack in one army, the hornets get stinged to death.

This is comparable to a 100-pound person picking up a small car, carrying it seven to eight miles on his back and then climbing the tallest mountain while still carrying the car! It could be hard to be determined who would win, ants' teamwork are very good and they could swarm 1 hornet easily, but if you said a colony of hornets, hornets have teamwork too.. and don't forget hornets' size are bigger than ants, by using their pedipalp, they could cut ants into half.. just like what 30 hornets did to 30,000 honey bees, so I think Hornet would win, depends on how many hornets is there, I think 20-30 hornets would be enough to fight any insects..

In Asia, I once lifted a huge rock and found like a million ants under it, and surrounding them were those large guard ants. Never been bitten by an ant in the USA, but in Asia they tiny ones bite hard. Bet those bigger ones bite like the world's smallest but strongest pair of scissors

for Asia's ants, maybe talking about Weaver Ants, they bite and spit venom by its tail into our wounds bitten, that's why we felt painful as its venom is mostly sour..
